RECIPES:

—– BREAKFAST —–
1. Stovetop Oats
Combine 3/4 cup rolled oats and 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk in a small pot over high heat. When boiling, reduce heat to low and let simmer, stirring occasionally and watching to make sure it doesn’t boil over. Once thick, stir in 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 mashed banana. Remove from heat and serve with any toppings. My favourites are peanut butter, strawberries and banana.

2. Baked Oatmeal
Combine 1/2 cup oats, 1 mashed banana, cinnamon (optional), 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 cup almond milk. Place in a mini ramekin or other oven safe dish and bake for 25 minutes at 350F. Add any desired toppings, my favourites are strawberries and peanut butter with almond milk.

—– LUNCH —–
1. Lettuce Wraps
Take a piece of Romaine Lettuce (or any lettuce with a large, flexible leaf) and fill it with brown rice/quinoa, smoked tofu/veggie beef cooked in hoisin sauce, sautéed bell peppers/carrots/zucchini/or any vegetables, sautéed onions and mushrooms, avocado and salsa, nutritional yeast or vegan cheese, hot sauce, and anything else of your choice.

2. Avo-Tomato Sandwich
On two slices of bread/bagel, spread 1/2 a mashed avocado, a sprinkle of nutritional yeast and add some tomato slices. Optional things I like to add are spinach/lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, and ground flax seeds.

—– DINNER —–
1. Spaghetti and “Meat” Balls
Boil spaghetti pasta according to package instructions and set aside.
In a pot, steam chopped broccoli until tender. Saute mushrooms, onions, and any other desired vegetables until cooked. Separately bake/saute bought “meat” balls.
Optionally, you can bring saute all of this together in a large skillet with the tomato sauce to make a more uniform “meat” sauce, or it can just be dished into a bowl with the spaghetti with sauce over top.

2. Pesto Pasta
In a dry skillet over medium-high heat, toast 1/2 cup of pine nuts until golden brown. Set aside. In a food processor, process two bunches of cilantro and 4 cloves of garlic. Once mixed, add in your toasted pine nuts, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tbsp lemon juice, optional smoked paprika, and process until smooth. If it’s too dry, add in some olive oil or water until it reaches your desired consistency.
I love putting this over pasta (whole wheat, rice or zoodles) with avocado and nutritional yeast.

3. Veggie Burgers
Prepare patty’s according to package instructions, or make your own.
I like to eat mine on a toasted whole wheat bun with hummus, avocado, tomato, any other veggies (spinach, lettuce, sprouts, mushrooms, etc), and nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor.

4. Spring Rolls
Prepare angel hair or fettuccine rice noodles as per package instructions. Chop up bell pepper, cilantro, avocado, cucumber, mushrooms, smoked tofu, bean shoots, and shred some carrots. Soak your rice paper wrap in lukewarm water for about 10 seconds until soft, then fill with any fillings of your choice. Dip into peanut sauce.
Peanut Sauce Recipe:
In a food processor, process 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1/4 cup tamari (soy sauce), 1/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon hot sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar or other natural sweetener until smooth. Be sparse with soy sauce as it can be quite salty.
An alt. spring roll recipe –

5. Chickpea Omelet
Blend or hand mix 2/3 cup water, 1/3 cup chickpea flour, 1 tbsp ground flax seed, 1 tbsp nutritional yeast, 1/8 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. Pour it over a greased skillet over medium-high heat. Let it cook like you would a normal omelet, flipping when the edges are firm and there are bubbles. Once the other side is cooked, put it on a plate and fold over any fillings. I fill it with sauteed veggies (mushrooms, spinach, bell pepper and zucchini) and sprinkle on nutritional yeast.

