Welcome to my tiny house in Orlando, Florida where I live simply and sustainably! I built this tiny house along with friends for under $1,500, with nearly 100% secondhand and repurposed materials and while creating near zero waste- just 30 pounds of trash!

HOW TO HAVE A VEGAN WEDDING | (..Part 01 of 02 ..)

Today we’re talking about vegan weddings a few weeks ago I saw that one of our vegan friends posted on Facebook about a wedding she went to in Melbourne as it turns out this was a vegan wedding that’s right bride and groom Monique and Zoran are both vegan and we thought it would be interesting to have them on the show and talk about how they created a vegan wedding what makes this story even more interesting is that they both come from European families and had a very traditional wedding thus they created a fusion of culture and compassion I know a lot of people a lot of our listeners they struggle with having a non vegan partner or family and so thinking about having a vegan wedding will kind of be like mind blown out of this world it’s never going to happen but you guys are showing that it is possible guys did you know that you were going to have a vegan wedding or was it something that you had to discuss no I think it was blatantly obvious very early on in the piece when when I proposed that it was definitely going to be a vegan wedding no ifs about it’s it’s one of those things where it’s you know it’s it’s our day you know and it’s it’s our way or the highway really so that’s how sort of the outlook we had it’s it’s a day you know celebrated for us yeah so the decision was quite simple we live in a day and age now where you know plant-based vegan food is wildly accessible and the options are plentiful so you know whether it’s going to the supermarket or organizing a wedding it is a lot easier than what you actually anticipate and and that was one thing that we realized is how easy this is organizing a bleeding wedding in this day and age so yeah we found it quite seamless well I think many people are gonna find your example quite empowering because some people might not even consider a vegan wedding because they don’t want to bring you know the whole vegan thing and all that goes with it on such a special day you know that I want the wedding potentially ruined and the good atmosphere ruined with veganism and the potential debates and the mocking and uncle Steve’s saying where’s Mimi and you guys said there was no ifs or buts about it you know it’s our special day and therefore you know we should decide you know how it’s gonna play out absolutely and I think in general when you’re invited to a wedding regardless of it’s vegan or not vegan it’s it’s their day and they’ve invited you to share that special day with them so you know when people are a little bit judgmental I can’t speak no it’s not vegan all these happen or that happen it’s like ooh you should be just you know happy and so I appreciate it but you are actually invited we did have place cards in front of every table or seat and mana could maybe expect more today so we did a donation on everyone’s behalf that attended the wedding to Edgar’s mission so it gives mission being a sanctuary locating led sort of for people that don’t know and they have over 450 animal rescue animals there from farms and whatnot and we hold them really close to our hearts we love the work that Pam you know her team do they’re just amazing so we donated yeah on everyone’s behalf and on the back we did a little bit of activism just a couple of little websites and things like that but people just to think about whilst you know that were eating and I think they would have sort of put two and two together there actually was conversations that we did here that people sort of went is mannequins are on vegetarian yes another actually vacant and so yeah we did yeah the website we chose was vegan AZ dog and that’s that’s what we had on every single place card at the venue so all 275 of them so we’re hoping it planted a few seats yeah we actually saw the photos of what you guys are referring to on a friend’s Facebook page and you know when we saw that we were blown away we’re like wow not only a vegan wedding but activism at a vegan wedding you know it’s just fantastic to see that was by far our favorite part of your wedding we have to say and it’s such a clever idea because what the the little things that you’re mentioning here they would like to be the bumble needy or the wedding favors so is that yeah what the bride and groom give to each guests at our wedding we had a thank you card with a non-vegan chocolate for example sometimes people can give a little candle or a an ornament or some sweets or a photo frame or a picture of the bride and groom those kind of things but to put a little vegan activist spin on it was absolutely perfect thank you just yeah something that yeah we just wanted to do instead of doing the same sort of things as you said you know we might be a little canned or or chocolates and all that sort of stuff it was something that we felt was going to make a difference if that makes sense that would go to good use and they obviously very much benefit from it all right so let’s get into the nitty gritties of how to organize a vegan wedding now the main thing of course is the food yes so we remember the last wedding we went to was a family wedding on my side a year ago exactly non-vegan of course

