So we’re here at the Blue Lagoon after our long flight well i was actually five hours but it was the most uncomfortable flight ever yeah yeah my sweat on me constantly yeah well she was in the middle I just have to say that this dish vegan meatloaf with amazing side salad sweet potato salad potato salad while roasted potatoes and a medley of like fresh veggies it’s so good it’s got a mushroom gravy with a raspberry sauce that supposed to resemble like cranberry sauce it’s so good I’m in love with this even women is going crazy for it okay guys so it’s day two of our Icelandic trip in Reykjavik and we’ve decided to have lunch at a traditional Icelandic restaurant it’s called low key and I’ve ordered myself a vegetarian platter but I’ve asked them to take out the cheese and the butter off of my bread and I haven’t tried it yet but it looks good it smells really good got traditional rye bread is like sweet chewy nice so good traditional I splendid flatbread let’s try that we’re as well is a quinoa medley with like vegetables and potatoes and roasted potatoes and then a basic garden slip salad with like a balsamic dressing it’s got pumpkin seeds on it I’ve already tried the quinoa and it’s good it’s got like a pickle sort of flavor which I really like Icelandic food is very heavy and like pickling and like preserving so yeah this is perfect and it’s warm and just filling like making my my soul happy all right okay so now we’re at the Harbor and I’m trying to capture the beautiful mountains can you see them the crowds moving really really fast here and a moment ago is hailing and it was really great and now the sun’s coming out and you can see the mansions a whole lot better correct so at the end of day three we made it in time for our free dinner I had roasted potatoes rice corn niblets frozen veggies which whatever i’ll take salad and lots of bread and oddly enough it was perfect and I feel satisfied and I’m actually ending the night with some red wine to kind of just unwind it’s been a long long day it’s been an eventful last couple days and so every day is a moment worth celebrating you know basically treat every day like it’s your last you never know what’s going to happen in this world and you just want to treat it as if it’s the last okay so good night all right morning guys II woke up to first of all you can see the Sun is rising so pretty that is and then behind us Rick glacier / mountain there’s like a waterfall I can get to it there we go and we’re seeing in that little Hut anyways i’m off for breakfast and then we’re off for excursions and and i’m going to show you guys what is available for me for breakfast I had no freaking clue might is be a bunch of bread and jam which has a great but it’s better than an animal carcass and peace out we have made it to the crashed airplane it’s more like literally in the middle of nowhere and I’m just going to show you there’s the plane the famous plane crash plane morning guys its day six day six of our chip no sick ok so I made a few mistakes today is deep pore of our trip and we’ve departed now off to Norway where in the hay this I’m frustrated guys because I was really pissed off last night we ordered a pizza that was the size of my palm and I thought it’s going to be a lot bigger and i was making jokes because it was as if a else was eating the pizza i’m hungry and i was tired and I’m still feeling really grouchy but it was a savior at the airport a Joe and the juice and so we’re having strawberry banana smoothies and a avocado tomato sandwich on a very interesting paper I’d what it tastes really delicious anyways guys off to Norway very tired but very excited to see what’s ahead alright guys so today is our second day in Oslo we had a really great night last night we walked through the streets of oz whoa downtown here like the harbourfront area and saw quite a bit actually for one night and we had a lovely dinner Reuben loved it I’m me it was ok anyways today’s new today and we just had an amazing lunch at a place called the Loving Hut and it was a vegan and so I documented some of the pictures we both had the shwarma wrap which was part of this world it had the fake meat but I had lots of vegetables the sauce is really delicious honestly it’s amazing so we only ate half of it we’re apt to the second one up and put in our bags because right now we’re off to the viking museum and we’re learning that foods a little more expensive than we budgeted for so that will be our snack if we get hungry and hopefully if we can make it in time maybe go back to the loving hut for dinner to try their chef burger which was their second best seller anyways guys it’s a beautiful day here and we’re feeling good energized pumped all right good Morgan today I am in where are we bergen bergen norway so i have another video in a few days um the last one was in oslo and our last day and also and so i just want to show you guys just a little bit those are the old buildings kind of what Bergen is known for so we were in Oslo and then we left early morning and we took a really awesome train right actually to a little place called Flom & Flom was in the area of like the fjords so when we arrived we did this beautiful snowshoeing hike and I was a little apprehensive at first cuz I’ve never done it before so I was like oh god this could be really hard um actually it was so much fun like so much fun and then the next day which was yesterday we did a few words tour he had a bit of a late start to the day and I had a vegan burrito which I was thankful I’m lucky to have to have hi guys so we made it to a dense safely and we’re actually very tired we’ve had a long couple days of just traveling and you know trekking around and um we decided that we’re actually to stay in and I’m going to cook a dinner and I’m just going to show you what I’m making um I’m actually taking what the apartment already offers so it’s nothing fancy it’s nothing elaborate it’s just making do with what we have on hand i will show you i’m about to make vegetarian pasta so i’ve chopped up some garlic that he has seen around and it took us about like six because we do like garlic and he had some frozen veggies which always like to start a with a little bit olive oil use some dried basil and just season it with a little bit of salt and a lot of mine cover now we’re just gonna make pasta so i’m just waiting now for my pot of water to boil so a trip has finally come to an end I’m a little sad to be leaving to be quite honest I had a fantastic time it was a long journey but it was well worth the 14 days of traveling throughout the countries and experiencing the different landscapes and temperatures and weathers and just what nature threw at us so the last couple of days I have been in Copenhagen and the first night that we came kind of like a little scary to be quite honest Copenhagen single ghetto which is a little bit shocking i thought it was any more city but it was still you know great time we had falafel they weren’t that nice to me they seemed a bit upset when I had sent my food back because they put yogurt sauce on it so that put a bit of a damper on my experience on my first night in Copenhagen then our second day was amazing we rented bike and we saw the city and we saw quite a bit actually for one day that just shows kind of how small the city is and we went to the local food market and I had the Colombian vegan hamburger with planting fries and then yesterday we actually did a quick trip to Malmo Sweden and literally was just like about an hour’s trip on train so that just shows how small the countries are and how closely we walked on memo he went to the museum we saw the castle so quite a bit and it was really fun and then we actually went about a half an hour walk to the vegan bar and had a vegan hamburger which was out of this world and then here we are we’re now at the copenhagen airport waiting for our flight back to Reykjavik Iceland and often we go so overall I would say that the Scandinavian countries don’t really have veganism down pat they definitely have vegetarian down pat and i would say iceland and norway were probably my best food experiences and malmö sweden where we obviously had the vegan hamburger um I I would just say I had basically order vegetarian items and try to make them alter it which is fine I never thought once that you know I was going to be absolutely perfect so that is it if you plan on traveling to any of these countries that I’ve gone to again just do your research to see what restaurants are out there look at menus and see what you can get for you alright hi you
