Science Shows a Vegan Diet Benefits Athletes

Hi everybody I want to let you know about a brand new paper that our research team published in the journal nutrients it’s all about how athletic performance can be fueled by a vegan diet well you’ve heard about vegan athletes there’s lots of them it started out with runners like Scott Jurek and Brendan brazier and rich Rolle and many others then in the world of tennis and then pro football people who are getting either most of the way or all the way to a completely plant-based diet it’s really upping their performance in a great way so our paper was all about how does that happen well the first step is kind of obvious when a person is on a completely vegan diet it’s the world’s best recipe for a healthy lean body weight and if you’re trying to be a competitive athlete and you’re carrying 20 pounds of extra flab you just can’t compete with a really lean folks so a plant-based diet is a great way to do that how does it happen because the high fiber intake tricks your brain into thinking you’ve eaten a lot of food and it stops you from eating too much secondly a vegan diet totally plant-based diet also revs up your metabolism for about three or four hours after every breakfast every lunch every dinner so your metabolism is more like it was when you were 16 but that’s just the beginning you also get better tissue oxygenation let me tell you what I mean when you’re running when you’re performing in a sport your muscles need good blood supply because that’s what gives them oxygen well you sat down for lunch you had a ham sandwich with mayonnaise and cheese and those fat particles get into your blood they make the blood more viscous more thick and so it doesn’t flow as well and the oxygen can’t get through to your muscles so you’re tire out prematurely instead throw that out make it the totally vegan meals that you’re eating and your blood is less viscous less thick that means it flows more rapidly the oxygen gets to your muscles and you’ve got that extra burn third what are those batteries that keep you going it’s called glycogen glycogen is stored energy it’s in your muscles it’s in your liver especially where does it come from comes from natural sugars and natural starches that’s the grains beans vegetables fruits the more these are in your diet the more your liver and muscle store glycogen so when the other people are fading away you’re still going strong put that vegan power to work whether you are a top level athlete or you just want to get across though your living room you want to go shopping maybe you want to play on the floor with your kids put that vegan power to work thanks a lot

WHAT A VEGAN FITNESS COUPLE EAT IN A DAY TO SHRED

What’s up guys and welcome to another episode so today’s video we’re going to show you everything that we both ate in a day I will pop all my macros and calories that I’m currently on at the moment but latest addition to the menu is this new blast routine we have just been on this black probably 2 to 3 days and we’re absolutely loving it so this one is a chopped coconut flavor we also tried the vanilla try which amazing and then they’ve also got a salted caramel which we haven’t tried I’ve also got some LSA this is linseeds sunflower seeds and also an almond meal I just pop that in my smoothie because it’s higher in fat and it makes it tastier good for 5 extra fiber guys and then also another healthy fat I put into my smoothie is peanut butter almond milk and then I only put in one frozen banana so I’m gonna whip this off show you guys the original [Music] oh my god is so great so to be totally honest with you guys I have not had the greatest week like mentally I’ve been really quite hard on myself this week and just had so much stress and doing this so much that I just kind of let myself go and I haven’t been like concentrating on me but I’ll give you guys a bit of a physique update so today is the first morning that I’ve woken up feeling it not so negative towards myself which sounds really bad but I have been severely bloated like all week where my stomach has just been in agony the only thing that I can put it down to is obviously stress and also because we had those burritos last week and I haven’t had wraps in a while and I thought maybe it could be gluten so I think I might have to get like an allergy test towards gluten because sometimes it does bloat me this is me first thing in the morning currently seven weeks out today not feeling too bad I’m feeling maybe like a week or two behind but I feel like I can definitely catch myself up and also everyone always asked me where I get my bikinis I get all my bikinis throughs Apple these are my latest pair they’ve got like little bananas on them they’re really cute and JD is going to have the same smoothie but he’ll have obviously different macros or in the process of currently signing you guys up to our four week program yes you tied babe the gram I’m gonna go make my smoothie but I get more calories than Amy tape I’ll be a big blob Caroline hundred hearts and bake so major here caught in the same weave the last place to go he’s usually in our Mayo section Tina the talking tell me I’m exactly the same it’s a lost fight for me to go not in my legs pshaw is the best vegan protein I’m going to say it right there yeah meet her a lot of you guys actually listen trance this thing that whisp want to buy final wanted that we do not get anything from final on like free or discounted own even have a discount code we only get that the team jack yeah we get I’m just can’t do it for you guys we get no affiliate no products nothing that’s what I was honest about heart we’re just completely transparent with you guys if we like a product to tell you and this is a product that we like so yes we will never tell you things that we don’t believe in and we like this so we’re still grinding it’s 11:20 you haven’t had anything else to eat yet just been signing you guys all up to our full weight jacked program so if you guys want to jump on board you probably still can and get Jack take your chocolate and the beauty of it is it’s only a four week program guys so you watch exactly and if you don’t have a lot of money this is more the program this is what we did it for is so that people with a bit less money and they didn’t want to commit to an eight-week program this is nice and quick JD’s just rippin up our favorite pasta showed you guys so many times but we’re gonna try the mung bean one because they didn’t have the fettuccine one in our local store how we make our pesto pasta this is something we get asked a lot so I’m going to show you guys one more time the ingredients and how to make it because it’s so easy so all you need is some baby spinach obviously some Faisel we use hummus lime juice nutritional yeast flakes and pine nuts or you can use cashews and we usually use a sprinkle of forget our part we’re going to use a little bit of this chicken stock so this one is vegan no MSG no animal content dairy free gluten free and plant base and what we do we never go by recipe or ingredients guys literally we just chuck it all in here and just go by taste test and this way every time it tastes different sometimes we don’t put a nutritional yeast flakes sometimes we put cash and sometimes like we said we use the forget off so it tastes different every time we make [Music] and that’s it guys so simple you got a blender or a food processor what’s that that’s the dishwasher alright guys so we’ve actually just had a bit of a light bulb moment here I put into my fitness power mung bean one right just to prove that like different sort of foods can have the packets not exactly always read the back of the packet as you can see for a hundred grams mung bean fettuccine 370 calories chickpea fettuccine 331 calories so if you are on a cut obviously we like to go lower our carbs so thirty six point seven grams of carbohydrates for the mung bean one if you check out the chickpea one only 23 grams so the same type of food can actually have different calories depending on the brand sometimes but also just angry just the ingredients because this is a bit of mung bean instead of chickpeas and also with the ingredients on the back like one all of them like they’re also like mung bean or chickpea they’re all edamame ninety percent of all these part all these pastas is made from edamame and then the ten percent is made from the mung beans or the chickpeas or a black bean so from now on we are definitely getting the chickpea 100 liter because that’s way way better macros and Colorado so you’re going to have our pre-workout feed Jani is gonna have his pasta the pesto and he’s also cooking up why not to release bags through them two of these veggie Delite not burgers and I’m just making up my protes I’m just going back on to rice flakes just because I enjoy them more than the quinoa flakes so I’ve got 40 grams of rice flakes and 50 grams of yoghurt 10 grams of less protein powder and just a splash probably not a splatter by milk a drowning a bomb and me [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] back from the gym I already had a first workout smoothie we ended up picking up the vanilla try and it tastes amazing so I’m about to make myself up like a person without food I’m absolutely starving what I’m gonna have is I don’t have two of these veggie sausages I’ve got some protein pastor there some pesto mix there got some avocado so I’m gonna make a salad and I want to make up some like garlic mushrooms as well and for my dressing I’m just going to use a balsamic vinegar JD just finished polishing off his body don’t make me say no last long the recipes in that for a bacon burrito and it’s so so quick and easy but the end result guys I’ve got my pesto pasta my two sausages got a salad with avocado also put some tin pineapple in there because I just love pineapple and cooked mushrooms there and I put some tumeric in there for trim works really good for anti-inflammatory and also put a little bit the chicken stock for an added salt as well so this is my biggest meal of the day and I always have it after my workout to refuel and refine my muscles and then I’m also gonna have some of this mineral water it’s got the peach play well I like the peach lime or raspberry and yeah this is zero calories and no sugar here eat this out on the balcony MJ days editing and I relax out here cuz I’m nature let me put down there some actually started incorporating these as well as a little treat for my dessert they’re gluten free wheat free but free lysate healthy but they’re the better yeah that’s it they’re the healthier version so there’s always a healthier option of something no matter what so this is the healthier option for cereal to get rid of those chocolate cravings paired along with simplest protein I’m having what do you got oh actually no added sugar dark chocolate with peppermint and then made with a reduced fat dark chocolate when it’s this allergy advice so it contains soy may be present serious pretend include milk tree nuts and peanuts that doesn’t mean it’s in it guys it just means that it it could be manufactured in the same sort of high protein snack and they’re also great at getting rid of parasites and worms as well I love chips like I love potato chips so these are sort of a replacement not good but yeah so tomorrow we’ll be going to Jenny’s parents place because they’re going on a cruise and we need to look after the puppy dog then you can say a lot of the puppies so yes next vlog will be at at just as parents and this dogs will be with us that’s exciting it’s gone of annoying because we like just move but we’re treating it as like a retreat so we’re gonna you know go there work on our mind you sauna and then but like it Merlin stops we are tired okay you couldn’t tell so it sorry with this whole weights been very hectic so we’re just trying to catch our breath at the moment yeah and yeah we’re just been working really hard so let’s wrap this video up so big thumbs up and subscribe if you haven’t already and hit the other up but until you guys get notified every time we upload it I will see you next morning guys and welcome to movie

Vegan Fitness Inspirational And Motivational video