I say look he turned out its what’s your name Norma yeah you ever heard from me vegan snack video she is here helping me out at the wedding and it’s a really windy day but it’s really lovely as well and we’ve just put out some canapés on the table for the guests as they arrive and we’re just gonna go back in the kitchen and get going because there’s a lot to cook a lot – yeah. I’m not deleting nerd anyway update it’s almost the end of the night what time is it like we’ve my goodness I can’t I can barely walk I can barely move but it’s been wonderful everyone loved the food and everyone’s like dancing now and stuff and we’re just like tearing plates and things I’m so tired but it’s been a good day like great experience and yeah I don’t know what else to say really good Jam

FINALLY IN SWEDEN – VEGAN AND PLASTIC FREE SCANDINAVIAN FAMILY IN AN RV TaawkTV Eco Travel Family

It’s our first and our first week well completely not yet we did a really long bike ride yesterday so that was quite tough but so far we’ve been through Belgium Germany the Netherlands and Denmark and we’ve stayed the most endemic we were just driving through the others but Denmark has been a really cool place it’s a beautiful country there people are really really nice and you know it is it is expensive for camping but it’s not too bad and actually it’s well worth coming and having a look Copenhagen is an amazing city really really nice for families to cycle through so thumbs up for Denmark we really enjoyed it we’re now moving into Sweden as our next leg and hopefully that’ll be fun it is quite tiring doing the camp fun thing at the moment I think we’re just getting used to and we’re just going through the process of you know sort of finding our feet getting used to the space and figuring out where everything is and where everything needs to be and always to make it easy and accessible that kind of moving on and changing and Paul having to put all the bikes back on the rack and things like that it takes its toll so there’s quite a lot of maintenance that goes into it but it’s great and it’s worth it the work side is quite tricky so last night we were too tired to do work at night which didn’t happen when we were travelling around Asia but yeah it seems to be you know we were sort of completely enacted at the end of the day and it was like 9 o’clock before we could even start doing any work so that’s quite tricky but I think again it’s just all a process going into the swing of things finding a pattern that works for this type of travel and kind of making it happen so I’m gonna try and work while we’re driving at the moment so hopefully the Wi-Fi will hold up and so yeah we’re it’s great it’s worth it there’s no complaints so far and hopefully it’s showing people that it’s a fun adventure to have [Music] here’s another non-plastic solution that were using we’ve got our bamboo toothbrushes like was showing that and it girls are brushing their teeth in the van we’ve got our bicarbonate of soda mix and we’ve also got a box bicarbonate soda and some oil some peppermint oil so we can make it whenever we want to meaning we save money and save the environment at the same time just one of our plastic create on the ride solutions [Music] so we are now on the orisons bridge which goes from Denmark to Sweden the middle so we are so our first lunch in Sweden and lovely lovely Sweden we’ve been listening to Adler the whole way thanks to pull the DJ and now we’re going to enjoy some very nice luck delights not Swedish meatballs unfortunately unless we can find they’re just meatballs here that’s all right not of april’s unless we can find some vegan alternatives [Music] let’s fight right in Sweden and we’re at this beautiful lake it’s really hot here so we’re getting the best weather so another successful non-plastic vegan lunch so with our bike riding it’s fairly easy we put the hummus the tomatoes and cucumber the board a knife some forks a salad in our rucksacks and then we go out and we find some bread apples yep and then basically we did a little impromptu picnic lunch it’s very quick very easy they have to pack all Heba stuff there’s no plastic involved and it’s all vegan so it’s a it’s a really great way of just only maintaining our mission if you like and our objective to be plastic free and vegan while we’re traveling so the big bike riding today but after a hard ride you need a bit of a break so we came to the beach jess is in there having a swim so you got massive your pet so yeah and what I said is anyone who gets to the top without stopping and gets all the way gets to pieces extra of chocolate you should see the amount of effort these girls because normally they’d be whinging and whining about two seconds in obviously pulls one there you go you and your kids to get up hills on bikes promised them someplace chocolate so when I first met Paul he could only cook beans on toast I was a long time ago and since then he’s evolved excellently and and now now that he’s got the vegan challenge because Paul does mostly cooking in our family so we said he couldn’t challenge on him I’m not sure if he’s particularly happy about it but he seems to be living up to the challenge and he’s producing some excellent vegan meals so the meal we have today is a particular special it’s a risotto and we’re super excited because when we went to England we got a Linda McCartney sausages which are plastic free and you can’t get those in France so we have a nice risotto with some delicious Linda McCartney plastic resources which are also obviously vegan they say deserve vegan risotto guys yeah it’s really good [Music] day is our end today on the road we don’t know and we’re in Sweden at the moment we’ve been at a campsite so second night it’s really nice campsite John gawping today we went cycling we went swimming in the lake very cool little beat on the light it was very cool and like the girls are really enjoying the meeting people at the campsite and it it’s really been quite a fun day today it’s very relaxing yeah and we we like Sweden actually it’s got a really nice vibe to it and it’s a really good place is sweet and it will say fairly cheap which is great so the camping is not expensive special right but about that and so far we’re keeping up with the vegan stuff and we’re really enjoying doing that actually as much healthier option we’re keeping up with the plastic free so it feels good we haven’t got bags and bags of rubbish that we’re just you know putting on someone else’s country type thing and it seems to be going really well so we’re very much looking forward to going to Norway everyone cooks bacon oh so nice okay Sweden’s very cool and having fun it does feel like finally I think today is a day of relaxing not driving not rushing and doing something we’ve had a wife already better swim but be relaxed and like a write up a hill with chocolate as an intention at the top so it’s an achievement and if they were just just catching out my thinking after 10 days yep say can they meet I think from stitching’s if we part you’ll see this amazing person