We’re going to show you where to eat in Stockholm Sweden they just had lunch at Lau way we think that by you saying it was delicious it was lunchtime so there’s only one meal option they just brought us out what they had me for lunch which was really cool yeah but reservations get super super tight during dinner time but apparently can anything come yes it’s like as a fully vegan restaurant so always wonderful ticket all right we hit gold there are three being fun just right here at number one it’s good store the red awning behind shavette good door and then that lays them choker yeah I am vegan punishment and vegan bakery cafe yeah and then number three right next to it is my good story it’s a restaurant that they have vegan food it could only bore a little or something like that but it’s kind of like a diner we are now at and oh yeah ahead mrs. Meighan bakery and the stuff that we got looks oka we couldn’t decide we got a raw Snickers are and then we got a thing that looks like a brown brownie chocolate cake type of thing then I got our ultimate lusted and out pal God is soy milk latte and we’re going to drink this I need this time probably go to the next phase and now we are at goods store which is a vegan grocery store it has a ton of things that vegan cheese’s vegan need to begin protein powder vegan desserts vegan drinks begin products basically you can get anything here it’s awesome and we want to come back and get some things for a taste test video so stay tuned for that oh we just got done eating flesh drinking at Stockholm raw is so cute inside there’s amazing seating and light to just study or work on stuff or just eat delicious vegan raw dessert and kombucha so it’s a mostly vegan cafe except for money so like cut out the honey but it’s very delicious and a cute place to just hang out so we are at a sticky Mickey which is a gelato place here in Old Town Hall they are not vegan but they do have to be in gelato options and their cones are turning vegan in 2011 and all of those subjects are also being so you have a really good variety of the eruption so we’re in gone the Sun she’s like the old town of stock bulbs there’s three options we got that the in gelato place we just showed you we got this place Hermitage which is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant and right down there we had a recommendation to go to a vegan bakery you can see on the corner so she’ll be like stop now like should be I don’t know how this works there’s too many options so we went into this completely vegan bakery that a girl at a coffee shop recommended times that we would not have known anything about and it is called sattva oh my gosh it’s a bit windy here today switch oh wait is that the most amazing is coming for dinner and delicious with the time menu transpired menu and there was an entire vegetarian you’re looking perfect place to go because must write to wanted and yeah any place you want where would I be as a person and in society without rioted in the we visited back you sit which is a vegetarian restaurant where we had another seven chords vegan meal what’s really cool about this place is that the area next to it turns into an outdoor nightclub called true garden true Jardin I don’t know it translates to the garden we got to visit one of Alan’s favorite places Herman we had a 100% vegan buffet as well as the barbecue that was happening down on the deck with a beautiful view of Stockholm part of the place that you have to go for a beautiful view and wonderful food thank you so much for watching and if you like this video give it a thumbs up and comment down below any other tips you might have for vegans visiting Stockholm.
You the star greetings from India it is hot and humid here I think it’s 46 degrees today fifty percent humidity super hot that’s like 110 Fahrenheit and wow going to get some mangoes and some bananas we’re excited to see me here in this fruit market maybe they’ve seen the cool vegetarian website as per the Hindu religion is supposed to be pure vegetarians when I say / vegetarians we do not eat any kind of food not just cause sacred animal living the religion but we do not even need other animals other living beings that’s the philosophy of the Hindu religion but now obviously with globalization people do not follow the religion strictly to the core in all the aspects so in this aspect we can see now a lot of Hindu people also eat non-vegetarian food now but I till today in 29 years of my life I have not heard of one Hindu person eating a cow which is strictly anti-hindu might not be able to eat it even if they’re starting hmm even if they want to they might not be able to be conscious without an hour the concierge at my hotel help me find this place called health is wealth upstairs they sell coke and pepsi and all the regular crap and then downstairs they’ve got organic foods lots of live food options as well they got a fresh produce section mostly packaged and dried stuff some organic produce here at a fruit market outdoor market and have like lots of great mangos and coconuts papaya places awesome in India is actually a huge supplier of mangoes I never knew this but they supply over fifty percent of the world’s mangoes and they are delicious here damn you’re liking your juice it’s good sugar cane juice i’m here at the Taj Mahal in Agra India unbelievable this place was built out of love for the Empress who passed away during childbirth the first impression this gives you is that of a palace oh it’s never been a palace nobody has ever lived here only dead people live here because this is a movie mean there are tombs of the Emperor and the Empress inside the main wife Ellen and this was built by the 5th mughal emperor the construction of this building now began in the year 1631 and it took the next 22 years for it to finish finished in the year 1653 like 20,000 people working I made up a recipe for a very simple salad and then I had it translated into the local language Hindu how have I been in India when most people come here from America Canada become him to get sick so what I’ve been doing is I’ve been eating most of my meals from the hotel and I’ve been having a really simple salads mostly and I’ve been having fruits with thick skin stuff like bananas and mangoes and dragon fruit have thick skin that hang on a tree that aren’t flying in stillwater on the ground I’ve been having bottled water and I’ve been having a Himalaya brand of bottled water not the coke and pepsi brands because I don’t really trust those but the Himalayan brands been really good for me I’ve been putting minerals in my water so my water is really you know good quality water and haven’t been eating off the street there’s a cow just walking spray cow no owner just walking straight down the street all by himself cows are sacred here they spin Lucia hey Lucia hey
