Hotel/Traveling Raw Vegan Fruitarian – Fast Food with The Raw Outlaw (San Diego Fruit Fest 2019)

I now offer 1-on-1 personalized coaching for raw, vegan, and fruit-based lifestyles: http://www.texasfruitarian.com/coach

My name is Rebecca, and I have been vegan for the animals since 2009, but still continued to get very sick. I began my raw vegan fruitarian journey on October 12, 2014 to battle “incurable” debilitating Multiple Sclerosis, in addition to Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, Hypoglycemia (pre-diabetes), High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Alcoholism, Benzo Withdrawal/Damage (as prescribed), Caffeine Addiction, Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Depression, Acid Reflux, Obesity, Pansinusitis, Sleep Apnea, and Narcolepsy. I initially lost 80 pounds, quit all medications, regained function of my body and mind, and found new purpose in sharing this healing message with anyone it may help.

HOW TO BE RAW VEGAN ON A BUDGET – 20 TIPS

Oh my gosh I have passed figs Wow being robbed vegan on a budget is definitely doable I have now been raw almost ten years and honestly I don’t make that much money so I’m gonna share some of my tips with you today and of course not everything is gonna be applicable to everybody but I’m sure if you stay through the video that you can find at least one takeaway tip for yourself look at your budget I know it sounds like cliche almost annoying advice to hear in the past I’ve looked into raw retreats and they’re like thousands of dollars and the response that I get from the people who are putting it on is like well what’s the cost of your health really cat and it’s almost a trick question because of course your health is priceless but we also have to be smart about our money and if getting in debt it’s gonna stress you in the long run like mental health is something you have to care about as well so of course I believe your health is priceless but I’m also not here to tell you to buy that $12 pint of blueberries because they’re healthy for you if you’re asking how much it costs to be raw you know very likely it will cost more than a processed diet so it might be worthwhile to reevaluate your expenses and see if there’s any reworking you can do when it comes to your spending really look at where your money is going and decide if it’s important to you make your staple foods cheap ones bananas are a great example buy in bulk in order to get case discounts and this is gonna work for fresh fruit it works for coconut water or juices anything that you want to buy in bulk you should be able to get the wholesale price for something like a 10 to 15% case discount at any grocery store don’t be shy to talk to the staff at grocery stores and farmers markets as well research your nearest wholesaler some of them even do delivery get creative I found a really good grocery store one time because I was talking to a restaurant owner about where he got his produce shop locally and in season because of its natural abundance in season fruit is likely going to be less expensive than something that’s been shipped in is it being shipped in right now [Music] and of course this also helps support your local farmers find aesthetically challenged fruit or veggies at your grocery store or farmers market sometimes they have a rack where it’s already marked down to scale fruit sometimes you can even just talk to them one-on-one and say hey this is kind of funky it’s probably headed for the trash but I’ll take it off your hands for you you just want to mark it down for me I did go over this in my other video and I’ll link that below don’t waste your coin there are quite a few on this topic so I’ll start with one which would be low calorie fruit something like out of season fresh raspberries for example those are gonna be so expensive I would consider them definitely as a luxury item and maybe use some more as like enhancements to your meals if you really want to go for that flavor so adding a few into your smoothie just to get that raspberry flavor or adding them as little toppings to your desserts instead of trying to make like a whole monomial out of them I’d say to think before you buy superfoods these can be quite pricy and not always worth it don’t waste your point on smoothies from restaurants I think once in a while it’s great to treat yourself but most of the time you’ll be able to make that same meal at home for a fraction of the price lastly don’t waste your money on the pre-cut prepackaged fruits and veggies in the like quick grab fridge sections of grocery stores I know it seems convenient but it’s just their way of squeezing dollars out of you while making use of their moldy fruit that’s what they do they’re cutting off the bad sections and it’s great I think as far as like sustainability and using all the parts of the fruit but they’re quite overpriced at the end of the day nobody’s getting a deal walking out a Whole Foods with like a little twelve dollar cup of watermelon and that touches on that low calorie point from the beginning is really understand how many calories you’re getting out of each dollar you’re spending watermelons on that note be prepared for outings if you know you’re someone who’s likely to get peckish so bring food with you or simply know where you can access cheap fruit while you’re out and if you’re asking what is cheap fruit like how if I’m getting a deal that’s a great question and I’m gonna encourage you to shop around there’s definitely a learning curve to this if you’re someone who’s new to buying fresh produce something I do and would definitely recommend with regard to shopping around is I keep a digital note on my phone and as I go to the different grocery stores and farmers markets in my neighborhood I have a list of my staple foods that I kind of always buy my favorite items and I will write the different costs for each store of course costs are gonna very subtly but I start to get an idea of trends of the cost of each fruit or vegetable how that changes throughout the year and how that differs from store to store in terms of like which ones are the more fancy grocery stores that are just charging work if they can and which ones are more like budget-friendly I’d also recommend exploring Asian markets if you have access my experience is that they have pretty good prices generally and a selection of exotic fruits that are hard to find anywhere else talk to other raw vegans and vegans especially the ones in your area you can do this in person or online like Instagram or 30 bananas a day pick their brain ask where they get their cheapest stuff the raw vegan and making community is amazing and I’ve had such a phenomenal time at every gathering that I’ve been to but I would never want anyone to get this idea that they have to blow the bank on an expensive raw vegan retreat just to maintain this lifestyle cuz that’s not the case of course you have the online community for support but there’s nothing better than in real life connection and there’s definitely budget-friendly ways to do that free options include pot Luck’s in your area or a lot of gatherings are free more like one-day events that are just hosted in a park or something as for longer-term events look into your volunteer options retreats need staff festivals needs that I’ve been to at least four