Tory Washington didn’t hear me vegan that I no longer hear Sony about meaning I don’t put me on a pedestal I take compassion one to the heart and get back to not only the community reanima our environment like the world and the global status I think that wants me hey guys I am Stephen I run around with bodybuilding usually I wouldn’t be in five years ago after being raised luxury vegetarian I’ve never eaten a vegetable eggs investigating warns that the health consequences but I thought why people would like you to get these kind of dissing sisters after looking more deeply into the nativity a discovered video besides the dairy industry in order to avoid mystery eliminate area and the connection with the environment sometimes acquaintances it just wasn’t something I felt like printing so yeah that point on switched never been happier I’ve been diggin out for about six years I put at vegetarian for 10 years so overall plant base for about 16 years I went to my face while I went vegan well cafe specifically put animals when I made that transition going through the prison system bodies rethinking why I’m here and specifically to be a part of something that’s greater than me know if that makes sense that’s just a summary of my journey when vegan specifically put analyst and this lifestyle is one of the most beautiful lifestyle he’s found anyone out there that could anyone out there all right what’s going on everybody my name is Bhima Delgado 27 years old I’ve been being it for about three years but I was born and raised vegetarian and I’ve never eaten a piece of meat in my life my main goal for being a vegan bodybuilder is to just create awareness you know I consider myself to be a walker I consider myself to be aware since a very young age that I was taught not to eat animals because it’s just not my right as a human to choose whether or not something else lives or dies for my convenience and by being a bodybuilder you can just kind of take your body to the absolute extreme and there’s a lot of misconceptions and myths with bodybuilding especially being a vegan that you can never get enough protein you can never build enough mass you can never compete at the highest level while not consuming animal products and I’m a living testimony that you know I’ve never eaten a piece of meat in my life and I’ve been able to create this physique that many people say to be impossible but it’s I built this physique all cruelty free and I’m creating awareness for so much more than just animals I mean you know help the environment you know you help eliminate suffering from the world and the most important part is that you helped create the healthiest lifestyle possible I never had any kind of deficiency and I always ask people all the time you know if you could have more time on this planet with your family your friends your loved ones would you just give up a certain part of your diet to and the answer is always gonna be yes you know I’ve come across people that always talk negatively about veganism they said oh I’d never do that it’s the craziest idea I would lose all my games but you know I’m living proof and I just want to show other body builders and other influencers that it’s possible and you can compete just with the rest of the world solely with a plant-based diet if I can inspire one person in watching this video then I consider my job done that’s why and I just I went vegan overnight I never look back and my advice to anybody would just do your research that you know why you’re doing it if you’re passionate about it a greater purpose to a vegan your it’s gonna fuel you to keep going and seeming to spread awareness about it I mean you know why you’re doing it and just kind of enjoy it hi everybody my name is John Lewis a cave an ass beating I’ve been vegan for 11 years now I actually went vegan because my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer and do research and talking to the doctors and I found out that animal protein with the primary cause of her colon cancer and once I did that research I just pretty much never turn back from that point on it’s been 11 years now I think everybody should go vegan just for the simple fact that we’ve been kind of lied to about what’s healthy and was not healthy like I said before I had a guy try to argue with me about us being optiforce because we can digest animal protein but like I had a good friend to say we get that just plastic doesn’t mean a good force I’m saying if I can make one person meeting it would be whoever’s watching this right now if you’re watching this just really think about if you’ve ever thought about it you ever had like second thoughts people try to like talk you out of it if you really think is for you just do it there’s always going to be ridicule but no matter what you do step out the box he’ll do something goofy my piece of advice was somebody wants to go read it is just get ready for the mind frame it’s like anything else in this room it’s like want to be a winner you have that fine frame a winner doesn’t have your people try to stop you before the practice is going to work out whatever can’t see the same thing with veganism if you really want to be a vegan you got a lock out all the negativity this is Tim he can’t even crack it and I became vegan or living a vegan lifestyle about five years ago and I had dumped on a plant-based diet initially when I was sitting around in the hospital realizing that 80% of the people diabetes high blood pressure you’re putting in our meat supply is killing us eating meat in general is killing us not to mention the animals see that pot came next so I went from a plant-based started to the vegan lifestyle once I realize that I didn’t need any other creature on the planet to die adjust to feed me and it’s being a complete win-win ever son my only regret much like some of the other lads is that I never made even sooner I really wish I had now I heard someone say who’s the person in the world you would want it most to go vegan that’s definitely the most important people to you and that’s my family mom if you listen to this I really would appreciate if you had open your mind to the idea of a plant-based vegan lifestyle I know that we’re so set in our traditions in our coaches but if there’s any way that we can concede through our culture we can’t unknown what grandma didn’t know and now that we do I’m suggesting a vegan plant-based lifestyle 26 years old and I’ve been vegan for almost three years right now the one thing I really want to tell people if they ask me how to stay begin answers why there is a big problem say being in a sub just try to stay discipline for a few weeks maybe two months and after this time you can already feel is what’s changing like the benefits are so overwhelming that you really just have to stick with for a short amount of time until the disciplines transitions to a habit and as soon as we have to have it this hard anymore habits turns hard things for easy things that’s always my go-to approach I should try it transition slowly but constantly it’s funny because a lot of people always say so hard to stay in the retreat and turn vegan and I get those people because I was there too I even recorded video a few years ago telling people I could never go vegan and it’s all about your perspective expectations they say it’s hard it’s going to be hard if you say it’s gonna be easy the most important thing is that you just try you try to stay discipline for a few weeks a few months and it turns into a habit to a point where it’s gonna be easy for you you just stay on the vegan diet because there’s so much benefits coming with it it’s not only the recovery and the strength it’s also the feeling that you know you do something good for your environment you’re not only avoiding slaughtering animals they are also helping the planet and that’s a very big thing so my biggest request for everybody is before judging before talking how it could be how it is to try to yourself and make yourself an image what’s possible what’s not you.

What I Eat To Stay Strong & SHREDDED Vlog | Vegan Nutrient Analysis

That will fit not all the chambers you can tell me stories all right good morning guys so today I’m going to show you everything that I eat and drink in a day so you guys saw this morning I already had some lemon water always have that when I first wake up warm lemon water just feels so good really energizing super refreshing beyond that full of vitamin C minerals it gets your digestive tract going stimulates your limp so I definitely start off with some lemon a lot of try it for a month so you guys feel start off with a quarter of a lemon and maybe you know two three cups of water and you guys saw me throw some buckwheat into a bowl there as well and soak it I’m going to have that later on today after my smoothie after my workout so I wanted to soak it because if you guys know buckwheat gets a little bit like fly me high and if you just soak it for a couple hours beforehand it gets rid of all that so I’m just on my bike right now heading to the gym so I figured at least I’d show you guys you know that I’m doing some athletics and stuff today so you can kind of put it into some context what I’m consuming and I’m just going to pull off here and stretch a little bit before my workout like I do and I take a little pre-workout I’ll show you guys what I do there [Music] so this is what I usually take before my workouts called Vega where you workout energizer this version is a sugar-free version so sweetened with stevia but they do make a brown rice syrup sweetened one which is really great if you do them like long-distance sports or endurance sports however if you want to blossom the gym for an hour and a half I really like this one we’ve got your Vermont a which is source of caffeine devil’s claw which helps to reduce inflammation and help obtain green tea rhodiola which is an adaptogen it helps your body deal with stress ginseng definitely a little bit energizing there as well some sodium for the electrolytes turmeric help with inflammation potassium or electrolytes ginger ginger is a cool ingredient it helps other ingredients work together so it’s a synergistic ingredient where it helps other things absorb into your body and make them more bioavailable so ginger always very cool to see so you can see not a whole lot of crap in this and then just stevia beetroot powder acai and pomegranate flavors note it so I put a scoop of this into a little bit of water just a little bit of that lemon water still from this morning and shift it up in about 20 minutes blast off so I got to get warm it up I’m going to warm up have my workout I’m not going to fill a lot of that because that’s not the point of this video I get carried away with these that’s why I don’t have to do them and what I eat in a day I like to them all the other stuff so gonna cut off here maybe show you guys you know bit of what I drink through my workout what I consume through my workouts keep you going and then I’ll show you my smoothie once I get home so we got a stretch warm-up it’s awesome you guys can see what I eat all day get these games [Music] [Music] so I didn’t film much of the work out just a few movements that were easy to film there’s a nice ledge where I set up my camera to get the shot and there you can see crystal working out – that’s my girlfriend she’s awesome vegan – she’s getting stronger here’s meeting there’s some concentration curls I’d never do these kind of funny that way you caught this on still try and get those me Maya Delgado arms so here’s the big intro work out drink just water not that exciting so I just had an awesome workout really good push day so just had an awesome workout really good whole day feels so good I felt really strong today so rather than doing bodyweight stuff I just did some like heavier lifts and deadlift bent over rows seated rows wide grip rows narrow grip it could be like something like dumbbell curls and stuff I don’t always do nude at all it was fun and heading home now to make a smoothie and starving got a big day also work ahead of me so let’s go make a smoothie got to get home first you know what’s up Harry time for my post-workout smoothie so you guys follow me much you guys will know what I make already but here we go 6 bananas a couple handfuls of blueberries 3 big and medjool dates I’m using that protein powder half a scoop of that right there it’s a fermented vegan protein but jinhwan amazing taste so good let’s try it digest really well – 2 tablespoons flax you know some turmeric and black pepper in there and then just pile on the green that’s arugula nice and spicy green super alkalizing full of minerals filtered water blend it all up and I had pulled out some purple cabbage and I always put like a chunk of lemon in there as well I forgot to do that so I’m adding it now the Vitamix is amazing it will blast through anything like that same with the Blendtec any of those high speed blenders they’re so powerful it turns that lemon peel into just a silky smooth delicious post-workout smoothie so here I am taking the first sip I love it every time it’s just the best that is how you recover from a workout guys plant fuels keep the inflammation down refuel those muscles with glycogen lots of antioxidants lots of nutrients tons of minerals and vitamins if you’re just doing protein and water after your workout you think you’re helping yourself you know get on board so now I’m going to go and crush this smoothie and do some work answer some emails help my clients probably have some meetings and now it is time to eat some buckwheat so you can see here it’s a little bit slimy the water turns is kind of like pinkish color which is kind of neat so