This is my comprehensive review of travelling Hong Kong and India, including Varansi, Agra, Jaipur, Delhi and Goa in January/February 2018. I am sharing some general tips about travelling India as well as specific tips of travelling as a vegan. India definetly is a paradise for vegetarians and vegans alike! We explored many different places, including the Ganges in Varanasi, the Tah Mahal, the Pink City and Palace of the Winds in Jaipur, the Nahargarh Fort, Sunset Temple and beautiful beaches in South Goa. hi I’m dr. McAdams from vegan media and today I want to go through some of the opportunities some of the business opportunities they’re available in the vegan community and what I’ll do is I’ll start by going through my own journey into veganism I’ve been a vegan for over 10 years and prior to that I was probably a vegetarian for 15 years so what made me turn well basically it really was about health and it was about animal cruelty and I wanted nothing to do with animal cruelty whatsoever I just wanted to completely eradicate it from my life as best as possible because when I looked at my dog I see all sorts of animals now I had it all start well when we’re not the suits are tuned vegan that means eliminating all animal products as best as I possibly could over a period of time but then this avoid isn’t it so there’s a void what shoes do I worry of what belt do I wear you know what what clothes what food most importantly food and eating out what happens there and so there’s there’s thousands of business opportunities hidden in vegan community because basically people they’ve got money I know a lot of rich vegans they want to spend but they don’t want anything to do with animal cruelty and they don’t or animal exploitation and so being a vegan there’s food clothes eating out and then you get into other secondary kind of products not really secondary but a whole bunch of other products book covers cars bags I’ll just try to rattle through a whole bunch of products that I’ve since eradicated and bought vegan versions of it and then after you become a really good foodie and you’ve read you learn to read labels what happens to you as a person you change and you want more change and you want to become better at what you’re doing it’s just a natural sort of human thing to do you just want to become bigger better and brighter so you start looking at everything from there you look at your health and you think oh god I’ve got to exercise so what are the business opportunities with people that want to exercise there you go I’ve got a list I could sit here and go through probably 50 products 50 exercise products from clothing through to gay it’s through to getting the right personal trainer and you’ve got you’ve got exercises another area that people want to improve so it’s their health and along with that could be supplements as well the next the next thing that hadn’t told one thing I forgot to mention was family my whole family is vegan so I’ve got three gorgeous young daughters they’re vegan the dogs vegan so that that’s another huge kind of like business that where I have to fork out but it’s another vegan opportunity another vegan business opportunity from here we’re probably looking at things like eradicating the amount of waste that we collect like I’ve seen after Christmas that the recycle bin was like doubled full it was I couldn’t believe it the man of actually trash that’s generated it’s just not on I want to change that so how can how can I change that I’m more efficient more efficient methods of buying products and I would buy them I want to reduce the amount of plastic I want to reduce the amount of carbon footprint I don’t care what it is but as a family we all want to reduce the amount of waste that we we produce following in from that is getting into gardening now I don’t know about you but I’m not a gardener I don’t have a green thumb I don’t know that very much about it at all and so but there’s a whole opportunity I need to file a spade need to buy a compost bin I need to and so so it goes on it and if you tie it to the vegan side of things then it’s it’s another business opportunity and we could I could keep going further but as you can see that there’s a void left if you eliminate all the animal products then you have the opportunity to sell vegan products to vegans and I’ll tell you something about vegans as well because I’m like that I’m loyal I stick with people that are doing the right thing and they’re following the same beliefs that I follow and we all talk to each other as well so from a business perspective veganism can be big bucks you’ve just got to take the off Unity’s.
Butter or dairy so I just decided to open wholesale business and was really really hard in the beginning because nobody even nobody knew what was vegan and I would give the pastries for free people wouldn’t even try it they didn’t want to eat and you know was really hard at one point I said maybe I should just do a regular bakery and then you know but I said I know that in a few years this will be like a long-term commitment because I know that one day this is just will come and I don’t think that yet the vegan it’s mainstream this is still it’s really very difficult I will tell you about it later but it’s now people are very interested out it and you know so many wonderful like the news and all of this the information is out there so I think that now is is really much easier so vegan divas it’s a bakery we are in the Upper East Side in Manhattan we distribute to more than 45 or 50 supermarkets and you know restaurants and locate other locations we also have e-commerce website we ship across the country and then we have the the bakery and we’re opening more locations and we’re opening something a license outside the country so this is the businesses three years old now the biggest challenge for me still it’s to fight the ingredients because they’re they’re not too many suppliers that have all the ingredients that we need so sometimes it’s really hard when I want to get something different for example tapioca it’s it’s the tapioca that I want to have for a special desserts it is really hard there’s not everyone that has or just one supplier so this is one thing that it’s very difficult another thing is that most the products they come in a packaging that is really small so for for example we buy like so much tofu I know hundred cases at a time and we have to open like each packages like these size because they don’t make it yet the tofu like in you know in a big containers like a regular bakery like they sell butter or any everything else so this is like very makes very difficult for us for to get in the large scale of the business and sourcing the ingredients is still really hard and sometimes can be very expensive and we also have to find the balance like it has to be something that we we can sell because the price has to be right or people are not going to buy but at the same time we have to keep the quality so this is I think one of our biggest challenge every day I because I was I learned with all these chefs and French chefs and you know for me it really has to taste good and the presentation has to be beautiful I love beautiful packaging I buy all of my packaging in France so I go every year to the 100 best chefs pastry chefs in the world seminar and one of the things that I do when I go there not just to try to make them eat the dessert and make the dessert without butter because they lead the business the pastry business in the world these guys and they never heard about vegan or they don’t even know what is that and they’re just you know poisoning people but I think that the way that I can touch them and talk to them is just not imposing them what I do but just trying to make they taste something different and now little by little they’re starting