festivals now and I have volunteer to every single one of them and of course it’s going to be a different experience because you’re working a lot of the time but it made it possible for me actually attend on the topic of travel think about how to factor your diet into your travel plans for example it’s gonna be tremendously cheaper to be a fruitarian in Thailand then it would be in Japan it’s gonna be cheaper to travel as a fruitarian in the tropics than it would be in Alaska in wintertime for example of course your diet is not here to rule your life but it’s something to take into consideration if it’s important to you and you’re on a budget as another option maybe consider combining whooping into your travel experience if that makes sense for you you know finding a farm you can stay on work on and eat from I do have a video on this topic and I’ll link that below as well there are a lot of guerilla farming that’s happening and just natural seed spreading that’s happening so there are wild plants that you can eat from foraging is gonna be location dependent and see them dependent but definitely consider it as an option the more and more that I learned about fruit and fruit trees the more as I’m driving around I can spy them in neighborhoods so get educated on what fruit trees look like you can also access different maps online I know when I was staying in California I just googled like fruit neighborhood map or something with these keywords and I was able to find so many fig trees in my area that were just public like on the side of the road that nobody else was accessing oh my gosh I have to pass to fig Wow so there are fruit maps available there’s also Craigslist some homeowners have fruit trees in their backyard that are really just a nuisance to them and they put ads like can somebody please come pick my oranges or have free oranges that may be also accessible on Facebook groups for your neighborhood you can also put an ad on Craigslist like will come pick your fruit if I can eat it I will soon be a full-on glowing orb as the Sun that’s right here Oh better so check out your map options Craigslist and heck I wouldn’t be surprised if there were even apps nowadays that facilitate foraging consider working or volunteering even a couple times a month at your local farmers market grocery store farm or co-op I say this because employees will often read the benefit of partial discounts or extra free food plus the networking opportunities of countless I know organic can be so expensive so maybe you can’t buy it right now and that’s okay and it doesn’t have to be all or nothing maybe you can just buy some and not others get educated if you’re sensitive on which produce is most susceptible to chemicals consider secondary options so of course fresh fruits and vegetables are gonna be ideal most of the time for a digestion and nutrition etc but there’s still some really great healthy secondary options that might be worth including cuz they’re a little easier on the budget most of the time in my mind this includes dried fruit and vege frozen fruit and vege fruit and veggie juice like bottled and maybe it’s even pasteurized and that’s okay with you you know we really have to find what works best for us and at the end of the day that’s gonna be healthy or no doubt and buying like soda bah minimize eating out I say this because restaurant meals will likely not fill up the stomach of a raw vegan if being honest and maybe there’s raw vegan gourmet on offer but I find that’s not worth it for me it ends up costing me my gut with too many refined and fatty ingredients I end up just healing you’ll grow your own simple things like herbs or scallion can be really expensive in the store and practically effortless to grow at home even something like kale does pretty well a lot of places because it’s so hard me so research in your area talk to your local farmers or research online you can figure it out shop online to find the best deals for particular items so your favorite superfoods powder is flavoring supplements even kitchen equipment using powders or supplements might be helpful for you from one person to the next we’re gonna have different deficiencies or lifestyle based need if you’re lacking in particular minerals for example it might require like a whole box of mixed greens to supplement you for that those boxes can be like six to nine dollars and if you have to have that every day that’s gonna add up as an alternative you could simply add a scoop of green powder to your movie so that way you get your nutrient requirements without breaking the bank learn how to prepare healthy satisfying raw vegan meals at home this was huge for me on my journey not only did it help save me money from going to restaurants but also helped me develop my relationship with my body and food and you too and that will find your personal way that become more efficient and cost effective with meal prep so to help you with this I have my four recipe books if you’re interested in low-fat raw vegan cuisine I like to focus on Whole Foods so there’s no processed ingredients like salt or oil nothing like now let’s show you or maple syrup or agave my priority still is on the texture and taste so you’ll be feeling really satisfied and if you want to go for all four books there’s a 15% off discount just so you know those are my 20 tips I hope you enjoyed watching this video and now it was helpful for you if you would like to support me and support the vegan message give it a blank i’m sending so much love your way and support on your raw vegan journey you can do it and thanks so much bearing with me as I shift it around to accommodate this son what do you think the world are all around you

3 Easy Ways to Ensure Your Long Term Success on a Raw Vegan Diet

Alright! This is John Kohler with okraw.com today with
another exciting episode for you and we have very special interview for you guys today
got my friend dr. Rick Dina who’s been on a raw vegan diet now
for 29 years. He actually started in 1987 and I myself have
been doing a raw vegan plant-based diet now since 1995 so I’m going into my 21st year
this year and we’re going to talk about a topic that’s important to the both of us,
is how do you maintain and stay raw for a long period of time? You know you might see other You Tubers on
YouTube that have been doing it 6 months a couple 2, 1 year 3 years and giving all these
tips but I really want to give you guys good solid information from people that have been
really been doing this a long time and have a lot more experience that you could really
learn from, grow from and benefit from. So we are going to ask Dr Rick and he will
share with you guys the top 3 ways how you can stay raw for the long term, so Dr Rick
what are these 3 ways that people need to know? Dr Rick: Well alright I’m borrowing some
information from a telesummit my wife Dr Karen Dina and I gave a little while ago on the
exact same topic how to stay raw over the long term? And we’ve got three basic reasons and you
could go into a lot more details with each of those reasons. Number 1 is motivation, people have to find
what motivates them and so the thing is, if you’re if you’re going along eating pizza
and cheeseburgers eating your donuts and everything’s good life’s great, why give up all the stuff
that you like? There’s no reason to so people find all sorts