I just rinsed all that off just strain it and you could probably even eat it like this if you want but I like to cook it a little bit so that’s one cup of buckwheat just so we can easily count this I don’t usually weigh it like that or measuring like that but this is what’s all going in there so we got buckwheat that’s a cup of dry buckwheat and then we have an apple and we’ve got some canned peaches in there you guys have ever tried Okanagan peaches from British Columbia Canada they are to die for so I’ve talked it with some pumpkin seeds sunflower seeds from shredded coconut some raisins some cinnamon and some organic almond milk so this is a healthy lunch this is how I stay lean I stay shredded I build muscle on a vegan diet by eating things like this a bunch of processed and packaged scrap foods like this guy’s gotta be real food alright just got my hair cut I like it nice and short good for the summer I didn’t finish all my food so I’m just finishing it now why would I do that take a bite when I’m trying to film I have a couple errands to run in town and then I’m going to jet home keep working a little bit and then hopefully I have time to do a little workout outside well ab workout before dinner make some dinner good day so far big eating day feel good alright so it’s been doing some work and I’ve got a craving and that craving is movement like I move my body for a little bit I’m going to just work on some ABS and I guess a bit of cardio so I got my pull-up bar today I’ll be doing some like leg raises and stuff on my slackline just for fun got the battle ropes out got the rope and the tree over there we vert dip bars pretty set up I’m going to grab a yoga mat and put it out here as well and just smash it 25 minutes just big for lots of different things just keep moving have fun and then I’m going to be good and hungry for dinner and I’ll show you guys what I make for dinner tonight it’s going to be awesome at a big day I guess I could voice over this quick little workout that I have this is the backyard set up I’ll do a whole video on this perfect pretty cool and I got some rings and the slackline that I was just on really good for balance good core workout and get pretty creative on it you please ring just hang in the tree and I keep those ones up all the time I have some wood ones which are a bit nicer but I can’t full-time just student some leg raises from even pole that’s that bands which a nutbar I made if you guys saw my last video I think woods or two videos ago I go over the making of that pretty fun that’s why spending for the bamboo but it doesn’t just break it like a dowel was it does start to crack it just keeps its integrity for some reason amazed and amazing building material so knee raises and now I’m doing horrible and now I’m doing a little like hip dusters I think I have that a old ABS video that I did [Music] alright it’s time for dinner and I am hungry so here’s dinner you can see it all Whole Foods all good stuff of some sauerkraut there you can go on the side take care of my good gut bacteria keep everything healthy so we are what we absorb you guys know that so these lentils here are going to provide the bulk of the calories from the dish and they’re also going to provide a lot of protein and tons of fiber going to fill me up so that’s what I’m using they’re organic lentils so salt free no salt added can of lentils you can make your own but I just want to show you how simple and how quick and easy this could be and I also needed a easy simple meal idea so I didn’t have some like big plans of what I was going to make for dinner I just kind of looked and saw what I had as a base and I saw the lentils and I just grabbed a bunch of the veggies that I had in the fridge and pull them all out just decided what I was going to make so here I am sauteing some veggies you guys will notice there that I put some water down first on a hot pan I often use water instead of oil for a variety of reasons you guys curious I could probably make a whole video on that but basically I don’t need it oil doesn’t really do anything for me I eat my fats from whole food sources here’s another little trick I learned make a little oven with the cooked food for the uncooked food so that it cooks and kind of schemes in there I’m doing the same with the peanut there so just chop up a bunch veggies I just love how this down kind of meditative Wow and there we have it dinner is done so that wasn’t too hard and that’s a lot of food I ate a lot today and it felt amazing I felt energetic and never bogged down all day and I am going to show you guys this little treat I’m gonna have after dinner I try not to eat much after dinner but I made these the other night and they’re so good basically just peanut butter and ground flax and date I’ll blend it up together think there’s a little bit of vanilla in there too cinnamon as well so good anyways let’s eat dinner alright so that’s it for this video I’m starving tired to the long day but a lot of activity I’m a delicious dinner it looks so good very excited eat it so as you can see I mean you’re not going to lose all your muscles do you go vegan you’re not going to feel deprived I’ve had lots of delicious food today I’ve been satiated all day I’ve eaten a lot like the volume of food is quite big that I’ve eaten if you’ve noticed and I stay lean and trim and strong and high-energy my digestion is good I hope I’ve inspired you guys today that’s what a vegan nutritionist feeds could look like this please comment down below I’d be interested to see what you guys think of this video I’m trying to post more so I just posted one yesterday already film it or another hopefully I can keep it going keep these going more frequent thanks so much for watching I do really really appreciate it go eat alright so thanks for sticking around to the end guys I’m just going to analyze sort of everything I ate today and show you the nutrients and the profile so this is everything I ate you guys can write it down if you want and eat just like me so here the sort of an overview I guess nutrients 3000 calories close to hundred grams of protein over 600 grams of carbs holy that’s a lot and just under 40 grams of fat over 600 grams of carbs guys next time someone tells you carbs make you fat tell them about me please so here are all the rest of the nutrients the minerals and the vitamins and I am crushing RTI’s so we’ll start at the top left and go from general down the carbs fats protein then back up to vitamins down a minerals so we talked about the calories 3,000 cows and I guess I should put into context how much I weigh and how big I am everyone’s always asking what are your stats and I’m not a huge guy but I guess the camera is kind to me people are always surprised when they hear that I’m only about 64 65 kilogram usually around 145 pounds and then five six with shoes on so not a big guy at all but hey I’m working with what I got and I love it so we got no alcohol no caffeine some caffeine in that pre-workout I’m not that shy of caffeine I’ll have a cup of coffee here and there a bit of green tea there’s that water isn’t activating – except during more than that I probably drank posted two and a half liters that day three liters is my goal I really get quite that much 600 grams of carbs we talked about that it’s incredible carbs are our fuel and they don’t make you facts I’ve been eating this much for a long time and I’m as lean as can be so you guys can tell over a hundred grams of fiber that’s very high I think I already is 35 and I know most Americans don’t get there so 102 is super good get things moving through reduce the toxic low in your body fat 40 grams I guess we should touch on the sugars I’ve never even looked at that number coming out to be if it’s attached to fruit and not a refined sugar like I’m not worried about it at all so I’m not even talk about it fat 40 grams I think they’re the are I don’t know what that set at maybe 50 grams it looks like would be like the hundred percent and I’m happy with 40 between 40 45 grams somewhere around there it’s probably good I could have had a bit more if I had a ripe avocado it would have been higher trust me so a lot of those fats are omega-3 fats from the flaxseed and omega sixes are very low which is unbelievable you want a pretty close ratio there and mine’s almost two to one which is unreal absolutely incredible the average American I remember hearing a statistic is close to 18 to 1 6 to 3 so yeah pression an anti-inflammatory good thing to build your cell membranes with full of you know healthy fats these are the ones that you want to be consuming no cholesterol and then we’re going to protein so hundred grams that’s quite a bit that’s more than I thought that I was getting so it’s a lot of protein and it’s only a half a scoop of protein powder so it’s only about I think it was 12 grams of protein of that 12 grams of that is protein powder nonfat all the all these essential amino acids are well well represented you can see there the branched chain amino acids isoleucine leucine and valine or valine some people call it those are all well met leucine supposed to be a hard one to get on if you can diet and I’m just crushing it at over 200 percent 230 percent of that so nope wrong building muscle over here guys trust me so all the vitamins are met as you guys would assume except for b12 which you need to take a supplement if you’re a long-term vegan and then all the other vitamins have been met just you know in vitamin A some people get alarmed when they see it that high our body is fine with consuming that much beta-carotene and plant-based vitamin A however preformed vitamin A that comes from meat in that amount it could definitely be pro cancerous and not good for us vitamins vitamin C Goods vitamin D I did not get 100% of that because we get that from the Sun and if it’s not if you’re not in the sunny environment or you know you’re not getting a lot of Sun and it probably has to supplement that look into a vegan d3 supplement vitamin E look at that over a hundred percent there and that’s probably thanks to some of the nuts and seeds that I was eating vitamin K a lot lots of that so that my body is times the k2 turned into vitamin k2 and then everything else down here minerals and all that exciting everything’s met some people some Keener’s might notice that calcium is 775 I think I got there I can’t see it’s really really tiny but I know it’s over a hundred percent however the sort of RDI that comes from I think the USDA s thousand milligram I don’t think that we need that much when we’re doing other things to stimulate our bone density and there’s a lot of you know evidence to prove that and if you guys are really curious about it you know ask me in the comments and I can provide you with some but a lot of communities that don’t eat dairy and don’t consume nearly as much dairy that we do and have far less calcium intake have a lot better bone density is basically what it comes down to so I’m fine and I haven’t broken anything since I’ve been vegan and I’m pretty reckless so copper iron manganese magnesium phosphorus potassium they’re all met look at that potassium people would think that with all my bananas I was like a billion times you know like lethal dose of potassium not even note 183 but you didn’t know that pretty cool selenium was met I didn’t even have a Brazil nut look at that sodium you know I didn’t add any salt to my stew that day I don’t think but there’s probably more than that maybe in the salsa and that sort of thing and then zinc was met probably with pumpkin seeds and buckwheat got a ton of zinc as well so look at that guy’s I didn’t even really plan this date I just ate what I had and what I liked and I met all my nutrient requirements I felt satiated all day I ate delicious food it didn’t take me a long time to prepare it it was all Whole Foods and you know what look at how cheap all of that food is it’s incredibly cheap so honestly guys get on board with this and I know a lot of you guys are already happy to inspire if you guys have any questions leave them down below thank you so much for sticking through this all the way to the end you guys are Keane and you guys are serious about your health and I love that and respect that mad respect to all you guys that are taking your health to let you guys know that on our website my national sisters comm we have a giveaway we do giveaways each month and this month we are partnered with a special brand Lush Cosmetics they absolutely love this brand they also cater to vegans in a lot of ways and I absolutely love their products been using them for years and two people are going to be chosen to win a hundred dollar gift card all to Lush Cosmetics go ahead and click the link down below if you guys finish watching this video to my natural sisters com2 in turn it is free to enter okay also make sure that you guys also follow us on snapchat because we have been sending up in a little