to make PMA of Philippe Conti Jeanne all of these famous French chefs they’re starting to make some recipes you know with less butter or no eggs or without dairy because they’re learning now that the demand is creating a demand and they know that they don’t have just to sell a product this is not just a business you know they’re really responsible for your feeding someone and you’re really responsible not to you know just kill this person with diabetes and all of these problems that we have another challenge of this business it’s when I started looking for distributors the distributors they they love the product but it’s hard for them to convince their sales team to sell this product because they when they go to the markets everyone wants to buy yogurt ice cream or dairy everyone buys milk but nobody buys vegan desserts so they have to spend much more time explaining to them this is vegan it’s made of tofu you have to put it in the freezer you have to do these so for them they don’t want to have this extra time selling the products in the wholesale customers which is was really hard for me this is one of the biggest challenge and then but now I finally have a distributor that you know they really see that it’s a in one or two years hopefully though this category of vegan desserts and pastries and baking goods will be in all the supermarket’s across the country so hopefully they will have the aisle or a section for the vegan desserts like they have the gluten free but we’re not there yet when the sales teams they go to the supermarkets they have to explain to them what is vegan most of them they don’t know and you know it’s still when we sell it’s really hard because they try to compare the our product with a regular brownie and of course our product is a little bit more expensive because we use better ingredients but for them it’s hard to say I don’t want to sell your product because it’s more expensive but they don’t have anything else to compare they don’t have 50 other items to compare there are vegan too so they say how come yours is 250 and the other one is $1.00 and I say but it’s vegan and they say but it’s a brownie so it’s it’s it’s very challenging also for the consumer it’s of course here everyone it’s maybe it’s vegan or it’s knowledgeable about vegan but in the markets people still they don’t know why should I buy this and then we really have to do a lot of demos and because of the price so this is another thing that we have to do so I think that this business we have already a regular business it’s a challenge to just be a bakery or whatever your manufacturer it’s a it’s a challenge but a vegan it’s I would say 10 times more because it’s something it’s a movement that we’re building now it’s a starting we’re creating so it’s still like in the baby steps and you have to invest everything you have to educate people we have to you know it’s a great to have events like that then people can learn and can talk about and we can spread the word but it’s for the business it’s really very complicated and it’s it’s really hard because you know it’s just you have to explain everything more than just to the consumer and to the to our customers at the bakery who goes to the bakery they’re not necessarily vegan they just like the product and because it’s healthier I think that after they don’t want to go back to a regular baked it good my husband ironically he’s a very famous pastry chef and he cooks with butter and eggs and cream and you know now I have a lot of his customers coming to my place because they they just can’t eat that stuff any more every day and when they try our brownie they say wow this is this is really taste good so I will try I’m not vegan but I with that again and I think that for that reason people they change their palate they change you know the perception and they became they have like a more operate palette this is really it’s really for me it’s one of the things that drives me on my business is just to see like the moms and the people they’re coming like you know I could never I have this intolerance of dairy or my daughter can have eggs and finally I can find something that is not just vegan but it’s healthy and you know this is really what makes us keep going because it’s really hard so maybe you guys want to do some questions now and we can continue yeah what do you think has worked in getting the word out about vegan divas how do you what do you think has worked and getting the word out about vegan divas I think that is just the timing now is right when I started I would offer everything for free and people would be scared I wouldn’t say it’s vegan you know the word was a bad word people would associate with the hippie crunchy and you know dog food if I can say that but now when I go to the places and the markets that when I say all this try this is vegan people get really interested about it so now for me particularly it’s an asset to have the name vegan on the brand vegan divas so I think that is just the the timing is right now and it’s just growing a lot yeah a who’s your target market for vegans because in America as income and education go down weight goes up so you don’t find a lot of poor people or people even in the middle class who can afford to shop at Whole Foods or pay more for a brownie it’s a lot less expensive so who’s really your demographic in your target market if you’re gonna start a pagan business of any kind so it’s mostly women and then from 23 to 35 years old and where places is California Oklahoma after San Francisco of course Chicago Alabama Las Vegas a New York City yeah but I think that what we do is a little bit more upscale and my goal is to make the product to sell the product everywhere every bodega every supermarket doesn’t matter if it’s cheap or not but you know my goal is to sell everywhere and to give the chance for people that you know I have a sweet tooth and I think that everyone does so my goal is to make the product affordable the wholesale line to everyone across the country hi can you talk a little bit about the challenge of which I would imagine is true in any business beginner or not of when you first started and you were first literally trying to get people to buy your baked goods and did you take it around to local places in your neighborhood what did you do exactly so when I started I am partner with the local market in the Upper East Side they were my partners and I was baking everything in their facility and we were selling in his place so then we would do constantly look sample of the products and then people like some people they wouldn’t try when we say try this vegan product but when we just give the product they were trying and after they like and they would buy and they would say this is very expensive so then you have to try it again and it’s expensive and you know at this time three years ago nobody most of the people didn’t know what it was vegan was just the gluten-free and and for me I don’t want to follow a trend you know I do this because this is my lifestyle is the way I leave and I’m not I don’t care attach it to like gluten-free or vegan for me it has to be its of course it’s vegan because you’re already covering a lot of things there is no cholesterol is really good for you and you know we almost use no sugar but I don’t want to say and we have of course gluten-free items but it doesn’t mean that you’re healthier because you’re vegan right some people they eat a lot of processed foods and you know they eat all of this I shouldn’t say that here but a hot-dog vegan and all of these things all the time french fries they think it’s good to be vegan but for me I don’t want to do this what do we do it’s like all we pick all the ingredients very healthy and we make them