of different incentives and reasons why they want to make some dietary changes in the first
place and those have to be compelling enough to get you to try something different and
learn some new things and give up some stuff that you used to like. So for a lot of people health is the main
reason so course weight loss is huge almost everybody out there in the world so many people
need to lose weight and literally it’s growing all the time in terms of the percentage of
our population that’s overweight so I mean a healthfully implemented raw food diet can
do that so well and I do say healthfully implemented cause there’s a lot of kind of raw food diets
out there that people gain weight on so fruit and vegetable based logical sensible good
education although that’s coming up in a minute. So people want to lose weight. People often time want to increase their athletic
performance I mean that’s huge God I’ve had so many people I’ve consulted with that
have said they have start eating more fruits and vegetables and their marathon times are
decreasing and they were recovering faster from the workouts and all sorts of stuff like
that. Sometimes people also noticed that their brain
capacity is improved it is dramatically better so for example my father-in-law is 90 years
old and my wife Dr Karen isn’t here right now because she is helping him out. She flew across the country and his brain
is functioning better now at 90 then it was previously at 85 and so she really helped
him make some major changes in his diet even though he’s not doing nearly as much as we’d
like him too he’s included more fruits and vegetables and it’s made a big difference
in how quick his mind is and how sharp he is and he’s still living on his own and it’s
his friends and neighbours are pretty convinced that if it weren’t for her help he wouldn’t
be on his own and he probably wouldn’t still be with us. So a lot of us have noticed that our brains
are the clearest when we are eating the healthiest. Lot of times people find for example you’ll
see a lot of yoga people who eat a raw food diet there’s a big connection there because
number 1 they’re interested in athletic performance and flexibility so they find that it’s easier
to get into complex poses and they can hold things longer and their strength improving
as well as there’s a spiritual connection with yoga so people find that when their body
is clear and clean they just feel more connected no matter what their take on things. or their spiritual religious views are they
just feel more calm and more connected to whatever they’re trying to connect with so
that’s a big part of it. Many people find incentive to improve their
health when they are faced with some type of major Health Challenge okay I’ve got high
blood pressure I’ve high cholesterol you know whatever other issues are going on and
people don’t always like the way they feel from the medications or they’re starting to
get angina pain and they know that that’s going to lead to heart disease for example
and they have grandkids that they want to see grow up and you know life’s good and
they don’t want to cut it short so disease reversal is a huge incentive maybe other than
weight loss may be one of the biggest reason cause it’s not so easy again to give up your
pizza and hotdogs and all that stuff you like. But when someone says when you get educated
and you realize wow is those things worth losing my life over wow you’ve got enough
incentive now to give those things up and it’s better to eat oatmeal and fruit smoothies
and stuff like that in the morning and enjoy yourself rather than have bacon and eggs and
not be around so that’s a big part of it. Then once people get healthy they want to
stay healthy so they to maintain their health they they want to keep eating healthy so that’s
another major incentive and then there’s a few of us out there that are wise enough that
we don’t want to wait till we have a health problem we’ve seen what’s happened to family
members we see what’s going on in society and we’re enjoying being vital and healthy
and youthful and we want to stay that way for a long time so there’s another good reason
so we’re still on the number 1 top reasons maintaining things long term is what motivates
people what gives them John: Why yeah what why? What motivated me I got into this because
of my health it was loss of my life and that that I didn’t need any other reason man I
mean I want to be here man. Dr Rick: That a good enough it’s only one
reason but boy that’s pretty big, stick around you know that’s huge and going back
to again with the spiritual connection and yoga that I was using in this example a lot
of people find that they feel better emotionally when they eat healthfully I mean people go
out and you know eat Diorites all day and all that kind of stuff and it’s hard not to
feel on edge and whatnot so emotional health can also be a big reason people find incentive
and then beyond personal health reasons there’s other reasons as well so a lot of people don’t
feel comfortable having to kill something so they can live so they just want to eat
plants instead of you know killing animals and I really can appreciate that and then
people also realize that okay if you eat some plants like this you can get the calories
directly from the plans but if you feed these plants to animals 96 or so percent whatever
it is of the calories from these plants go into the animal’s metabolism and then we don’t
actually get those calories back when we eat the animals so leaving a lighter footprint
on the earth it is a big reason also and the more reasons you have stacked up the more
likely you are to stick with it over the long term. if health is your only concern and you’re
feeling pretty healthy but someone says oh you need to eat fish for the DHA and EPA the
long-chain omega-3 fats highly and saturated fats are extremely important by the way. You might be like no problem bring on the
fish but if you’re concerned about the planet and we realize we’re overfishing and that’s
causing a lot of environmental destruction and that type of thing and you also actually
care about the fish themselves you’ll stay on a plant-based path, so you’ve got more
reasons than just your health. Sometimes people find that they they get healthy
they are feeling good but then some other things creep back into their diet, their joint
pain comes back or their blood pressure goes up again so the more reasons you have the
more likely you are to stick with it over the long-term all else being equal. John: So Dr Rick as much as I had you know
losing my life as my main motivation to start now that I’ve been doing this for over the
years I’ve seen and started piling on like you suggested other reasons that kind of give
leverage to me to stick with this diet since it is having like one brick you know as a
weight I have like 20 bricks as a foundation like I’m building a pyramid here man and
that pyramids is solid man it aint going anywheres and you know yea I mean I’ve experienced
doing it but experience like the different spiritual connection the connect with nature
wanting to conserve the planet the planet’s resources and being more concerned about that
and opening me up to like solar power and not consuming all these natural gas and gasoline
resources on the planet and does all these things are super important so as much as you