Lo’s Vegan Experience in Scandinavia

So we’re here at the Blue Lagoon after our long flight well i was actually five hours but it was the most uncomfortable flight ever yeah yeah my sweat on me constantly yeah well she was in the middle I just have to say that this dish vegan meatloaf with amazing side salad sweet potato salad potato salad while roasted potatoes and a medley of like fresh veggies it’s so good it’s got a mushroom gravy with a raspberry sauce that supposed to resemble like cranberry sauce it’s so good I’m in love with this even women is going crazy for it okay guys so it’s day two of our Icelandic trip in Reykjavik and we’ve decided to have lunch at a traditional Icelandic restaurant it’s called low key and I’ve ordered myself a vegetarian platter but I’ve asked them to take out the cheese and the butter off of my bread and I haven’t tried it yet but it looks good it smells really good got traditional rye bread is like sweet chewy nice so good traditional I splendid flatbread let’s try that we’re as well is a quinoa medley with like vegetables and potatoes and roasted potatoes and then a basic garden slip salad with like a balsamic dressing it’s got pumpkin seeds on it I’ve already tried the quinoa and it’s good it’s got like a pickle sort of flavor which I really like Icelandic food is very heavy and like pickling and like preserving so yeah this is perfect and it’s warm and just filling like making my my soul happy all right okay so now we’re at the Harbor and I’m trying to capture the beautiful mountains can you see them the crowds moving really really fast here and a moment ago is hailing and it was really great and now the sun’s coming out and you can see the mansions a whole lot better correct so at the end of day three we made it in time for our free dinner I had roasted potatoes rice corn niblets frozen veggies which whatever i’ll take salad and lots of bread and oddly enough it was perfect and I feel satisfied and I’m actually ending the night with some red wine to kind of just unwind it’s been a long long day it’s been an eventful last couple days and so every day is a moment worth celebrating you know basically treat every day like it’s your last you never know what’s going to happen in this world and you just want to treat it as if it’s the last okay so good night all right morning guys II woke up to first of all you can see the Sun is rising so pretty that is and then behind us Rick glacier / mountain there’s like a waterfall I can get to it there we go and we’re seeing in that little Hut anyways i’m off for breakfast and then we’re off for excursions and and i’m going to show you guys what is available for me for breakfast I had no freaking clue might is be a bunch of bread and jam which has a great but it’s better than an animal carcass and peace out we have made it to the crashed airplane it’s more like literally in the middle of nowhere and I’m just going to show you there’s the plane the famous plane crash plane morning guys its day six day six of our chip no sick ok so I made a few mistakes today is deep pore of our trip and we’ve departed now off to Norway where in the hay this I’m frustrated guys because I was really pissed off last night we ordered a pizza that was the size of my palm and I thought it’s going to be a lot bigger and i was making jokes because it was as if a else was eating the pizza i’m hungry and i was tired and I’m still feeling really grouchy but it was a savior at the airport a Joe and the juice and so we’re having strawberry banana smoothies and a avocado tomato sandwich on a very interesting paper I’d what it tastes really delicious anyways guys off to Norway very tired but very excited to see what’s ahead alright guys so today is our second day in Oslo we had a really great night last night we walked through the streets of oz whoa downtown here like the harbourfront area and saw quite a bit actually for one night and we had a lovely dinner Reuben loved it I’m me it was ok anyways today’s new today and we just had an amazing lunch at a place called the Loving Hut and it was a vegan and so I documented some of the pictures we both had the shwarma wrap which was part of this world it had the fake meat but I had lots of vegetables the sauce is really delicious honestly it’s amazing so we only ate half of it