tasty so this is this is my goal it’s to make like a food that it’s really fresh in known process and you know that’s that’s the idea because just you know if you want to follow a trend after when the trend is gone I think that your business you know will be the next thing too for me it’s really I’m committed to a healthy product and then when people try and they know that it’s healthy but also another thing if you can you can tell them that it’s gluten free or vegan but if they taste and doesn’t taste good you’re not going anywhere I think that you really have to be committed to the taste yeah yes so if I want to branch out beyond deserts yes in the we have a quiche that we make yeah which is really great but to make it that in a like a big scale we have to make it it’s it’s a totally different process than the pastries and the baking goods so for now I I just want to be the best and in the deserts and the cakes you know because then it’s so different it’s different to make savory sandwiches then baking it’s totally different so we’re now focusing the dessert now when we open another store next year yeah next year we’re going to have more options like savory because people they want in the store more options so and we have also had the ice cream there the soft-serve ice cream which is great yeah yes we do we sell to restaurants that are known vegan which is great you know and that and for that I think that now more and more like known restaurants even if you go to the most like expensive like if you go to Danielle or if you go to the wine bars like they’re not really exposure people want the option and you know they really have a full menu of vegan desserts and vegan food so I think that it’s it’s really a great time for for us now and you know it’s just it’s just growing it’s just growing so I think of what can I say now for someone that wants to start this business you really have to know that it’s something that you’re doing long-term it’s not something for tomorrow but it’s really something long-term and I think that in two two years or at least in two years this will be really really big but you know just don’t think about tomorrow like sometimes you have to lose money a little bit but you know I think that at the end of the day will be worth it for everyone because we’re doing something bigger than just selling a food we’re just you know we’re passionate about something that we just we wanna cater like a better food you know anyway we want to encourage people to eat like that at home just lounge at my cookbook and the book is for people that are just known non vegan it’s for everyone I just you know doesn’t need to be for vegan it can be you can eat meat but you know the idea is to slowly just make people try something different and not telling them you have to be vegan you know I don’t like to say this just I just like to cook something and don’t say what it is and I think that people like that they will get curious and they will change their palate I think that if you try to you know impose something it’s it’s not going to be a good reaction so I think that for the business and for like as a human being like trying to help my my idea is just to just to make the change slowly and I think that people they get it you know any more questions so our next go now for vegan divas we’re hoping in Columbus Circle location we’re working in a few other things locations and then we’re opening a licensed international tool it’s a big group that asking us to open and they didn’t come because was vegan but they came because there it’s a big hotel chain they own like seven hotels I cannot say yeah where it is but they they wanted to sell vegan Eva’s because it’s low calories so that’s why there were very interested in the products which is which is great because when it’s vegan it’s covering that too of course the our chocolate mousse is 150 calories versus another chocolate mousse would be like 400 calories so you know we’re covering many things in with one product which is great any question yeah what I think that I will see main strip vegan as a mainstream when I go to all the supermarkets and we have a big you know a lot of options of everything you know like the gluten free now which is the gluten free for me it’s a little bit dangerous because you know people they get caught up with gluten free and sometimes it’s not healthy most of the times but vegan is already it’s healthier anyways it’s healthier so I think that it would be mainstream when when you can go to every supermarket doesn’t matter the price you know because people have to afford that everywhere not just in New York City but when you can buy a product in every supermarket I think that it will be amazing yeah yes yeah my partner he owns Dunkin Donuts yeah and you know was to convince him was funny because he I brought we make the bacon doughnuts and I gave them a sample of the doughnut and he was in his board meeting so all the his partners and people that work with him they tried the doughnuts and they say wow this tastes better than the aankhen doughnuts and he was like okay so now I have to invest but in general it’s it’s hard to to sometimes convince people to do business because it’s a vegan business for example we do event at Saks Fifth Avenue you know and because I have this background with more like a traditional chefs or cooking or more like upscale but it’s still this they are really for them it’s really something you they don’t know what it’s vegan and and you know I just try to show them because if these guys these big chefs now they start talking about it and they start offering and there start cooking like this I think this will be mainstream too because these people these guys they lead the market so I think that you know it’s very important to just have them doing that and talking about it and you know just the more they do it’s it’s better for us but it’s really harder when you were a vegan business because people they say I don’t want to try if you want to if you want to have a partner for a non vegan business it will be easier of course it’s harder it’s much harder so we go to a few suppliers and it’s sometimes I have to get up in France or in Japan you know I have to go to the manufacturing most of the times and you know they have the it’s is hard it’s really hard so I have someone that it’s constantly sourcing out ingredients some ingredients are not available here yet so sometimes I can’t make something because we don’t have the ingredient and it’s it’s more it’s hard to get a better price too because for most of the ingredients is just one or two suppliers selling so which makes really hard I don’t have like ten people selling butter like its if it was butter so it’s it’s hard but it’s it’s becoming now more popular I’m trying to get the other suppliers to start having a line of vegan you know ingredients and I try to help them to go to other vegan business this way they can buy more you know so they can have more different things available to everyone because if it’s just me buying he’s not going to have something an ingredient just for me so I try to push him to sell to other people when you know but yes yes there are two or three suppliers and one of them I I just don’t like to do business with them I’m honest and you know so it’s always hard because you have to go to a not to just two suppliers and they don’t have everything or sometimes the price is hard because it’s hard to the product would be very expensive so it’s really hard but at the same time I keep the product like 100% the clean there’s no preservative its 100% well it’s not 100% organic because it’s impossible but everything that I can find it in the market that it’s organic we get organic it’s more expensive but at the