might have one that’s like the most important to you now put them in order make a list actually
of what the most important ones and as you go on in this journey you’ll learn other
things and why it’s so important to continue this and to keep it up. Dr Rick: Yea, that’s such a good point John
and I know for me I wanted to lose some weight and get in shape and my brain was kind of
cloudy and foggy and once I started doing that I started feeling so much better and
I started thinking about the animals. I use to think those animal rights people
bunch of whackos you know I don’t want to hear but you know I started to understand
them like that’s a really good point and then the planetary things and this spiritual
stuff I just yea it all starts to come together so it’s kind of nice you get into one arena
and once you’re or one avenue and then you get into the arena and you you realise all
the other reasons as well. John: Right
Dr Rick: So the more of those you can connect to the better. John: Absolutely, so yea that’s number 1
what’s the second way? Dr Rick: Number 2 and this is this is where
my wife and I what we do with our life’s work is so critical I think number 2 is education
it’s because people can have all the incentive in the world but then what happens is they
start on a plant-based diet they’re feeling good and sometimes they don’t do it right
they think that handfuls and nuts and seeds and all the gourmet food is going to be the
healthiest for them and maybe their health improved some but not nearly as much as they
were hoping. They don’t get the goals they were looking
for and they’re like why bother giving up all the other stuff I like if I’m still on
my blood pressure medication so you’ve got to take the right approach and there’s there’s
so many ways that people can get confused or lacking a nutrient sometimes they are not
eating enough fats and sometimes they are eating too much fats are afraid of fruit you
know all and then they’re eating more fat as a result and people are so confusing and
so number one they got to find what works for them. That’s absolutely critical but then there’s
a whole other growing reason, growing aspect of this where things are working well for
people but they’re not well educated enough to fend off if you will all the other stuff
bombarding at them, like where do you get enough protein and what about essential fats
you need to have fish right? and vitamin K2 oh you need your bone broth for that cause
if you’re not goanna get it your bone are goanna be weak and you’re goanna get hip
fractures you vegetarians better watch out, and and what else? Oh you got to cook your food for lycopene
and beta carotene you got to you know vegetarians are deficient in vitamin D and that’s true
but just as much as the rest of the population so I mean there is all these different thing
out there, oh iodine you have to do this and go on these crazy crazy mega dose protocol
and I mean there’s just and then people say you better eat fish so anyway there these
whole set of reasons why people not so informed who look at a raw vegan diet and think oh
my gosh that looks too challenging for me and then think Ok on the one hand if it’s
right and they don’t do it they feel like they are doing something wrong and that’s
tough it’s tough for everybody to look in the mirror and acknowledge their own issues
and shortcomings what’s much easier is let’s make it wrong let’s criticize it so B12d essential
fats protein you know all that other stuff K2 ah people it’s just easier to start complaining
about that and putting it out and then people want to get their own attention so they just
repeat the rhetoric and put that out and those of you in earnest who are trying to learn
about raw food nutrition you tune into to YouTube and you see some good stuff from some
of the good You Tubers and you see a lot of nonsense also and it throws you off the path
so proper education will number 1 get you on an approach that works the best for you
and number 2 will give you the confidence to stay there because you will not get thrown
off track by the people who are uneducated yet who have loud voices and a lot of outreach
so the education part is so important we teach a series of classes called the Science of
Raw Food Nutrition it’s a hundred hours’ worth of intensely pack information we could
turn it into 500 hours easily. People are just scribbling notes its super
dense. John: So Dr Rick besides like your hundred
hours of course that I know that people can go to attend actually for a lot of money and
there’s no substitute for going to a 100 hours of education that you packed in even more
information into I know you have you and your wife actually mostly your wife Dr Karen wrote
a book that I would actually encourage you guys to get that I have myself and it’s probably
the number one book I would recommend on a raw food that’s available at this time actually
I haven’t written my book yet but it’s solid so can you tell people more about that because
minimally if you don’t do anything else get their books so you can get a good solid foundation
of how to eat raw food that healthy. Dr Rick: Yea absolutely so first for our classes
you spend a few thousand dollars and you have a lifetime of education so many of our students
tell us our notes are references for them for years and years and years to come and
you think about that compared to being on medication for the rest of your life and dealing
with all the side effects so first of all I think it’s an incredible lifetime investment
and good value however that’s not the right approach for everyone and then so for 15 bucks
on Amazon you can buy Dr Karen book the Raw Food Nutrition handbook now I know there’s
lots of books on raw food and nutrition out there and a lot of times people hear a few
things they repeat rhetoric it’s in their book they put a fancy cover they get a marketing
team they sell a whole bunch of them. I can tell you our book though is based on
our 55 plus years of personal experience tones of education both formal and cool cutting-edge
stuff type of education and and our clinical experience and our research experience it’s
all condensed into a basic yet done very thoroughly to lay the foundation book called the Raw
Food and Nutrition Handbook so for 15 bucks you can get an enormous education about how
to keep on this path long term that way. John: Awesome yea also I’d recommend checking
out Dr Rick and Karen’s YouTube channel I’ll put links down below this video for
that or those links for their videos down below this video also for that also be sure
to subscribe to this channel if you’re not ready. I give some pretty good solid information
most of which Dr Rick would probably agree with maybe not everything. But we agree with like most stuff man. Dr Rick: Just to give you a plug John and
I have been friends since what 1998 or something like that and over the years we were just
on the same page with so many things I’m glad that you are utilizing YouTube to get good
information out there and I would so much love to say everybody on YouTube is giving
good information but I just can’t it’s just not fair from someone who’s been around the
block a few times and ah so keep checking out the videos that’s that’s good stuff. John: Thanks Dr Rick so moving on to number