bit more since we have a little bit more time and yeah so now for the juicy stuff what have I’ve been eating okay I’m going to give you guys a lowdown on what I eat pretty much on a high day into my competition so my competition is July 30th the Lila burrata show in PC competition sticking to this diet has been it’s been a breeze but these last couple of days for some reason have been like really really challenging but I’ve been carb cycling these past three weeks so I have like a high day where I eat a bit more higher calories and higher carbs and then have a really really low day where I’m eating really low cal lower calories and lower carbs but basically my calories range right now because they tape it off since I’ve started dieting for this competition they have been tapering off slowly and so have my carbohydrates so do I recommend this diet for someone to get in shape on a daily no I don’t know to me it is not healthy this is not a Oh a like this everyday you can totally mess up your metabolism so my calories have been ranging from anywhere between 1100 in 1350 M our carbohydrates on a high day are about 95 grams to 100 grams they basically below 100 grams and in on my low days they’re about 45 grams to 50 max grams on a low day so I just one let you guys know no I will not continue to eat this way after the show I will keep you updated on how I’m doing I am looking into doing a reverse side I’ve been researching to figure out what’s going to be best for me I do not plan on going back to where I was to the way I was eating before where I was eating a ton of calories way to me for my body and way too many carbohydrates I’m not doing that but I’m also not going to continue the diet that I’m on now because it is not healthy so I’m going to find a nice medium in between and go from there and I will keep you guys updated on that as well so let’s start with breakfast okay so to start my day off I’m going to have a oatmeal tofu smoothie and I’m going to use my Vitamix blender to get the job done so I’m going to use 1/3 cup of oats about 1/3 cup of strawberries I’m going to use 1/4 of a block of firm tofu and I’m also going to add in half a cup of unsweetened vanilla cashew milk and I’m going to add about 8 to 12 ounces of water and I’m going to blend it all up for about 10 to 15 seconds and I am going to serve it in a mason jar and on top of it I like to sprinkle a bit of cinnamon that instead that this hopes to also burn fetch I don’t know I just really like taste and stir it all up and that is breakfast okay so from our post-workout meal I do just a simple protein shake using my garden alive organic a protein powder this is the vanilla flavor and I just simply mix it with water and I do this twice a day once from after my first workout and once after my second and as an on the go snack have packed a apple cinnamon rice cake here for when I needed and I eat this before my lunch so for lunch I am going to do tofu sweet potatoes and broccoli in I like to go ahead and preset the oven for my sweet potato to about 425 degrees Fahrenheit and of course I rinse my sweet potato out and I poke holes with a fork inside of the sweet potato just so to cook faster and more thoroughly and I wrap it in foil and put it in a non-stick baking sheet pan and I let this cook for about an hour and during that hour I prepare my other food so I’m going to start off with boiling some water for my frozen broccoli I’m going to add three cups here of frozen broccoli Emma let this cook while I prepare my tofu so I’m going to use extra firm tofu here and I’m going to use a knife and a cutting board to do job and I’m going to cut half the block into fours and I’m going to cut this side that I’m using it to 16 pieces and I’m going to use eight pieces for lunch I’m going to eat eight pieces for dinner so to flavor my tofu I’m going to use onion powder garlic powder ground cumin and paprika and I wait until the water warms up a bit and then I add in my seasonings and I kind of mix it up a bit and then I add in my tofu and kind of saute it and let it cook and I cook this all the way through until the water kind of runs out and tofu holds a lot of water so I try to cook it to where there’s not a lot of water in the tofu so during that time while my tofu was cooking up I strain out my broccoli and I began plating and I only eat half of the sweet potato here and I like to sprinkle on top some cinnamon because I love cinnamon and I’m also going to use some salt free chipoltle a seasoning by mrs. – and I’ll spring some on top of my tofu so that is my lunch ok now off to my afternoon snack I’m going to use my chocolate protein powder unsweetened cashew milk and organic frozen strawberries in some water so in the blender I’m going to mix two scoops of my chocolate protein for strawberries 1/2 a cup of unsweetened cashew milk and about 16 ounces of water and I’m going to blend that up for about 10 to 15 seconds in my Vitamix and I am going to drink that all up and now I’m having dinner so I’ve already precooked my tofu in my brown rice and so all I’m going to do here is cook my frozen asparagus and I’m going to cook the whole entire pack I’m going to eat the whole entire pack it’s not really a lot of calories but it looks like it and I let it cook for about six to eight minutes let it boil strain my asparagus and then i plate my food so all I’m gonna have is my 8 pieces of tofu in a half a cup of brown rice plain Jane and on top of my asparagus I like to use lime juice it’s zero calories zero sodium with mrs. Dash’s salt previous the lime seasoning and voila that is it so all someone like to add that I do drink about two gallons of water a day and I’m also taking a Fabri and I know they mentioned this earlier but it is by alpha mean and I also came across a vegan friendly VCAA powder but Lila Prada himself the guy who’s hosting the show that I’m actually going to be competing in okay so that’s the insight on my diet and it changes and it has changed constantly throughout the whole entire process and how it came about planning my diet I read a vegan muscle in bodybuilding book it’s called the vegan Muscle & Fitness guide to bodybuilding competitions in this book and I’ll show you what it looks like here on the cover has helped me out a ton and I also got tips from Danny my trainer and Carmen babysit say um also gave me tips along the way of you know what to do and what not to do as well I have been doing my diet this whole entire time and I pretty much used this book as a guide and pretty much tailored the meal plan to fit my needs and I’ve learned a ton by just doing my own diet myself so diet Liz was my little baby in this whole situation and training is pretty much Diddy so I want to give you guys the rundown on what my workout routine is during the week sunday is just simply a cardio day and we’re almost one week out from the show I’ve been cutting down on my cardio but for the most part I’ve been doing 45 minutes to an hour of cardio and I’ll try to switch it up sometimes I do Stairmaster sometimes I get on a treadmill um lately I’ve been like these past two or three weeks for like two weeks I don’t know I don’t know it’s like two and a half weeks I don’t know I’ve been going to the track so I’m going to track with Danny and I’ve been to the track requirement once it was a wake up call because I had ran track in long a long time I don’t like running but I needed to get my legs down my legs are pretty thick they’re hefty but I like my legs but for the show you know you gotta be a little slender than usual so um the track has much definitely hope that Danny and I we do Sprint’s bleachers job this job the Straits walk the curbs what I gave a car man was we pretty much sprinted the straights in job the curves I think five times around the track but there’s different different routines different workouts you can do the track and it pretty much helped get my legs down mondays are two a days I have five days out of the week where I workout twice so that’s like a cardio in a weight training day on Mondays I do cardio in legs and on Mondays I work out by myself or train by myself um and I’m pretty good with training my legs I feel confident all that stuff so I’ll do cardio you do it in the afternoon or the evening but I’ve been doing my weight training in the morning and my cardio in the evening all the days that I work out by myself that I wait trained by myself so Tuesdays I work out with Danny then the man and I do cardio in the mornings and I do back and biceps with him on Wednesdays Wednesday is another just playing cardio day it’s my choice of what I want to do for cardio Thursday is another day that I work out with Danny so I do cardio in the morning and I wait train with him in the afternoons and on Thursdays we do shoulders and we train hamstrings so we do shoulders and hams on Thursdays Fridays I train with Danny again I do cardio in the morning and we do legs together and so we hit legs Saturday I train by myself it’s another two a day and I’d like to do my weight training in the morning just to get it out of the way but if I can’t sometimes I’ll do cardio in the morning when I weight training by myself but I do chest and triceps in the morning on Saturdays and cardio in the evenings and sometimes here and there Danny will have me work on other muscle groups with him if I need the extra help like my triceps it was so hard for me to like they were being stubborn so it’s hard for me to trigger that muscle so he held me I’ll take quite a bit I’ll work out three times out of the week with Danny and he’ll give me the you know tips on what I should do for cardio or you know training certain muscles like my tries or my legs he’ll give me tips on what to do when I’m by myself so he has been such a big help to me in such a guide and such a great friend throughout this whole entire process he’s an amazing trainer and I couldn’t ask for more I’m so happy that I’ve met him how we begin our training through this room we began preparation for the show is we did heavier weights in less reps and so now that we’re getting closer I guess you call that bulking so it was bokken moon doing heavier weights less reps that was with during our poking phase and now that we’re closer to the show we have been doing lighter weights in more rifts so we’re in a cutting phase right now and he’s getting ready to cut my my cardio just so I can retain most a little bit more and yeah we’ll start depletion next week so I’ll be cutting out my water and I’ll be taking some diuretics in order to release water weight from my body so that you can see the muscle definition a bit more he said I’ll be cutting out my protein shake so my diet of course is going to change and I’ve got to be hydrated so that should help out with the tofu retaining water stuff like that if I have to increase my tofu or tempeh intake tempeh doesn’t really have a lot of water but it’s the tofu does but yes so that is my workout routine I do want to mention that I believe that you can train for show without the use of a fat burner and other supplements I’m using them because I ran into diet issues earlier on in preparation for the show and needed substance pastor in order to be competitive so if you’re doing it without subs allow yourself a generous amount of time to prepare for a show okay so if you guys have any more questions or comments please leave them down below so that I can interact with you I will be posting my last video next Friday before the show so I will see you guys then love you

VEGAN SUMMER SHRED UPDATE/ MY FITNESS JOURNEY THUS FAR