we’re apt to the second one up and put in our bags because right now we’re off to the viking museum and we’re learning that foods a little more expensive than we budgeted for so that will be our snack if we get hungry and hopefully if we can make it in time maybe go back to the loving hut for dinner to try their chef burger which was their second best seller anyways guys it’s a beautiful day here and we’re feeling good energized pumped all right good Morgan today I am in where are we bergen bergen norway so i have another video in a few days um the last one was in oslo and our last day and also and so i just want to show you guys just a little bit those are the old buildings kind of what Bergen is known for so we were in Oslo and then we left early morning and we took a really awesome train right actually to a little place called Flom & Flom was in the area of like the fjords so when we arrived we did this beautiful snowshoeing hike and I was a little apprehensive at first cuz I’ve never done it before so I was like oh god this could be really hard um actually it was so much fun like so much fun and then the next day which was yesterday we did a few words tour he had a bit of a late start to the day and I had a vegan burrito which I was thankful I’m lucky to have to have hi guys so we made it to a dense safely and we’re actually very tired we’ve had a long couple days of just traveling and you know trekking around and um we decided that we’re actually to stay in and I’m going to cook a dinner and I’m just going to show you what I’m making um I’m actually taking what the apartment already offers so it’s nothing fancy it’s nothing elaborate it’s just making do with what we have on hand i will show you i’m about to make vegetarian pasta so i’ve chopped up some garlic that he has seen around and it took us about like six because we do like garlic and he had some frozen veggies which always like to start a with a little bit olive oil use some dried basil and just season it with a little bit of salt and a lot of mine cover now we’re just gonna make pasta so i’m just waiting now for my pot of water to boil so a trip has finally come to an end I’m a little sad to be leaving to be quite honest I had a fantastic time it was a long journey but it was well worth the 14 days of traveling throughout the countries and experiencing the different landscapes and temperatures and weathers and just what nature threw at us so the last couple of days I have been in Copenhagen and the first night that we came kind of like a little scary to be quite honest Copenhagen single ghetto which is a little bit shocking i thought it was any more city but it was still you know great time we had falafel they weren’t that nice to me they seemed a bit upset when I had sent my food back because they put yogurt sauce on it so that put a bit of a damper on my experience on my first night in Copenhagen then our second day was amazing we rented bike and we saw the city and we saw quite a bit actually for one day that just shows kind of how small the city is and we went to the local food market and I had the Colombian vegan hamburger with planting fries and then yesterday we actually did a quick trip to Malmo Sweden and literally was just like about an hour’s trip on train so that just shows how small the countries are and how closely we walked on memo he went to the museum we saw the castle so quite a bit and it was really fun and then we actually went about a half an hour walk to the vegan bar and had a vegan hamburger which was out of this world and then here we are we’re now at the copenhagen airport waiting for our flight back to Reykjavik Iceland and often we go so overall I would say that the Scandinavian countries don’t really have veganism down pat they definitely have vegetarian down pat and i would say iceland and norway were probably my best food experiences and malmö sweden where we obviously had the vegan hamburger um I I would just say I had basically order vegetarian items and try to make them alter it which is fine I never thought once that you know I was going to be absolutely perfect so that is it if you plan on traveling to any of these countries that I’ve gone to again just do your research to see what restaurants are out there look at menus and see what you can get for you alright hi you