end of the day I think not everyone will be able to buy unfortunately but the people that they want to spend a little bit more just to to have the best product they will buy it and I think that that’s is our target that’s a niche that is just becoming bigger now any question yeah so if she’s asking if I have an advice for someone that wants to start a big in business my advice is to start small if you want to sell a product just you know first you you ask your friends or people you know just to start in the small scale in your local markets or and you know and and just try to make get people tasting and you go get their opinion and it really has to be something that tastes good because if it’s not it’s not because it’s gluten-free that it’s going to sell and you really have to have your goal like really clear because you know most of the times you will you know want to give up because it’s still really hard every day every week I think like what am i doing this why don’t I just work for someone it’s just easier but no but I know that when I move to because I first I lost my dad very early with diabetes and he was very sick and you know when I came to America I realized there was this huge crisis in the health population I was working with a Coalition for health is good and I used to go to all the public schools and the kids they wouldn’t even know what it was being they never ate beans in their lives you know was really sad the first day I was like crying because those kids they were just eating chicken nuggets and the budget in the school is one dollar so they were everyday eating chicken nuggets and the worst quality of the burgers you know and they were feeding them like all of this horrible food and dairy and most of them they were lactose intolerant so America it’s it’s really everyone I think that we have to do something you know and what I what I can do it you know is with the food we can influence a lot with the food through the food so you have any questions I worked 20 years for Mercedes for mercedes-benz I was responsible for sales and marketing at first year in Germany and later for Russia 2008 I became vegan I changed my life completely I decided to start a new business in a vegan area and 2011 I founded the vegans GmbH and in July I opened a full range vegan supermarket here in Berlin really small store within 175 square meters from the beginning it became so famous and so popular and it was so successful in the first year we had sales from 1.6 million euros for this small grocery store it was amazing story and Higgins was in media all over Europe and in some blocks and worldwide and I decided to expand my business and I opened 2013 a second supermarket in Frankfurt and the third one here in Berlin and then the fourth and in Hamburg and yeah right now we have 10 supermarkets all over Europe one in Vienna and one in Park and Czech Republic and two years ago we changed our strategy because only to have vegan supermarket it was not my goal because we want to reach more people with vegan food and we want to bring the vegan lifestyle to everyone and because of this we decided to develop our own product line and we started with cookies and meat alternatives and we started the distribution business that means we signed some contracts with the largest grocery store chains here Germany with IndyCar for example with Kaiser Stanga man with me at all and at least with diem the end is a market leader for drug store in a drug store business and we build up there our own shelves with our products and right now we have in only in Germany more than four thousand distribution points where we are selling our products and we will reach this year more than six thousand here in Germany and we will expand our business all over Europe that means next month we will start our distribution in in Switzerland in partnership at co-op we will build up there one shelf in ambient area with 40 products and in the refrig area around ten products and in we will be in more than 200 co-op stores in switzerland next and later of July we will start distribution with Faust yeah we will deliver our goods more than 1000 per grocery stores all over Austria and and it’s important thing for you guys we will start the distribution and north of Italy in three hundred stores around South Tirol Boston area and Toscana and we will cover also Slovenia Hungary that’s our goal for this year I became in trouble up in my work and we can burn out and I changed my life and this time completely I I met a new girl and she was vegetarian and I invited her for for dinner and she told me no I I don’t want meat I am a vegetarian and overnight I became vegetarian because yeah because of this girl and later my kids were asking me why do you don’t eat meat I read some books and saw some videos some movies and internet and I began to think about my food and what what I eat and during five months I decided to became vegan it was not really difficult I changed my mind said completely I was thinking that milk comes from cows because they are eating grass then the difficult thing was to find the right products and the grocery stores so it was really difficult to delete the descriptions of food and that’s why I I decided to to found a grocery store for only vegan stuff most of our customers are not vegan they are vegetarian or flexitarians they are looking for food that’s sustainable it’s healthy and the most important thing is it’s delicious and we have to offer them our products in a one-block because they will not find our products in different places in a grocery stores we push our grocery store partners to bring our products in a right position in the supermarket maybe in front of vegetables because everybody is looking in a vegetable area or for foods especially here it’s a good place for our products I see no competitors because I’m not thinking about competition the veganism is it’s in a niche right now it’s only vegan products are really 1% or 2% from the whole range of food there’s so much space for everybody and our goal would be to support other companies we will help them to develop more new products and to bring them in shops of the supermarkets it’s our goal I want to be the enabler for the vegan and I will show CEOs are the managers they make the decisions for the assortment that vegan food it’s coming up you can you can earn money you can make money with vegan food and they will decide to bring more food in the shops that’s our goal the mindset of the customers are changing right now more and more customers are thinking about where as my food come from what about the transportation what about the agriculture one more people are thinking about this issues and they are thinking about the influence of environments far from food nobody was thinking about this issue two or three years ago and with new product with the weekend four of the plant based product you will show them at first you can have plant based products they are healthy sustainable and delicious it’s important thing and in the second step our customers are thinking about where this product come from and then you will change the mind of the customers in small steps in our experience for the flexitarians and vegetarians and omnivores it’s important to have alternatives that means meat alternatives cheese our challengers and fish alternatives they want to have the same taste from the products what they have from the animal based products it’s like a bridge from traditional food to plant-based food and they have to have the really good experience about taste that’s why that it’s so important for me to give them good experience with the products we will not open more vegan stores because you have to invest so much money to have some stores all over