Hello and welcome back to my channel today I wanted to share with you my finisher needs fr not just the summer shred but I’m going to kind of share my story from like how I got started into like a fit lifestyle back when I was about eighteen and nineteen that’s when I kind of started working out and like doing this so I’m going to show you where I’m at right now and then I’m going to kind of talk about how I’ve gotten there so far if you watched my videos recently you’ll know I’m doing like a mini summer shred for summertime so definitely have stepped up things a notch which I’ll talk about so first I’m going to show you our mat right now [Music] [Music] okay so now that I have put a shirt on and you saw kind of where I’m at now I want to talk about like how I got there so if you watch my more recent videos you know that I’m doing like a summer of vegan summer shred and if you were watching me for longer than that you know that I’ve been doing the world’s slowest cut because I took like a long time to kind of get myself back to the good balanced and maintainable place so I want to share with you my entire story today starting from when I first like steps foot into a gym I’m one of my most asked questions is like how did you get into fitness or what is fard you to start working out or anything like that so back in the day I was a dancer performing arts was and is my passion like I love to entertain I want to be on stage in front of a camera just like yes ant stands like that’s just that’s just my that’s what I live for so I was dancing for years I taught dance I did competitive theater and I was a choreographer and I did the whole night I did that for for a while and then I hit a point where I kind of felt like I was at a crossroads with dance because it was like I either had to basically like move to New York or California pursue dance or kind of just find a normal thing to do and I decided to go to school and give that up I was dancing every day my day was basically like I would wake up while I was in high school I was in a social program so I would dance during the day I would dance after school I was go to dance classes or I go teach dance so I was very very active I didn’t have to worry about what I ate I pop-tart Oreos like I had some disordered even eating habits but I did not recognize it at the time I was very very insecure about my body but at the same time I like crap I think a lot of people can relate to that I didn’t know how to be healthy I didn’t really care because I didn’t put on a ton of weight from eating McDonald’s and Wendy’s because I was so active so once I came at that point were like I had to kind of I kind of stopped dancing and I was focusing on on school obviously all of that activity suddenly stopped I got a job at the gym ironically I was not into working out I just got a job there and I would be sitting the whole time so I worked at a desk and then I would go to class and I’d be sitting in that come home and I’d be studying or writing a paper and I be sitting and I would still was still eating the same so after a while that started to catch up with me so I was eating ramen noodle and McDonald’s and all this stuff and I started to go kind of fluffy so like I said I was already an insecure child like child I was already an insecure young girl that the insecurity started getting a little worse because I started to feel kind of fluffy and all the go my pants are feeling a little tighter like oh I got some little handles going on here I started to feel more insecure and it was not comfortable in the bikini and I was a little unhappy about that so I was like okay I probably should stop eating pizza and ramen noodles every day and I should probably take advantage of my free gym membership because I worked at the gym right so I committed myself to three days a week that’s like I was like if I do to three days a week I’ll be pleased with myself and I wrote it on a big calendar in my room I was like honestly I probably only made it one or two days a week for a while I didn’t know what I was doing I would run a lot because that was the only thing that I knew like I would just run on the treadmill I didn’t really know what to do with dumbbells or anything like that and as far as eating I slowly started to change the things that would eat like I kind of just stopped going to get fast food you know I was around people who were personal trainers all the time so I kind of would ask them for help and they would be like like oh like have a salad so I started like pushing things out for healthier options and then I got the opportunity to move to California and that was like a dream come true for me because like California is where I want to be and my heart has been there since I was little like I don’t know what what it is about that place it it calls me and so I went out there with my friend and other than my one friend I had nobody out there no friends no family I had to get a new job and I had so much alone time that I was like you know what like I’m not going to I’m not going to just give up my whole new healthy lifestyle that I was attempting to start I say attempt because I failed a lot and since I had nothing else to do because I met friends to hang out with and have to be at school because I pretty much dropped out of school to go to California I would go running outside I would run up and down the stairs I would do push-ups and squats and all kinds of stuff and who knows what my form was right or wrong but it started to feel really good because I was doing something just for myself and it was like every day it was like this little accomplishment and I started to feel like oh this is like like this is kind of fun like my workouts was probably 20 minutes long they were not anything crazy but it was it was fun because like because I missed I had stopped dancing and I really missed that like getting that movement and just like kind of getting in the groove but listening to music on my headphones like it starts to feel good and I started being very consistent and I would do it almost every single day and I was like okay I’m still going to keep it I was eating like Greek yogurt and oatmeal and smoothies and stuff and I was just like making healthier choices remember I said my first progress picture because I was like you know what I’m working like I want to see if there’s any changes in my body so I took a progress picture and I’m a raptor like a few weeks I compared them and I was like wow I actually look a little different like my waist looks a little tighter and so then I was very motivated to keep going like once you if once you get through that first little like rough patch of getting motivated and you see some sort of progress or you feel it and I didn’t weigh myself at the types of witness skill but once you see that first bit of progress you kind of get motivated to continue and so I wanted to keep going I didn’t really know how to how to step things up I didn’t have a plan I was following nothing like I wasn’t even like like I had I wasn’t there wasn’t like Fitness people on Instagram or maybe there was but I didn’t know about it at the time so I ended up coming back to Florida and I was a little bit sad about it but I was happy to be with my family again and I got my job back at my gym that I was working at and I was like you know what now I I really like this whole working out feeling healthy thing I want to like step it up I want to keep going so I asked my friend Jason with a trainer at the gym to help me out and he would I would I would stay after work and wait for him to be done with his clients and like have him show me like showed me the way like and he would show me how to use the machines and stuff and like having that help like honestly changed my life because I would not have probably I probably would have been too intimidated to do anything unless somebody had showed me and helped me along so it’s Jason if you’re watching this Thanks I started to work out like you know a few times a week like I would had a little routine going okay man do like today okay I’m gonna do chest today and I was like just really enjoying it because I wasn’t working for any sort of specific goal I was just doing it because it felt good and like that’s honestly I think the best way to start is to do it for yourself you have to do it because you enjoy the exercises and you have to do it because you know you want to so I never did anything I didn’t want to do like for example I don’t like Zumba I like everything else other than Zumba I love dance I love to work out I love salsa I love hip-hop dancing I love it all I don’t like goombah so I’ve never taken a Zumba class like don’t do what you don’t want to do so after a while of kind of just doing that and stuff I definitely noticed changes in my body but I wasn’t I didn’t have whole lot of muscle development and I would get um there were bodybuilding coaches that went to my gym that would kind of come up to me and be like you compare have you ever thought about competing because you have like a good you know good figure to you know you can set consider it and I was always kind of like at like I went to one bodybuilding show to support my friend and I saw with the bikini girls look like and I thought they looked good and everything it just wasn’t it really interests me I wasn’t like wow I want to do that like I never I never felt like that and so they would say that’s mean I’ll be like oh like I’m so flattered but like now I just kind of do this I like working out just for me and then I went through a breakup and at the end of that relationship one day one of those coaches came up to me and said you should consider competing and I remember I went told my boyfriend at the time Oh so-and-so says that I have a good figure for competing like isn’t that so cool that he said that about me and my boyfriend was like what are you talking about like you don’t have to figure for that like you’re not athletic enough like you’re not fit enough like he basically told me like I didn’t have what it what it takes and I was like you do like do you know like he obviously didn’t know who I was because he didn’t know how ambitious I could be about something so we broke up very shortly after that conversation that’s not why we broke up but they just didn’t help and then after that I hit back one of those coaches up and I was like a like yo like you said that I may have what it takes to compete like I want to try it out I just want to do it one time I just want to do one show see how fit I can get really learn how to workout like a bodybuilder and and do it for fun like just do it because I enjoy it so during that time I really liked what became so serious and I was just like I’m ready to have just to feel good about my body to know what I’m doing in the gym like I was just ready for a switch it was like turning a switch on in my head and I always tell people that like when it comes to making it the decision to have a fit life it’s honestly like flipping a switch that you are capable of it from day one like from way before I was to California when I was trying to commit to three days a week at the gym I was so capable of it but I just didn’t flip that switch and then after my breakup that switch flipped and I was just like this is what I want to do like I am serious about this I want to feel good I want to look in the mirror and be like damn because I didn’t really feel like that and so I trained my ass off I was so committed I was on point with my diet like I did not cheat like a thing on my diet when I was competing like I was so so dedicated I didn’t miss a cardio session I did everything I was supposed to do and I really learned how to workout because my coach trained me like a whole five days a week in the gym so I learned I learned how to do it because I made that decision I flipped that switch and I decided that I was going to be so serious about my priorities with health and fitness I lost a lot of friends I lost pretty much all my friends that I had at the time because they thought I was no more fun because I didn’t want to go out drinking they thought I was weird because I would show up to dinner parties and not need anything because nothing fit my you know my my meal plan and they would make fun of me I got made fun of publicly on Facebook I got made fun of publicly on Twitter people would come up to me in the gym and say things to my face like like people would I would hear literally hear people talking about me like right there people that I knew that would then come to me and be like oh hey Bianca like but right over there they’re saying like well she looked so cool because she starting to look like a man with like I mean if you guys have seen my pictures I don’t think I’ve ever looked like a man and if I did then I look like one hella good man we tell you after I went through about two years of competing after my last competition I had my breast augmentation and I could not train for a few weeks and that was when I hit a really hard depression because I realized I did not have that outlet that bodybuilding training became an outlet for me and I no longer had that because I was resting from surgery and I went through this hole I was at a time of really just self-reflection and I thought about why am I doing this like am i what what are the reasons I’m competing and I realized that what started out as me being in the gym for me became me you know trying to compete so that I can look a certain way to fit an image and I was like I don’t need to fit this image anymore I’m never going to be that the perfect bikini girl because the perfect bikini body doesn’t exist and I decided and I have so many people reaching out to me for help that I decided that I want to focus my energy on helping them Andrey put my energy back into just like loving my body and loving myself the way that the whole reason that I set foot in the gym in the first place was to feel good about myself and to do something that was fun and I brought myself back there and that’s kind of how I got to where I am now and I’ve explored all these other forms of fitness from martial arts to new styles and I got back into dance I’ve been dancing again and it feels amazing and I use that as a form of my fitness and I can honestly say that like to get to you know a point you have to be