HOW TO BE RAW VEGAN ON A BUDGET – 20 TIPS

Oh my gosh I have passed figs Wow being robbed vegan on a budget is definitely doable I have now been raw almost ten years and honestly I don’t make that much money so I’m gonna share some of my tips with you today and of course not everything is gonna be applicable to everybody but I’m sure if you stay through the video that you can find at least one takeaway tip for yourself look at your budget I know it sounds like cliche almost annoying advice to hear in the past I’ve looked into raw retreats and they’re like thousands of dollars and the response that I get from the people who are putting it on is like well what’s the cost of your health really cat and it’s almost a trick question because of course your health is priceless but we also have to be smart about our money and if getting in debt it’s gonna stress you in the long run like mental health is something you have to care about as well so of course I believe your health is priceless but I’m also not here to tell you to buy that $12 pint of blueberries because they’re healthy for you if you’re asking how much it costs to be raw you know very likely it will cost more than a processed diet so it might be worthwhile to reevaluate your expenses and see if there’s any reworking you can do when it comes to your spending really look at where your money is going and decide if it’s important to you make your staple foods cheap ones bananas are a great example buy in bulk in order to get case discounts and this is gonna work for fresh fruit it works for coconut water or juices anything that you want to buy in bulk you should be able to get the wholesale price for something like a 10 to 15% case discount at any grocery store don’t be shy to talk to the staff at grocery stores and farmers markets as well research your nearest wholesaler some of them even do delivery get creative I found a really good grocery store one time because I was talking to a restaurant owner about where he got his produce shop locally and in season because of its natural abundance in season fruit is likely going to be less expensive than something that’s been shipped in is it being shipped in right now [Music] and of course this also helps support your local farmers find aesthetically challenged fruit or veggies at your grocery store or farmers market sometimes they have a rack where it’s already marked down to scale fruit sometimes you can even just talk to them one-on-one and say hey this is kind of funky it’s probably headed for the trash but I’ll take it off your hands for you you just want to mark it down for me I did go over this in my other video and I’ll link that below don’t waste your coin there are quite a few on this topic so I’ll start with one which would be low calorie fruit something like out of season fresh raspberries for example those are gonna be so expensive I would consider them definitely as a luxury item and maybe use some more as like enhancements to your meals if you really want to go for that flavor so adding a few into your smoothie just to get that raspberry flavor or adding them as little toppings to your desserts instead of trying to make like a whole monomial out of them I’d say to think before you buy superfoods these can be quite pricy and not always worth it don’t waste your point on smoothies from restaurants I think once in a while it’s great to treat yourself but most of the time you’ll be able to make that same meal at home for a fraction of the price lastly don’t waste your money on the pre-cut prepackaged fruits and veggies in the like quick grab fridge sections of grocery stores I know it seems convenient but it’s just their way of squeezing dollars out of you while making use of their moldy fruit that’s what they do they’re cutting off the bad sections and it’s great I think as far as like sustainability and using all the parts of the fruit but they’re quite overpriced at the end of the day nobody’s getting a deal walking out a Whole Foods with like a little twelve dollar cup of watermelon and that touches on that low calorie point from the beginning is really understand how many calories you’re getting out of each dollar you’re spending watermelons on that note be prepared for outings if you know you’re someone who’s likely to get peckish so bring food with you or simply know where you can access cheap fruit while you’re out and if you’re asking what is cheap fruit like how if I’m getting a deal that’s a great question and I’m gonna encourage you to shop around there’s definitely a learning curve to this if you’re someone who’s new to buying fresh produce something I do and would definitely recommend with regard to shopping around is I keep a digital note on my phone and as I go to the different grocery stores and farmers markets in my neighborhood I have a list of my staple foods that I kind of always buy my favorite items and I will write the different costs for each store of course costs are gonna very subtly but I start to get an idea of trends of the cost of each fruit or vegetable how that changes throughout the year and how that differs from store to store in terms of like which ones are the more fancy grocery stores that are just charging work if they can and which ones are more like budget-friendly I’d also recommend exploring Asian markets if you have access my experience is that they have pretty good prices generally and a selection of exotic fruits that are hard to find anywhere else talk to other raw vegans and vegans especially the ones in your area you can do this in person or online like Instagram or 30 bananas a day pick their brain ask where they get their cheapest stuff the raw vegan and making community is amazing and I’ve had such a phenomenal time at every gathering that I’ve been to but I would never want anyone to get this idea that they have to blow the bank on an expensive raw vegan retreat just to maintain this lifestyle cuz that’s not the case of course you have the online community for support but there’s nothing better than in real life connection and there’s definitely budget-friendly ways to do that free options include pot Luck’s in your area or a lot of gatherings are free more like one-day events that are just hosted in a park or something as for longer-term events look into your volunteer options retreats need staff festivals needs that I’ve been to at least four festivals now and I have volunteer to every single one of them and of course it’s going to be a different experience because you’re working a lot of the time but it made it possible for me actually attend on the topic of travel think about how to factor your diet into your travel plans for example it’s gonna be tremendously cheaper to be a fruitarian in Thailand then it would be in Japan it’s gonna be cheaper to travel as a fruitarian in the tropics than it would be in Alaska in wintertime for example of course your diet is not here to rule your life but it’s something to take into consideration if it’s important to you and you’re on a budget as another option maybe consider combining whooping into your travel experience if that makes sense for you you know finding a farm you can stay on work on and eat from I do have a video on this topic and I’ll link that below as well there are a lot of guerilla farming that’s happening and just natural seed spreading that’s happening so there are wild plants that you can eat from foraging is gonna be location dependent and see them dependent but definitely consider it as an option the more and more that I learned about fruit and fruit trees the more as I’m driving around I can spy them in neighborhoods so get educated on what fruit trees look like you can also access different maps online I know when I was staying in California I just googled like fruit neighborhood map or something with these keywords and I was able to find so many fig trees in my area that were just public like on the side of the road that nobody else was accessing oh my gosh I have to pass to fig Wow so there are fruit maps available there’s also Craigslist some homeowners have fruit trees in their backyard that are really just a nuisance to them and they put ads like can somebody please come pick my oranges or have free oranges that may be also accessible on Facebook groups for your neighborhood you can also put an ad on Craigslist like will come pick your fruit if I can eat it I will soon be a full-on glowing orb as the Sun that’s right here Oh better so check out your map options Craigslist and heck I wouldn’t be surprised if there were even apps nowadays that facilitate foraging consider working or volunteering even a couple times a month at your local farmers market grocery store farm or co-op I say this because employees will often read the benefit of partial discounts or extra free food plus the networking opportunities of countless I know organic can be so expensive so maybe you can’t buy it right now and that’s okay and it doesn’t have to be all or nothing maybe you can just buy some and not others get educated if you’re sensitive on which produce is most susceptible to chemicals consider secondary options so of course fresh fruits and vegetables are gonna be ideal most of the time for a digestion and nutrition etc but there’s still some really great healthy secondary options that might be worth including cuz they’re a little easier on the budget most of the time in my mind this includes dried fruit and vege frozen fruit and vege fruit and veggie juice like bottled and maybe it’s even pasteurized and that’s okay with you you know we really have to find what works best for us and at the end of the day that’s gonna be healthy or no doubt and buying like soda bah minimize eating out I say this because restaurant meals will likely not fill up the stomach of a raw vegan if being honest and maybe there’s raw vegan gourmet on offer but I find that’s not worth it for me it ends up costing me my gut with too many refined and fatty ingredients I end up just healing you’ll grow your own simple things like herbs or scallion can be really expensive in the store and practically effortless to grow at home even something like kale does pretty well a lot of places because it’s so hard me so research in your area talk to your local farmers or research online you can figure it out shop online to find the best deals for particular items so your favorite superfoods powder is flavoring supplements even kitchen equipment using powders or supplements might be helpful for you from one person to the next we’re gonna have different deficiencies or lifestyle based need if you’re lacking in particular minerals for example it might require like a whole box of mixed greens to supplement you for that those boxes can be like six to nine dollars and if you have to have that every day that’s gonna add up as an alternative you could simply add a scoop of green powder to your movie so that way you get your nutrient requirements without breaking the bank learn how to prepare healthy satisfying raw vegan meals at home this was huge for me on my journey not only did it help save me money from going to restaurants but also helped me develop my relationship with my body and food and you too and that will find your personal way that become more efficient and cost effective with meal prep so to help you with this I have my four recipe books if you’re interested in low-fat raw vegan cuisine I like to focus on Whole Foods so there’s no processed ingredients like salt or oil nothing like now let’s show you or maple syrup or agave my priority still is on the texture and taste so you’ll be feeling really satisfied and if you want to go for all four books there’s a 15% off discount just so you know those are my 20 tips I hope you enjoyed watching this video and now it was helpful for you if you would like to support me and support the vegan message give it a blank i’m sending so much love your way and support on your raw vegan journey you can do it and thanks so much bearing with me as I shift it around to accommodate this son what do you think the world are all around you