Europe Australia G is to bring the products in the grocery stores to show them to other plant-based products but our stores are important for they are work like a laboratory we can check out some or a figure out someone’s products but what is going well what is going not well what is tasty what is not tasty our shops are laboratories for food within this experience we can offer the best products for our grocery store our partners our goal is not to open more stores and also franchise is not in our scope right now because it’s really hard to earn money and to make it profitable only a full vegan store it’s not possible and I know what I say that first people cover the grocery stores I think it’s better for all of us to have 100 200 products all over the country for example Italy you can imagine that you have you can find 100-200 product and you are in your favorite grocery store and that’s our goal and if these products going well they will decide to bring more plant-based products they will change animal-based products to plant-based products I see this here in a German market we started with Attica 200-300 products and right now they are developing their own vegan products it’s a big big movements like a wave they come over the German grocery store business our growth in the last two years it was amazing we hired only in last year we hired more than 100 people new stuff and it’s really a challenge for us because you have to bring all these new guys in a right position you have to figure out will be able to make this job the best the best conditions and its really a big challenge for us and right now and summary we are one of 20 people they are working for begins i see the Regan idea the Regan lifestyle will be change our life in the next five years I heard the words of Bill Gates he was saying the future of meat is vegan these aren’t not only words I see really big big big opportunities to bring the vegan lifestyle in the middle of our society that means all the industries all the corporations or the companies will be invest a lot of money in plant-based food and plant-based clothes and plant-based chews and I see really big opportunities to give the big corporations idea of how they can money from this new business and our growth is amazing yeah we trouble every year our figures and it’s unbelievable for us I see a big inspiration for other companies and what we give them or what we gave them and I see the veganism in the next five years on a top of the industry channels
You don’t need money to start a business I got a great question for my YouTube viewers love you guys tank wahoo wrote in to say I really want to open my own vegan bakery slash cafe the issue here is money and I don’t even know in a kitchen I came up with baking years ago since my parents wanted me to become a nurse worst thing I did was give up on something I believed in and loved I’m still resentful towards them although really it was my own fault for not going with what I wanted this is a great question and I’ve got three bits of advice to help you with this problem number one is change your mindset you’re telling yourself a story that is holding you back right now you’re blaming your parents you’re blaming them because they had your best interests in heart they were looking out for you they wanted you to be a nurse even though it wasn’t your dream and you listen to them when you give up control of your life of your destiny and put it into somebody else’s hands you have nobody to blame but yourself so stop feeling resentful stop blaming them start looking in the mirror and saying this is on me to fix nobody’s going to give you your dream if you want to chase something it’s up to you to follow it number two is model success if you went out and took out a loan to start this business you would fail right now because you don’t know anything about running a vegan bakery cafe you’ll make a ton of mistakes and you could be in debt for the rest of your life so instead of jumping all in goal model success learn from someone who’s already doing what you want to do go find a cafe that you look up to that you respect who’s doing exactly what you want to become and go work for them learn the ropes understand what makes them successful get as close to the founder as possible take on as much roles and responsibilities as you can you’re getting paid to learn you’re getting paid to make mistakes you’re getting paid to make connections and you’re getting paid to get educated on how to run a successful bakery number three it starts small start right now with what you have you’re starting from here we have this desire to build a bakery your next step you see is being way up here where you want to open up your bake shop and you can’t bridge that gap right the only way you can see it is you have to get some money you don’t have the money you don’t know how to scale that big gap the way to do it is to take smaller steps break that down to the next step to allow you to start making forward progress you don’t start with a bakery you start by doing bake sales here’s a great example of a local Toronto and City vegan bakery cafe called bunner’s I first met the owner actually at a bake sale in the basement of a church she was selling gluten-free cupcakes and they were amazing she went to bake sale after bake sale after bake sale learning what works figuring out who her customers were understanding what recipes people really really liked she learned she saved up she started part-time before jumping all in when she saved up enough money and she knew she had customers she can call on and she knew she had products that people would actually buy she opened up her first location then she opened up another then she started a cookbook then she started a wholesale business and now she’s winning awards for best new bakery best dessert shop best muffin vegan or otherwise so change your beliefs and stop blaming other people model success and go work for someone who’s doing this right now and start small on the side instead of thinking you have to go all-in and launch your own shop and continue to believe for those you’re watching like the video subscribe to the channel see more just like it thank you so much for watching I’ll see you soon.
So you want to start eat vegan business if you’re not vegan get lost I don’t want to see you you cannot start eating in business if you’re not vegan you may make a few bucks you may make a return on investment but I’m here for the long term and if you’re here for a short game you’re not going to win right in life as you know it it’s a cliche everybody talks about a Garavito Lopez all the big people say that a tradition is a marathon never sprint ok so if you’re not vegan please go vegan then you can come back but if you want to start a vegan businesses it’s great because you understand from a consumer standpoint how vegans feel how they know how would you cater to they are and you’re kind of immersing that feeling so it’s a lot easier to go out there and deliver value because you know their needs you know what they need and then you can get value in return right because you cannot sell a thousand dollar package if you never invested a thousand dollars in yourself you cannot go ahead and sell things the vegans if you never put yourself in the vegans shoes right so you need to first of all know what people want and firstly don’t start a business because you want necessarily to help other people if you look at anything that has ever been created by big people it came from an internal struggle that they had to overcome it may have been expressing through other people but if first and foremost has to come in from something that you need to express and that hurts more for you to keep it inside to not solve