consistent I flipped that switch on like I was like I’m gonna be consistent about this and yeah like I have days where maybe something comes up and I’ll make it to the gym but I’m going to go to the gym the next day like that’s that’s really what consistency is so my best advice to you what I hope you get from the story is that we all go through ups and downs you might lose friends along the way but you just you have to do it for yourself and you have to love yourself every step of the way like I love myself to my fluffiest and my skinniest I depressed times I had to pick myself up and love myself and and you have to do that like you have to do it for you you cannot do it for somebody else you cannot do it to fit an image don’t do it because you want to look like the girl in the magazine don’t do it because you want to win a trophy do it because you want to be healthy and happy and you love your body and you want to take care of it so that is my best that is my story as much as I could possibly sum it up I hope that it was a little helpful for you I kind of didn’t mention is that the past three years Mike fitness journey I’ve been completely vegan and that has not affected any sort of growth or weight loss or anything like that if anything it’s made me feel better because it gave me more of a passion to do this because now it’s like I’m showing people what you can’t accomplish on it with on a vegan diet so it just kind of inspired me even more but you can absolutely do whatever you set your mind to and I hope that you like my story and I hope that if you have if you have this desire inside of you to become to get a fit healthy body and to be the best version of you I hope that you go out there and do it because you are 100% capable of doing it you just got to turn that switch on turn the switch on get your ass to the gym or maybe it’s not the gym maybe you want to go running when you want to go to yoga class whatever it is and maybe you need somebody to help maybe you need a mentor or a coach like I did my friend Jason was the very first person to mentor me and maybe that’s what you need and there’s a million people out there with great knowledge in their brain so it’s just reach out to somebody or read some books or you Google like you can learn so much with the internet so that’s all I have for you today and if you need any training programs to follow for the gym or even at home check out my website the link will be in the bio you can check out my vegan supply design guide if you need help as far as macro counting on a vegan diet or anything like that and you can email me for online coaching because I am accepting clients as always yes that’s it okay sending you all loving light as always ha peace

show you what’s possible with intermittent fasting and that we do not have to eat animal products in order to thrive only a handful of people on this planet have the determination to live this way but it’s amazing what happens when we do mankind is not supposed to have the health problems it does and what we call aging is not normal let the wise words of this master teach and lighten and inspire you hi thanks for being here today it is my pleasure so you only eat once a day that is so I saw the video you’re on the air every you were a dead lifting champion that is so I’m presently the world deadlift champion drug-free world deadlift champion in my particular class I hold on several world national regional Records cyclic fasting for instance is known to potently promote growth hormone release so throughout the duration of a daily fast your growth hormone concentration tends to increase if you combine that with resistance exercise in the evening as you probably know that increases testosterone production when you sleep that increases growth hormone production IGF production so we’re talking about anabolic hormones that essentially promote the preservation of muscle tissue so a regimen which entails daily cyclic fasting evening resistance training all of these things combined to enhance the preservation and also augmentation of muscle tissue so you’re saying somebody’s and 30s 40s and 50s to actually gain muscle if it is regimented if it combines these factors that is increased growth hormone secretion as a consequence of protracted fasting now you notice that working out late in the day is more beneficial than working out earlier in the day what does it matter it does matter and and that is because essentially you want to enhance autophagy throughout the day you want to be catabolism your proteins you want to be catabolism stored sugar and stored body fat but in the evening you actually want to suppress autophagy in order to promote that preservation of muscle tissue so it is resistance training that stimulates your skeletal muscle that provides those metabolic factors that promote muscle retention so yes evening it’s best to do resistance exercise this is actually a good advice for even women they’re older postmenopausal women that who is working out your muscles is part of what keeps you young and do indeed you got to do weight training even if you’re an old lady you got to work here otherwise your bones go week everything starts falling apart it’s important what you’re saying is it helps keep you young this isn’t a vanity thing it’s part what needs to happen in your life indeed indeed and sarcopenia that is age-related muscle wasting muscle loss is a major of catalyst for premature mortality especially in women right they say that the older you get the more you lose muscle the more you lose your hormones the more you start slowly basically falling apart what you’re saying is you keep working out that doesn’t necessarily happen your case yes yes that is quite so you can definitely avert many of those changes and slow down that process so you found that you only have to sleep as much as the average person yes that was one of the first things that I observed I was able to do without as much sleep as I had previously and I was able to recuperate from exertion far more rapidly that I had been in the past I was simply interested intellectually in the pursuit of anti-aging studies anti senescence studies and as I began to discuss this with my then-girlfriend approximately 20 years ago she said this is interesting caloric restriction cyclic fasting specific nutriceuticals a refined diet all of these things clearly demonstrably scientifically contribute to lifespan extension and I explained how I was going to commence collecting data writing a book and she said she’s not my wife by the way new net Munro why don’t we do it and it took some time to reflect on that and I said well why not and that was about a decade and a half ago and through a few evolutions if you will we’ve been on the almond regimen for approximately 15 years without fail it entails a daily fast of 23 hours in duration caloric restriction that is we consume approximately 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day it entails specific nutraceuticals that is nutraceuticals that have been found to increase maximum lifespan in one or more organisms it entails daily exercise it entails meditation ascesis and basically that is the almond regimen qualitatively the diet is devoid of meat and centers on specific staples if you will basically nuts grains tubers dried fruit we always eat in the evening we consume our evening meal our main meal after our evening resistance regimen our exercise is typically organized in such a way that in the morning we engage in so-called persistence exercise what you might call aerobics in the afternoon that’s typically another aerobic session time permitting and in the evening is the resistance exercise session and this can entail a number of different standard conventional weight lifting exercise with integrated weighted yoga postures in between sets and after this evening resistance session is meditation or final meditation session because meditation is interspersed throughout the day we meditate in two different postures and one of those postures I can demonstrate to you briefly this posture is called a rule AHA that is standing home and this is the posture that I typically assume in my brief of periods of meditation say 10 to 15 minutes Aroo AHA is a composite Egyptian term and it means again standing form the ultimate intent of all minimalist meditation is to progressively produce a state of sustained tranquility where ideas images emotions are expedited from the mind there are essentially 10 domains of interventional studies what I call the two tractus of anti-aging interventions several of fundamental they include caloric restriction cyclic fasting and specific nutraceuticals and a range of discrete genetic modifications that alter specific physiological phenomena in organisms almost all of them will entail either an increase in the optimization of autophagy and that is simply a process that enables the body to renew its tissues glycation is an important phenomenon glycation is that process whereby circulating sugars bind to protein lipids in the body and render them resistant to renewal that accelerates aging you also have fat accumulation or adiposity that has been found to increase the rate of Aging and limit lifespan but more specifically it’s been found that the extra patient of adipose the diminution of adiposity increases maximum lifespan in mammals and other organisms people you say there’s no way you can have that kind of muscle and not eat for 23 hours a day maybe it’s I know the body’s more efficient but people are going to say well doesn’t your bodies are eating up the muscle after a while actually limited muscle catabolism is a good thing limited tissue catabolism is a good thing and it might be illuminating to conceive of it in this way the vast majority of the solid component of your body consists of proteins and each of those proteins that constitute our proteome so to speak have a definite life span and the integrity in health of your body is largely dictated by the integrity of your individual proteins so if you are able to prevent damage to the corpus of proteins that constitute your body or increase the rapidity with which you renew and recycle proteins you are functionally physiologically younger there are a lot of people I’d say because it used to be protein protein protein what are you getting your protein Gatti animals nowadays the big thing is where you get your sugars like the body needs to have sugar to run on sugars the body’s fuel if you don’t put sugar in your body carbs all day long it’s gonna you’re gonna basically waste away wait what do you think of that well there’s a fascinating body of research which indicates that the process of glycation is integral to aging and glycation is that process whereby simple sugars illicitly bind to the body’s proteins and render them resistant to that process of renewal and this has been found to greatly accelerate aging that’s one aspect of it the other aspect is that when scientists have subjected animals to a low glycotoxins ayat’ that is a diet that is low in so-called advanced glycation in products this independently increases lifespan so you have a concomitant effect if you reduce the endogenous generation of glycation products and of course the best way to do that is simply to reduce your circulating sugar concentration to the lowest extent practicable and you avoid or reduce your assimilation of exogenous advanced glycation in products which are created upon cooking and our extent in various foods whether cooked or not you can increase lifespan through this Avenue of glycation restriction and this is one of those interventions that are included in the so called detractors of anti-aging interventions that is glycation diminution and this points to the fundamental importance of cyclic fasting as an avenue of lifespan prolongation because it is cyclic fasting that most potently suppresses the concentration of circulating sugar the lower the concentration of circulating sugar in your body the less sugar you have to attack your body’s tissues and to render them dysfunctional if you will where you say you get your energy family if your glucose levels and alone oh that’s an interesting question most individuals have an appreciable amount of energy stored in adipose and this points to another element of the detractors of anti-aging interventions and it’s that if animals are rendered lean through either surgical expectation of adipose tissue targeted genetic interventions which decrease adiposity that increases lifespan independently so in a convoluted way what I’m saying is that when you don’t consume exogenous sugar you make use of that stored adipose and that extra patient of adipose independently promotes longevity obviously you can get energy out of fat but you don’t have a lot of fat on you so where do you get your energy from I like your question because that points to the third Avenue which is autophagy when you deplete your glycogen largely