3 now on how to stay raw long term, what’s that? Dr Rick: So number 1 we got motivation talked
all about health reasons, environment, animals etcetera. Number 2 education you got to know what you’re
doing. You can’t be successful at anything if you
don’t know what you’re doing and number 3 interesting enough is flexibility, because
sometime people hear, they’ll watch YouTube, go to a lecture, read some books and it’s
like the way to do it John: Dogma Dr Rick: This is the way this is it everyone’s
human have to eat the same way and you’ll always find a segment of the population that
that works great for and then you’ll find another segment of the population that that
didn’t work so well for. So if people are convinced there’s only one
way to do it, they do that way and they’re not feeling good and it’s not working for
them well, first of all they might start blaming themselves if they are thoroughly convinced
that’s way to do it oh I must be doing this wrong, there must be something wrong with
me, there must be something I’m missing. And that’s not about health that’s self-defeating
that’s beating yourself up, why should you have a dogmatic system that makes you beat
yourself up? Again that’s not about health or sometimes
they’ll go somewhere else oh my God someone else has the way to do it and it’s a different
way they say opposite thing so they switch over there and then maybe there’s some benefits
to that but then there’s some drawback to that and that, that might not work either
what we have found over the years like myself, my wife, John so many other people we know
who our long-term successful healthy raw food vegans is they are flexible and open-minded
enough and oftentimes even ten twenty thirty years in they’re still learning new things
that are helping them and by trying this trying that understanding this understanding that
making sense out of different things and then doing some personal experimentation sometimes
we can help guide people with lab work with that what works for them and what doesn’t
they find the approach that works for them and they also enjoy doing it they like eating
the food it’s fun and you feel good and you get all the benefits so that flexibility is
just absolutely so key. It doesn’t mean be so flexible that you’re
off the path but it means learn the fundamentals and then find what works for you and you can
enjoy it over the long term just such a critical piece of the puzzle there. John: Yeah I completely agree one of the things
you know that you’ll notice about me and if you watch my videos from I don’t know 6
years back when I started making them I change what I do like, not in any large way I still
eat raw plants you know, fruits and vegetables predominately but I’ve changed things up
a little bit and you can see me in my journey on my YouTube channel changing things up and
I’m highly suspect of people that always keep it the same right cause there in always
new information new data new research studies coming out and just as I learn more and get
more knowledgeable about things in life and I would always encourage you guys to work
on always improving yourselves whether it’s with your diet, your relationships, with growing
your own food ,whatever it is we should always strive to improve and make the world a better
place not only for us but for future generations, so yeah. If something’s is not working change and
modify and be flexible in your approach is the main message. So Dr Rick I know you have a programme coming
up that’s free available for everybody where you are going to have 25 long-term 20-plus
years for the most part raw foodies and people that do a raw plant-based diets successfully
that you guys could all benefit from for free, so tell my viewers about this program and
the summit you have coming up? Dr Rick: Well we have put together a programme
called the Raw For life summit number 1 you can you can have a lot of life and vitality
from eating raw foods and number 2 to keep it up for life so like John said we’ve got
over 25 people who have been successfully and healthfully and enjoyably maintaining
a either high to all raw diet for 18, 25, 30 or more years who have really stood the
test of time and we interview all these people each interviews like 45 minutes to an hour
someone a little bit over and we ask each person what is breakfast lunch and dinner
look like? Why do you do what you do? Is your diet the same today as it was back
when you started? And for most people there’s a certain foundation
but things have changed over time so that flexibility comes in handy. John you mentioned such a good point earlier
with flexibility with anything in life not just what you eat you got to be flexible enough
and change and see what works and what doesn’t. So we find out what they eat, why they eat
it, what gave them incentive in the first place, what kind of education they have and
what kind of flexibility they have? And it’s just so revealing and here’s a perfect
example 29 years in you know doctorate degree lots of education, lots of clinical experience
I learned a lot of new things talking to a lot of these people so it’s called the Raw
for Life summit so I think we’re going to put the link right here put it right there
for you guys, put it right there, there it is and yeah you can hear from all these people
and get their inspiration and again hear from the people who have stood the test of time
who it’s still working for and I’m going to speculate here that you’re probably going
to get some better advice if sticking with this long-term is your goal from listening
to people who have stuck with it long term vs people who are newer. Now we were all new at some point too but
you know when (cross talk: been around the block) when you take the new kids some make
it some don’t. When you take in to account people have been
at it 20 or 30 or more years they’re all in the long term camp, so can’t emphasize
the value of that enough. John: Yeah I mean I definitely recommend once
again I’ll put the link right here below and also there be a link in the description
as well as in the comments so click that to sign up for this free Raw For Life Health
Summit that you can learn and gain from. Now the thing I want to say is that there’s
going to be like 25 different people on the summit that Dr Rick and Dr Karen will be interviewing
and have an open mind, when your listen to you may not agree 100% of everything of any
one person says but they’ll be nuggets right pick out the things that make the most sense
for you and start incorporating those into your life. Dr Rick: Which is the central theme of The
Summit right, that one of the things that all the people do, they just don’t do it one
way we have a variety of approached but we don’t have anyone on there that’s too dogmatic
because the most of the dogmatic people don’t make it over the long term sorry to say, but
you have to be committed. So you’ll see how they find that balance
and you know not everyone agrees with everyone my wife and I don’t agree on everything believe
it or not a husband and wife don’t agree on everything, John and I don’t agree on
everything but we all have a certain foundation and by the way our lead off our lead off speaker
is is John he’s leading off the event cause he’s a 100% raw for a long time lot of (crosstalk
99.9%) people know about him well a lot of 9’s right we’ll cut you a little slack