Vegan Food in Stockholm, Sweden

We’re going to show you where to eat in Stockholm Sweden they just had lunch at Lau way we think that by you saying it was delicious it was lunchtime so there’s only one meal option they just brought us out what they had me for lunch which was really cool yeah but reservations get super super tight during dinner time but apparently can anything come yes it’s like as a fully vegan restaurant so always wonderful ticket all right we hit gold there are three being fun just right here at number one it’s good store the red awning behind shavette good door and then that lays them choker yeah I am vegan punishment and vegan bakery cafe yeah and then number three right next to it is my good story it’s a restaurant that they have vegan food it could only bore a little or something like that but it’s kind of like a diner we are now at and oh yeah ahead mrs. Meighan bakery and the stuff that we got looks oka we couldn’t decide we got a raw Snickers are and then we got a thing that looks like a brown brownie chocolate cake type of thing then I got our ultimate lusted and out pal God is soy milk latte and we’re going to drink this I need this time probably go to the next phase and now we are at goods store which is a vegan grocery store it has a ton of things that vegan cheese’s vegan need to begin protein powder vegan desserts vegan drinks begin products basically you can get anything here it’s awesome and we want to come back and get some things for a taste test video so stay tuned for that oh we just got done eating flesh drinking at Stockholm raw is so cute inside there’s amazing seating and light to just study or work on stuff or just eat delicious vegan raw dessert and kombucha so it’s a mostly vegan cafe except for money so like cut out the honey but it’s very delicious and a cute place to just hang out so we are at a sticky Mickey which is a gelato place here in Old Town Hall they are not vegan but they do have to be in gelato options and their cones are turning vegan in 2011 and all of those subjects are also being so you have a really good variety of the eruption so we’re in gone the Sun she’s like the old town of stock bulbs there’s three options we got that the in gelato place we just showed you we got this place Hermitage which is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant and right down there we had a recommendation to go to a vegan bakery you can see on the corner so she’ll be like stop now like should be I don’t know how this works there’s too many options so we went into this completely vegan bakery that a girl at a coffee shop recommended times that we would not have known anything about and it is called sattva oh my gosh it’s a bit windy here today switch oh wait is that the most amazing is coming for dinner and delicious with the time menu transpired menu and there was an entire vegetarian you’re looking perfect place to go because must write to wanted and yeah any place you want where would I be as a person and in society without rioted in the we visited back you sit which is a vegetarian restaurant where we had another seven chords vegan meal what’s really cool about this place is that the area next to it turns into an outdoor nightclub called true garden true Jardin I don’t know it translates to the garden we got to visit one of Alan’s favorite places Herman we had a 100% vegan buffet as well as the barbecue that was happening down on the deck with a beautiful view of Stockholm part of the place that you have to go for a beautiful view and wonderful food thank you so much for watching and if you like this video give it a thumbs up and comment down below any other tips you might have for vegans visiting Stockholm.