from your liver and your skeletal muscle and again the morning aerobic exercise stimulates that and you have a low content of adipose tissue your body makes use of stored proteins it Khattab eliza’s all of your body’s proteinaceous tissues and recycles them as substrates for energy and that autophagy conduction of energy metabolism if you will contributes to lifespan prolongation by renewing proteins more rapidly under sustained caloric restriction or cyclic fasting skeletal muscle is preferentially preserved and there are more labile proteins that are catabolized before protein and before brain tissue so these are selectively preserved so ok let’s talk about your your diet so here you eat a lot of nuts and visit roots start just things like that yes grains grains really all this within an hour yes or less skills we have our tripartite meal if you will and by tripartite I mean that the first thing we consume when we break are 23 plus hour fast is what I call the almond amino elixir consisting of three protein sources soy spirulina brewers yeast and ideally a dozen isolated amino acids and the next thing we consume is the main meal one of those staples of which I mentioned earlier these typically include beans and rice um typically we have one of three beings cannellini beans is my favorite the red kidney beans and when I say bean this is the common bean phaseolus vulgaris and then many different cultivars but one of the main reasons that we select the bean as an optimal staple if you will is because there are many properties associated with the common being that accord with lifespan extension and these include inhibiting the enzyme alpha-glucosidase which promotes optimal glycemia if you will these are called a fiber which really helps that sugar levels and you don’t get rid of toxins it’s great tindy probably not the best cook foods you have if you don’t go with cookies is great okay go I’m sorry wrong no no yes roots tubers rice grain and nuts and seeds fruit and fresh vegetation is not high on our list of staples and that’s simply because the cellulose and the water content take up space if you will so if you have a regimen where you’re constricting restricting your feeding to an hour or less and you consume foods that occupy a large volume have a higher water content indigestible fiber over time that can reduce your sense of satiation so you want to have nutritionally dense foods in order to essentially derive the most nutrients in a minimal amount of time right you wanna drink a Surrey and then there is the minor meal and the minor meal is nothing more than a dessert typically nuts dried fruit often what you might call peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or peanut butter and Nestle bot sandwiches which roughly means royal jelly that’s one of the staples of our minor meal and I say peanut butter and jelly with some reluctance because it differs a bit from what you might find in a typical grocery store it simply crudely crushed peanuts and fruit preserves on bread that’s a typical dessert a typical dessert may also be roasted peanuts with dark chocolate I’m glad you said peanut bars I love Hannah butter and everybody says peanuts our dad’s got the toxins in it after Lou Thompson toxin air that is why roasted peanuts are actually preferential in our ethos if you will um because if you consume raw peanuts or germinated or so peanuts it promotes that growth of fungal organisms and aflatoxins but um just to give an indication of the scientific basis there is an entire tract taped with several sections that discuss multifarious epidemiological and interventional studies which find a relationship between longevity and nut consumption and peanuts are particularly prominent in those studies that is it’s been found that consumption of peanuts of quartz with lifespan the particular variety is simply crushed um crunchy peanuts with little added salt no other ingredients pie is almost all he averaged over there palm oil sugar the sugar and all that that’s why I’m sometimes reluctant to call it peanut butter because of the confusion that is essentially the almond meal the tripartite almond meal throughout the 23 hour fast we typically consume teas in herbal infusions of various sorts these include green tea black tea oolong tea but also two of the South African teas honey bush and red tea or rooibos hibiscus one of my favorites rhubarb tea and any number of herbal infusions most of which have been found to influence one of these several physiological factors that we know are operative in the aging process and those again include autophagy optimization glycation inhibition fat oxidation diminution of inflammation etc so when you say nutriceuticals that sounds like something from the pharmaceutical industry you’re talking about herbs and natural things that’s quite correct there several of these one is niacin bound chromium another is glucosamine another is curcumin or turmeric another is resveratrol and combined with cyclic or intimate and fasting the polyphenols that you find in green tea in blueberries and in pomegranates so when we speak of nutraceuticals we’re talking about these agents and physiologically all of these nutriceuticals have been found to modulate one of several molecular mechanisms and again we have our familiar glycation autophagy induction immune enhancement and lipid oxidation or minimization and you take these throughout the day as stand with your teas and wired stuff yes yes the tea’s that we consume when they are sweetened they’re sweetened with non calorific sweeteners such as stevia which is essentially the sole sweetener that I use during my fasting period so your stomach yeah sorry not at all it’s a good sign no this is actually a good comparison here you haven’t eaten in a while your stomachs growling he hasn’t eaten since yesterday and he’s still fine my accessory yeah well that sucks boy excellent and actually that effect is partly attributable to a peptide called ghrelin and it is released by the gastrointestinal tract in response to food deprivation it actually increases the expression of a peptide called BDNF brain-derived nerve growth factor which increases the proliferation of neurons in the brain specifically in the hippocampus an area that’s associated with learning and memory and that is probably among the reasons that fasting and caloric restriction increase mental or cognitive acuity so this might explain people in India there mainly are vegetarians and they don’t eat a lot but yet they have some of the smartest people in the world I can like literally like calculate to the 100th decimal point and these people that then say you need me you need animal products you need fat you need sugary all that stuff tin to function properly you got it dialed in to the point where you’re you’re proving you need any help products I’m somewhat conventional and that I promote the ingestion the use of essential multi-mineral multivitamin supplementation and whenever someone subsists on a calorically restricted diet either quantitatively restricted or temporally restricted it’s important to ensure that you get the minimal requisite amount of essential nutrients right and that’s what I get from a standard vegetal micronutrient micro minimal mineral supplement I take that in powdered form in the almond amino elixir and it’s the first thing that we consume on an empty stomach and that’s designed essentially to be sufficient as a source of energy and nutrients without the need for any food at all so the elixir is intended to deliver all essential nutrients in a form that is easy to assimilate and the meals are simply for satiety and indulgence because I think that’s an important point to stress if you’re going to have a lifelong regimen that is predicated upon lifespan prolongation it has to be sufficiently palatable in order to be sustained over a lifetime and indulgence gratification is an important element of enjoying life and we do find that our diet is very palatable very enjoyable even with the perceived monotony we loved in it feeding time is always festive it’s always a feast if you will what the research indicates is that both cyclic fasting and caloric restriction greatly increased energetic efficiency such that organisms can make do with less all of their physical cool systems become more efficient and they’re able to effectuate their physiological operations with far less energy and that reduced energetic demand actually results in a lessened generation of those deleterious byproducts of metabolism free radicals for instance advanced glycation in products so with a reduction in metabolism you get a concomitant reduction in waste products and other deleterious agents that damage the body so the less waste products that your body has to deal with the more clean areas more efficient it is indeed being clean is almost more important than massive amounts of fuel just being guzzle down indeed another effect that has been observed widely on caloric restriction cyclic fasting and other interventions that increase lifespan is a decrease detoxification capacity and more specifically an Augmented expression of so-called Phase two enzymes or xenobiotic enzymes and these are enzymes that are specifically expressed in the liver also kidney and other tissues that essentially convert toxins in such a way that enables them to be expiated from the body more efficiently so this is thought to be a major factor in the lengthening of life’s been associated with fasting and caloric restriction so the L of the organs that help eliminate toxins from the body the liver the kidneys if they’re cleaner they can focus more on producing enzymes and keeping you running optimally rather than just cleaning the house and getting rid of unwanted garbage indeed and also as we discussed together we are exposed to multi Farias toxins that we can do little as individual to avoid in our modern environment so to the extent to which we can augment our detoxification capacity we can protect ourselves from some of these toxins that would otherwise be ubiquitous that are ubiquitous and we simply can’t avoid right the toxins in the air the water even the negative people it just drains us our life works and dude so the cleaner we are mentally physically and emotionally the better we can thrive as long living healthy beings indeed but I must interject an element of my philosophy and that is I wholly accept the inevitability of Aging I wholly accept the inevitability of death and my regimen is simply predicated upon postponing that process to the greatest extent prime having a high quality of life indeed which is much below the last 40 years they’re just falling apart yeah explaining about the other people yeah and it’s important to have sufficient energy mentally and physically in order to arrive at the psychological philosophical existential state that you wish to attain before that ultimate end you have a website you want it I mean these I want to know more advice blog where do I go you can go to our website almond car elite athlete calm and it has a description of my overall regimen on the literature that I’ve produced and how to acquire it I don’t sell my materials I release them with a donation to individuals who are earnestly interested and I stress that because our order our regimen is ascetic and it’s clearly not for everyone so I’m interested in individuals who serious right there’s a lot of people can say this can be something that takes I get bigger muscles are live longer or not get sick right there is no quick answer you have to this has to be a lifestyle a way of living a being and all-encompassing lifelong protocols right right so folks this bought of this this is not for most of you who want a quick fix for something this is a dedication to a life of way of living Wilson yeah well thank you for your time and you’re quite an inspiration and hopefully we’ll check in again in a while and any last words of advice for people living the modern world we’re kind of like ready to throw their arms in the air and say I how I I give up I don’t know what to do subjecting yourself to self-imposed discipline is the surest way to increase the quality of your existence period great thank you you’re quite well wow what a video huh I’m gonna summarize the important parts for you guys you weren’t paying attention because there’s some really important points to be made here first of all we’re not telling you guys to only eat one meal a day this is an extreme diet it’s only for a few people in the world who willing to dedicate their lives to this but what we are trying to do is show you a that you will not waste away if you fast daily that you know 60 eats one meal a day I’m telling people to only fast for 16 hours a day and eat for 8 hours so there’s really an you don’t have the animal products in order to have muscles notice he also said sugar ages did he catch that part he does aerobics several times a day and he does weight-bearing