there well I’m about 90% raw off and that’s what works for me all raw for extended period
but then you know I have some steamed vegetables here and there, so anyway John is our lead
off and it’s just a really great event and again I’ve learned a lot from interviewing
all these people and we’d like you to do the same. John: Awesome so Dr Rick why did you and your
wife Dr Karen decide to put this event on for everybody for free? Dr Rick: Well number 1 we would like to tell
people a little bit more about what we do that we feel like in a lot of ways we’ve been
the best kept secret in raw food nutrition for many years you know we’ve spent a lot
more time educating ourselves then we have marketing ourselves you know most people in
the raw food movement it’s just the opposite they go to a weekend seminar they read a few
books and then they are experts and they spend a lot of money on marketing and they you know
they have their channels they do their blogs and they have a lot of outreach but they know
very little so we been like heavily weighted on the research, the clinical experience,
the teaching, the education the working with people that’s number 1 and number 2 while
we are at it a lot of these summits they just get the people with the biggest list and say
let’s get all these people so we can get the most exposure and although we have some
popular people with big list and we are going to get a lot of good exposure. it was really important to us to maintain
the theme of the summit to just find people who we knew were healthfully and successfully
at this for a long time, to be of the most benefit to all of you so many of these things
you hear the one dogma, you hear the opposite dogma, you leave more confused than you were
before you started. We didn’t want that there’s too much of
that out there and it’s goanna continue, so we really wanted to provide something of
value to really help you keep this up for a lifetime. So you can keep getting all the benefits that
all of us do, that we enjoy so much. It’s such a central theme of our lives for
for good reasons because it enhances our lives and we want that for all of you too. John: Awesome yeah one of the reasons why
I continue to make videos to this day is just to share the knowledge and to help my fellow
man right. I mean this is just good for you, it’s good
for the planet, it’s good for the animals, it’s good for so many different things and
you know I’m glad you guys are watching to this point it is this video this lets me know
that you’re really committed. So I want you click that link right down below
and sign up for the summit that’s coming up really soon don’t miss out on any of
the episode including the first one that I’m in. Aright, Dr Rick so any other comments or things
you like to share with my viewers today? Dr Rick: Find your motivation stack up all
those reasons get some good education we’re not the only ones to do it but you’ll find
some other really awesome educators on the summit and be flexible in your approach see
what works and what doesn’t I’ve got to give a lot of credit to Tony Robbins ultimate
success formula. Number 1 know your outcome yeah you want to
be healthy you want to leave a lighter footprint on the earth etcetera number 2 start taking
action eat more fruits and vegetables and then number 3 this is where most people start
messing up see if it’s working or not and if it is keep it up if it’s not then number
4 change your approach and modify and be flexible and find what does work and you just keep
going through that cycle and you go about it rationally and intelligently you will be
successful and like John touched on earlier whether it’s your diet or anything any other
endeavour in life that’s the way to go about it so. J0hn: Awesome, awesome yeah I agree Dr Rick
and I and Dr Karen went to a Tony Robbins seminar together years ago unleash the power
within… yeah we unleash the fire we did it was great. So if you guys enjoyed this episode with Dr

Sadhguru- Dont Be Identified As A Vegan Or Vegetarian.

See if is a question of survival eat garbage and you survive what’s the problem if it’s about survive I think largely we passed that situation of how to survive now it’s a question of choice we brought life to everything to a choice almost every human being can choose and eat there still is a segment of unfortunate population which cannot choose they have to eat what comes but that’s not so in this country definitely one can choose and eat so once choice comes what to eat there’s a whole dimension of how to know what to eat and what not to eat if I go into this dissin elaborate affair but every human being can generate the necessary awareness that if food appears you know what to eat and what not to eat above all what kind of food is your system designed for that is the kind of food you eat don’t make food into your philosophy or a religion food is about the body it must go through the system with minimum amount of resistance for example because the question is about vegetarian or non-vegetarian how we look at the food is if you eat any food what is happening is the food has to become a part of your system it has to be integrated to become you if the food that you consume has a very complex sense of memory and information then our body’s ability to break it and make it a part of ourselves is reduced if you eat a simple memory code or the genetic code in a particular creature let’s say you eat a vegetable it is very simple or in other words in the evolutionary scale whatever is furthest away from you that’s what you must consume or in other words you never consume a mammal because it is too close to you and it’s memory is too complex and you will never be able to break it down 100% if you consume this partly you break the break down the genetic code another part of it remains or in other words gradually the animal qualities will enter your system and unknowingly these things will find expression people are going through anger stress just simply rage everywhere this is simply because of the one main reason is the food that they’re consuming so whatever is the simplest memory code that is what you must consume so that easily you can break it down and make it a part of yourself or whatever is farthest away from you in the evolutionary scale that’s the best thing so in that context if you must eat non-vegetarian food the fish is the best thing to eat because it is the first form of life on this planet as it gets more complex as you come towards mammals is becoming very complex and that’s not suitable for human consumption we can show various parameters in the body the length of the elementary can all how things happen in the system if you look at all this clearly the body is stating what it wants when it comes to food you should not ask your doctor a guru or a nutritionist now you must ask your body you eat something and see how quickly the food moves out of your stomach back into the intestine if it’s happening very quickly within 2 and 1/2 hours if everything is gone that’s good food to eat if it’s lingering on between 4 to 6 hours that’s not good thing to eat

VEGAN JANUARY 2019| (UK VLOG) DAY 1 | VEGAN FOOD DIARY | VEGANUARY| VEGAN RECIPES IDEAS