it than to actually express it so what I mean is let’s say you want to start selling protein big vegan protein looks right well it has to come from a point where you love bread and you who want to get the protein and you have never found a vegan options then you go create you’re passionate about and you find a solution for yourself and then you want to share it to others that’s for me what I feel and that’s personal experience that’s what I know right I started for businesses five businesses in the past is the best position where you want to be because first of all your satisfy your true result your suck your filling your cup first and then you can fill up others because you have a solution to a problem other people face right so heads comes the same you need to start a business only if people are asking you for we need to solve a problem for yourself and then and people coming to you like hey how did you solve that right but again you have to start somewhere and you need to develop that skill so pointing kids let’s just make this fun is sweet let’s go right ahead and show you exactly a few businesses you can start first of all you can start a coaching business right you could go online and literally everything I want to show you is online why online because that’s automated right you can automate the process and you can kind of focus on which you view the time to focus on what you do best right because of course you can still do Brook mortar which is an absolutely great balla yeah but I invite you to think of the online process because as entrepreneurs we want to live a lifestyle right and that allows us to live the lifestyle grow community which is the biggest thing out there right now so coaching business what would you need of course you need some credibility you see some testimonials how would start a coaching business and very simple I would first of all build on my own transformation if I’m not shredded if I don’t look like a personal trainer I would not start a personal training business if you have experience in that niche or is the skill you want to develop first focus on yourself right get yourself shredded get yourself to a point where you realize you’re an ideal physique then go to others and say hey I want to do the same thing for you get at least get least 10 testimonials okay usually they say 100 testimonials yell at least 10 to establish your credibility right at the same time as you’re doing this and for any specific business start producing content start getting yourself out there start putting posting on Instagram so posting on YouTube start posting on a podcast start posting on any platform start writing blogs do anything that gets you out there promoted so that people can establish yourself as a credibility usually takes around six months to establish yourself as a credibility from the point where you start blogging every single day to the point where you are after six months right and it’s all about writing thousand word blogs or like doing fence videos it’s not starting ones quantity will lead to quality right the more you do it the more your brain will adapt and the more you will be able to produce great content others hence a point comes in from high-volume right so number one post content relevant to every business you want to start and number two get some solid testimony doing coaching what are you doing selling you Oh be online like I’m doing whether you’re selling scars whether you’re selling any specific product online what are your job shipping firms get 10 testing those 10 people who can represent your brand because they’ve already won for your your value exchange process and they understand what you stand for how you interact and it could absolutely prove that you are legit right because there’s nothing better than to then other people talking about you then you just talking about yourself right people will trust what others are saying about you than what you just say about yourself right logical so what I invite you to do is you can you’re coaching you can do sell products online you can do drop shipping you could literally go online and say how I saw jewelry you could literally start a beauty business which I’m doing I’m doing social media marketing I mean to help the in businesses with their social media grow their social media platforms online so they get more sales I sometimes also do product based so I hope is missus sell products online so input products coaching businesses you name it right maybe coaching services even like one-on-one interactions it really depends you could also do that but the same thing applies you need to build your skill build yourself from that special snap points you so you got your own transformation and then you help other businesses do it so you can say hey I’m starting this new business be really honest I built this in the past which allows me to establish myself in a credibility I just need your help I’d love to be able to work for you for one month 30 days 14 days see how I deliver results and then maybe you can give me a testimony and we turned censoring my beta group called a beta group because it’s your testimony where you only get testimony to the truth right same thing for jewelry you want to get your jewel first you want to set up your store set up your incorporation process don’t up with that legal it’s really really important and afterwards reach out to ten different influencers okay I would usually do in one location like say Montreal say Vancouver so one location specifically 10 influencers which are relevant to be in that niche and say hey I want to send you a free product keyword for me can be a brand ambassador I want to build a long-term relationship with you and usually more often than not they will say yes okay promising influencers are really great people they love working only understand as a new brand you want to build a relationship and they will be genuine about that okay so always build testimonials whatever you’re doing and how do you know exactly what kind of business you want to build very easy okay no overthink the process number one is just about starting right you just got to start and you got to get your foot in the door and then you could always read a rate right you might start off selling with rings and then you realize boom I want to sell necklaces boom I want to sell scars I want to sell hats I want to sell underwear I want to sell shirts bro you get what I mean so you always have to reiterate but the importance about starting that because I started b2b I realized I really like retail I’ll be like building brands so that’s what I’m moving more into okay maybe starting a restaurant we’re not sure yet I’ll keep you posted for that but the point is would you want to be remembered for and like I said in my other videos I want to be remembered for skill and a niche my skill is number one social media marketer in the vegan Miche you could be number one jewelry store in the beginning I’m sanctuary and the end digital marketing it would be number one hoodie store in vegan niche right and I always invite you to go specific don’t sell jewelry shoes clothes make it simple make it people come no I want to buy this I’m gonna go there don’t be a Walmart can’t be a niche and that’s where the money is to be made right now mm of course you can go a technical building website but once you identify what you want to do what you send for the product the the problem solving in that would people the consumers are thinking about specific mindset then it’s very easy for you to excel you just need to take the technical standpoint of building your store getting sourcing the products and bringing everything everything all together it comes to have to come with a vision the problem you are