exercises at night aerobics cardio and weight exercises are not the same thing okay you got to move your body notice he did a lot of standing during the day standing versus sitting so we intermittent fasting standing him versus sitting and he when he eats his meal the reason he has heavy things like beans and rice and peanut butter things like that is because he needs to feel full he wants to enjoy his meal he said that he gets his nutrition before he has his meal from a plant-based supplement kind of like my green formula we have all your minerals and vitamins and phytonutrients and he has some amino acids just like my protein formula and then he has his meal to feel full and then he has his dessert to feel good so he gets the pleasure out of meetings not denying himself anything so it is he very similar to could tell more Berg in Norway that got the wheelchair guy who healed himself and walked 600 kilometers across Norway eating nothing but my green formula and protein formula and having some cashews and coconut oil to feel full very similar to what mom and rod is doing he has his nutritional supplement and then he has his heavier nuts and things which you can also get some protein and substance from so this is really inspiring notice he also said no stress really important because you will age and die if you have stress in your life so do what you can get the important bits of information from this because this is gold this guy’s taking it to the extreme and to show you what’s possible you will not waste away if you fast every day ok this guy’s only needing one meal a day we’re not even telling you to do that you can eat you can have a bunch of meals during the day but fast eat good things stay close to nature I hope this inspired you guys stay tuned for more at Marcos INSCOM to learn more study or contact dr. Nuno Monroe his website is almond TA elite athlete calm that’s am en tal ite athlete calm this is Marcus with Marcos news calm we hope this inspired you

What A Vegan Boxer Eats In A Day (David Haye)

Oh crazy the incredibly successful boxer David Haye who was forced into retirement by injuries is making a comeback to the ring and he’s chosen a strict vegan diet to keep his health and athletic performance in peak condition he was plagued by a crippling shoulder injury that some believe can be correlated in part to his previous meat heavy diet and doctors said he would never be able to fight again consuming 24 raw egg whites and four tins of sardines a day their turning point came at the beginning of 2014 when he watched a TV documentary about how animals are farmed killed and prepared for us to eat and he explained I saw all those cows and pigs and realized I couldn’t be a part of it anymore it was horrible I did some research to make sure I could still obtain enough protein to fight and once satisfied that I could I stopped and I’ll never go back some argued that his strict vegan diet would be his downfall as a heavyweight boxer but after a hundred and thirty one second knockout of Mark de Maury hey is looking in the best shape of his life alongside his vegan diet he includes foods known as cert rich foods which are said to activate proteins in the body called sirtuins which regulate biological processes such as aging cellular death inflammation and metabolism and protect cells from dying when they are under stress some of these cert foods include blue briefs parsley turmeric walnuts arugula celery chili kale apples and red onions amongst others the properties in these foods seem to enhance muscle function and improved muscle adaptation so by incorporating these David Haye saw a greater response from his training and a better recovery which allowed him to gain muscle mass David consumes five meals a day and here is what he eats in a typical day first thing upon rising he consumes one green juice which includes kale arugula and parsley for meal one he has pea protein and buckwheat flour pancakes with sliced strawberries walnuts and coconut yogurt then for his first training session he has another green juice meal two is herb marinated tofu with carrot spaghetti red onion arugula and peas meal 3 is a smoothie made of oats vegan protein coconut frozen mixed berries medjool dates mix seeds chaga mushroom spirulina and oat milk meal 4 is white bean quinoa salad with fennel chicory celery red onion dried chili parsley olives and Hermus and finally meal 5 lentil and kale dal served with turmeric buckwheat interestingly studies have shown that vegetarians have a quicker recovery time for breeding rates and muscular performance the non vegetarians named Peters sexiest vegan celebrities of 2014 here in the UK David Haye believes with the help of his vegan diet he can once again become the heavyweight champion thank you so much for watching this video if you liked it please give it a thumbs up I’d love if you could leave a comment below and subscribe for more upcoming videos if you want to see what I’m eating follow me on instagram at 80/10/10 in London you

Top 13 Vegan Athletes | Venus Williams/Patrik Baboumian/Nick Diaz

Hey everyone Josh Baldwin hila G can fit I’m excited to share with you guys my list for the top 13 vegan athletes now obviously there are a ton of really talented plant-based athletes out there but I put this list together to show vegan athletes who are at the top of their sport so not only are all these vegan athletes competing in these grueling sports but they’re actually thriving and many of them are at the absolute top of the sport let’s get right to the list with two of the most impressive athletes and ones that you guys will all know and Serena and Venus Williams they went vegan in 2011 and of course they were successful before this but they’ve been able to stay at the top of the sport at ages 36 and 37 in fact they were the top two players in this year’s Australian Open beating out their much younger and non vegan competitors Venus whose battle with an autoimmune disorder led her to veganism said it definitely changed my whole life it changed the pace I live at you changed everything next up we got the beast Patrick Bablu Mian now a lot of you guys may have seen him on strength Wars and all over YouTube he’s got a great channel as well this German strongman set the world beer keg lifting record and the 20 kilogram front hold record but most impressively he holds the world record for the most weight ever carried by human at twelve hundred and thirty-four pounds which he said at age 37 Patrick said about going vegan I got heavier I got stronger I won the European Championship title and powerlifting I broke three world records so everything was going perfect my blood pressure went down and my recovery time was so much faster so I could train more next up we’ve got jermain defoe who’s one of the top Premier League forward at age 34 he was looking for a way to prolong his career and he hasn’t missed a beat he’s credited his recent switch to a vegan diet as being partly behind his continued excellence at the top level at age 36 Nate and Nick Diaz are a pair of talented MMA fighters both fighters follow a mostly raw vegan diet neither fighter was really ever at the top of the sport but to my surprise as an MMA and Nick was able to beat Conor McGregor just last year at age 32 Scott Jurek is one of the most dominant ultra marathon runners in the world he held the u.s. record for distance run in 24 hours which was 165 miles from 2010 to 2012 he’s been a vegan since 1997 and he’s considered by many to be the greatest ultra runner of all time Scott noted that since going vegan in regards to competing and training I noticed my recovery time that’s shortened that I was less injury prone and had a higher level of energy now everyone knows Carl Lewis is one of the greatest Olympians of all time but what a lot of people don’t know is that in his prime and of course now he was a vegan with nine Olympic gold medals he also set a world record for indoor long jump set in 1984 that still stands Carl adopted a vegan diet to his system in sports and continued it into his retirement in regards to veganism Carl stated I found that a person does not need protein for me to be a successful athlete in fact my best year of track competition was the first year I ate a vegan diet moreover by continuing to eat a vegan diet my weight is under control I like the way I look next up is David Meyer who was a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor his competition achievements include two World Championship gold medals for American national goals an American Open gold and two Pan American goals among many others all of these were achieved as a vegan and David has been a vegan since 2000 he once said I have experienced that it’s an extremely healthy way to eat it gives me more energy it’s better for the environment I’m morally committed to not harming animals then we have the freerunning ninja Timothy sheep he’s won dozens of freerunning competitions it holds a record on Ninja Warrior Stage one by finishing in just 62 seconds that’s ten seconds faster than the previous record Tim said to think that 5% more strength is worth the death and enslavement of hundreds is ego at his finest work but actually feels stronger and more efficient anyway Tia Blanco is an American pro surfer a dedicated vegan and yogi she won gold during the women’s final of the 2015 is a World Surfing Games in regards to her diet Tia said I feel really great eating a plant-based diet and love the way it makes me feel physically and mentally many of us know the effects of diet on one’s health but fail to realize that diet plays a huge role in more than just your personal well-being I love animals too much to contribute to suffering next up is Lewis Hamilton who’s a four-time Formula One world champion Hamilton just recently won his fourth title after adopting a vegan diet earlier in the year Hamilton said as the human race what we are doing to the world the pollution coming from the amount of cows that are being produced is incredible the cruelty is horrible and I don’t want to support that Marie Rose was an Australian swimmer who won four gold medals in the 1956 and 1960 Olympics Maria was a lifelong vegan who set 15 World Records in his sport and he attributed much of his success to his vegan diet which was an extremely unusual choice for the time he was really the first great athlete to prove that a plant-based diet won’t stop you from becoming a top level athlete and in fact will most likely make you even better David Haye is a British boxer with world titles in two weight categories they researched the benefits of a plant-based diet on healing race and recovery time after a serious shoulder injury prompted surgery and many he had to take a break from the ring hey says apes are 20 times stronger than humans and they don’t rely on a meat-based diet they eat plants all day long it’s a myth that you need to eat meat for strength I think says David Haye that I’m now fitter than I’ve ever been I punch harder than ever I’m more determined and I’m faster last but definitely not least is Kendrick Farris who’s an American Olympic weightlifter and the only American to compete in weightlifting at the 2016 Olympics Ferris went vegan in 2014 and says that we shouldn’t get so caught up with protein protein protein because you can get an excess of protein and most of it just gets passed or your body now my body recovers a lot faster I feel lighter my mind is a lot more clear I feel I can focus a lot better that focus helped him set a u.s. record of a combined 377 kilograms at the Olympic Trials in May with a 209 kilogram clean-and-jerk and 168 kilogram snatch so I hope this list really shows everyone out there that you can absolutely be at the top of your sport on a plant-based diet not only will you most likely be fast and stronger and better at your sport but you can live with a clean conscience knowing you’re not contributing to the suffering of animals you’re helping the environment and then as a bonus there you’re gonna actually be better at your sport a little longer and happier life and overall you’re just gonna feel so much better for all of my already converted vegans out there my goal of this video is to give you guys a really solid argument for veganism so when you’re out there talking to people and they say well you couldn’t possibly be strong or fast or whatever it may be on a vegan diet you can have these people as examples because a lot of people really don’t know this stuff most people out there I find know a few of these small things maybe they know about the Williams sisters or a few of these athletes but they don’t know that there’s strongmen they don’t know that there’s weight lifters they don’t know a lot of these athletes out there that are completely defying all these stereotypes about vegans so if you guys liked this video please hit the like button share the video subscribe to the channel and I’ll see you at the next one [Music]