Happy new year so this is my first vlog in 2019 so basically I’m on my way to the supermarket so I’m gonna be doing seven day a vlog for you guys of something that’s called a vegan earri basically what it is is a lot of people try going vegan for the month of January after the festive season just as are we it’s a kind of cleanse and detox themself so I’m just under super-marv I’m just going to the supermarket now and I’m gonna show you some of the things that I will be getting and then what I’m gonna be doing with with that is basically I’m gonna give you guys seven-day video so basically a weeks or the video of like a full diary of what I’m eating each day in terms of being vegan meals so yeah I’m just adding to supermarket now and I will see you once I get there under the pressures off you live on it on my time pick it up now IDI down full full pick it up when their bills them come on with me for every trouble there’s our that brings everything together together everybody wanna feel so that’s my main reason for wanting to do this is because I’m actually an aspiring vegan I want to like stop eating like animal products full stop but like put everyone I know that sometimes it’s hard and for me I don’t want any labels like I said I don’t want to not be good I’m not vegetarian I’m not any of those stuff because people get too caught up in the label and then then they feel like they’re judged by other people you know I mean like if you can’t hold it together or whatever to me it’s a process and it’s about your own personal growth and it’s about your own personal health it’s not about anyone else and if you’re doing something better towards your your overall well-being in health today that was better than yesterday it’s still progress so you know like a lot of people just expect you you’ve been eating meat all your life your brain is used to that the chemicals you you know I mean your brain is used to it your palates used to it you you’re used to the taste the texture to smell everyone else around just gonna be doing it so it’s not that we’re gonna be that easy to just like stop eating meat like that a lot of people find it quite challenging for me personally it’s not that challenging because I grew up in a vegetarian family so I was already used to eating like a plant-based diet even though like you know my mom cooked me and stuff like that so it wasn’t hard for me and I think what makes it hard for me is that for instance when you’ve got kids or you’ve got family and not everybody is on the same part there’s you and you have to cook in separate stuff or you know that type of thing but for me it’s not about anything else like it’s not about being strict and to the book because I’m a vegan and I have to live up to this label it’s not about the labels it’s not about any of that it’s about morals and principles for me it’s about what I feel is right I feel I don’t feel like I need to necessarily need the consumptions I don’t necessarily feel like I need the consumption of animal flesh to survive I’ve had diets where I’ve had meat I’ve had diets where I’ve had just mostly plant-based and in my experience my body feels so much better my body my energy therefore my overall well-being my overall well well-being feels so much better and I plan plant-based diet so I’m doing this vegan everything for you guys well I’m doing just be kind of everything so I can share with you guys what the journey is like and to share with you like what type give you ideas because I think that’s where a lot of people always kind of like okay if I must if I stop eating meat what am I gonna eat a lot of people don’t know what to cook because they’ve been used to cook one way and eat one way so I’m gonna just share some of my night like what I’m eating some food diaries and when I when I can I’m gonna try and put most of the recipes of what I’m making in the videos I’m gonna do this for seven days so I don’t know what my days are gonna be like come in if it gets too busy where I can’t put the recipe and I’ll probably have to film it differently but I will show you exactly what I’m eating so I just wanted to say for any anyone who wants to like stop eating me or to cut down on it don’t feel like you’re doing this for anyone else about yourself don’t feel like you know you have to stop everything right now or is you’re gonna feel judged yes I mean I know ideal world if we could it would be great but just see as it’s to do your own personal growth is to do your own health and your own body and if you do it better today than he was yesterday then that’s progress if you used to eat meat five days a week and you’ve reduced it to two days that’s progress if you stopped eating red meat or poultry and you still eatin seafood the still progress you know so every little thing you’re doing it’s still progress don’t don’t don’t worry about the labels that’s why all people ask me am I you gonna able to Terran I’m like I’m nothing I’m not a vegan I’m not a vegetarian I’m not a pescetarian I am nothing I tried to eat as properly as I can within my resources with what I have and with with choices that I have so for instance if I go somewhere there’s a meat choice and there’s a vegetarian choice I’m gonna go with the choice but not everybody’s gonna have choice all the time sometime you’re just gonna have a bless you food and eat it you know so I just want to say like it’s not about the pressure it’s not about the label it’s not about the the trend because sometimes people treat veganism like a cult it’s about your own personal growth your own personal well-being is about your health is about your body and the type of fool the type of information you’re feeding your body and your selves in your DNA and how this food is making you feel you know as in my previous video with my brother we said that food is information it’s information because when you eat this like for instance when you eat this piece of carrot your body is taking the nutrients and the vitamins out of it that’s information the bittermann see the labels we give it that’s information that your body’s taken from this and if speeding yourselves is replenishing yourselves it’s renewing them and you know it’s sustaining your lifeforce so as I said whoever wants to join me on this journey please do please share in the comments your ideas and what you make in and stuff like that I’d love to hear from you I’m gonna post as much of that kind of my Instagram as well as give you guys this 7-day blog and give you some ideas of recipes and stuff what I’m eating another misnomer another kind of thing I want to clear up is a lot of people always say well vegan and vegetarian diet is expensive I don’t think it necessarily is I think you pay for it in one way or another you’re either gonna pay to put quality food in your body or you’re gonna page to put cheap food in your body and then pay later on with your health you know will having deteriorated health or doctor bills so it balances out you know you you pay one way or either spend money on quality food how could you not want to put quality fuel in this engine well this is this is your house this is your permanent house while you’re still here because when this falls away in decay you you cease to exist how could you not want to pay to put the best of the best in your vehicle this is what’s sustaining you this is what enable you to get up and go to work and to do to spend time with your loved ones and do everything you need to do so to me you shouldn’t want to put quality into this I rather spend quality on my food tonight I’m putting quality ingredients in my body don’t go and buy any designer handbag or Footwear or whatever what is that doing for me it’s not doing anything so when a lot of people can’t make that an excuse as to why they don’t want to eat healthy I think it’s an excuse an excuse an excuse you know I mean either way if you want to make something happen you’ll find a way so I think food is your fuel that’s how I’ll play this is my life course this was sustaining me because when I don’t eat I can collapse so how could I not want to put the best of the best in it how could I not want to spend thousands of whatever on this but I want to go on by red some red bottoms for seven hundred pounds that don’t make sense anyway yeah you guys thought I’ve done my shop in I wouldn’t say it was X more expensive than my usual shopping the only thing I’d say is your produce I’ll show you turn the camera around the only difference is when you change to a plant-based diet you find that your trolley should be full of life so it should be full of fresh vegetables so it should be full of fresh vegetables fresh fruits so the produce that you’re bringing in your home half of it is real live fruits so you’re eliminating a lot of canned stuff you’re in a eliminating a lot of process stuff so most of what I got was fresh produce and I’ve got like some dried stuff like dry peas dry lentils and stuff like that so I wouldn’t say it was necessarily more expensive the only thing I would say is next time I would rather let me turn the camera around yeah the only thing I would say is next time rather than my fruit on the supermarket which I don’t think give you the best quality of fruits because a lot of these stuff have been exported I’ve been sitting on freezer they’re lacking in nutrients and I don’t know for anyone else but when I buy my fruit from the supermarket or vegetables you leave in for two or three days and they go soft they go sake so I know that like a lot of it it’s just nonsense so if you’ve got local farmers market close to you if you’ve got local green grocers and I think it’s much cheaper and the quality of fruits and vegetable you gain it will be much more better so I only got a new supermarket this round because I wanted to start this to begin a vegan you everything and I didn’t have time but my next round of shopping is definitely not gonna be from there except for whatever I need like dried stuff so a few moments later I’m gonna be make taking you through what I’m gonna be having today so the first thing I’m gonna have this morning is I’m gonna have I’m not I’m not really a eater in the morning to be honest I don’t like heavy stuff on me in the morning I like light stuff so I always eat fruits so I think I’m gonna have a green juice and maybe a fruit bowl so I’ll show you what I’m preparing that and I’ll show you at the end guys what I’m using for my what I’m using my green juice today is kale cucumbers green apple lemon and ginger usually I would also put celery in this but I forgot to get some yeah everybody wanna be with me do not feel I reckon the troubles and a rough me clean energy boosts in the morning we need to open your balls this is perfect for that as well so yeah breakfast today someone asked me before do you put sugar in the green juice no you don’t if you want the green juice to have a sweet taste you can add green fruits like green apple kiwi and stuff like that like this right now it’s quite sweet to me because I put two apples in there you don’t require any sugar that’s kind of defeating the object of you know using green juice to cleanse you and detox you by adding sugar to it so it’s it tastes good to me it’s I don’t know maybe because I’ve become used to it I think eventually I think initially when I started out it was really hard to get used to it and I really like force myself cuz you anything you kind of force yourself like anything you kind of repeat repeat eventually it becomes a happy you know and eventually you you but your palate starts to become used to it now I can’t down this in one minute no problem and it doesn’t do anything to me when I drink this it makes me feel energized my skin and glows regularly used to the toilet stuff like that but just to share some products with you guys lemon water as well as always perfect in the morning to give you your system and have a good cleanup throughout this process of this detox in part of what I’m doing is I’m taking some supplements as well which I got from my brother I to life I’m taking my favorite product of theirs which is their colon button if you can see it their colon cleanser he gave me an organ cleanser as well and a mucus cleanser and he gave me some blood cleansing herbs there you go it gave me some blood cleansing herbs and iron which I can boil and make this into a tea but this product here that the colon cleanser yeah this product here the caller turns that I’ve taken off one bottle already like literally when I take this in when I take that stuff literally it flares you out like you just emptied your system and you’re what for me my stomach just went so flat like it just entered me out so I really love that so again shut up – I – like for these products of blood blood cleanse our colon cleanse our organ cleanser and new Costanza so I’m gonna be taking these while I’m on this journey sharing with you guys so yeah I’m gonna have my breakfast and then I’ll go start my day and I’ll see you guys back at dinner time I don’t think I’ll have a lunch I don’t have I don’t have much of an appetite if I do eat anything in the day I will show you at dinner time it’d probably be snacks like fruits or seeds or nuts almonds and stuff like that but I don’t think I would be anything when do you get to run some errands so I’ll see you back when I’m making dinner peace hi guys so I’m back and I’m gonna make some dinner I think I’m gonna make something quick cuz I’m a little bit tired tomorrow and I’m not really rested I’ll try and get a bit more creative with it I’m gonna make something quick just gonna make like a vegetable stir-fry so I don’t think I’m thinking I don’t need to do the recipe for this because it’s really straightforward it’s literally brown noodles and I just bought one of these multi because I’ve been losing a multipack stir-fry vegetable thing and I’m gonna like put chunks of mushrooms in it mushroom like is really great for texture if you’re a texture person that like that kind of buy it meat extra mushrooms good and I’m gonna use chilli sauce sweet chilli sauce so this is really straightforward it’s just I’m gonna boil the noodles and then once the noodles are boiled I’m gonna stir fry this season it up give it some flavor with the mushrooms maybe add some sweet sweet chilli sauce then either noodles to it and then maybe just have some salad or avocado on it’s really straightforward tonight quick easy and simple so I’m gonna get doing that I’ll show you little clips of it but I don’t think I need to show you how to do this one I’ll show you some other recipes but this was quite straightforward so yeah I put some oyster sauce in there we topped it with avocado and it actually tastes good this is it guys thank you so much for watching this is day one and I’ve got six more days to go see you in my next video.