Vegan Millionaires Shortbread YEAAAAAAAHH!!!

Hi, today I’m going to be showing you guys how to make vegan millionaire shortbreads I know what you’re thinking ah that sounds long it’s not it’s really easy but the one thing that you really do need for my recipe is a condensed a condensed can of soy milk a can of condensed soy milk and there are other ways of doing it which you can look up online but this is the one that I found the best for like holding its shape and you if you follow me on instagram you might have seen that I was doing it giveaway for said before you get millionaire’s shortbreads and these are the exact ones I’m gonna be giving away so if you were the winner you can see me picking my nose where they’re making them and working it in the batter quick sidenote firstly I don’t know what’s going on with my eye makeup today I cannot get it even you know people are like oh why browser sisters not twins for what what’s the thing with winged eyeliner and secondly what’s gone on here my hair started to go kind of greeny gray I’m not mad at it though I don’t mind it anyway complete side note that let’s actually get on with some cricket are we okay so let’s get started what I’ve weighed out so far is a hundred grams of caster sugar and 220 grams of plain flour in my bowl I’m going to give them a stir we’re making a shortbread base first just make sure all the sugar and all the flour is combined before you add the butter just to make sure it’s all mixed evenly really okay oh me whoops hey well annoyingly that was just off camera but I did actually flick flour all over myself now I’ve had a quick clean up after the break I’m gonna add in 125 grams of soy butter I’ve got this dairy-free pure one you can use whatever you want vital lights another good go to say 125 grams are going in here Oh oh my god 124 let’s leave it there cuz otherwise I’m gonna go over it right you do not leave this guy’s misstep and are we on camera yes you’re just gonna go in with your hands so I’ve taken off all my lovely little sparkly rings and we’re just gonna start combining this bit is really fun it’s kind of it feels kind of gross but also lush so I’ve lined my Tim and this bit is really important so don’t try to get away without doing it which is something that I probably would have done back in the day before I was a genius I’ve just put parchment paper in and these sides have got a bit more of the soy butter just spread around it I promise you you are not getting this guy out of the tin if you don’t mind it like I said be sensible and do it got my dough here look at that for buttery biscuit base I’m just gonna press it in and then we’re gonna work it into all of the corners so it’s nice and even and super flat and I’m probably going to fast forward this bit because I doubt you want to be doing this for 10 minutes right it’s all pushed into the corners nice and evenly the neater you can get it the nicer it’s going to work when you take it out I’ve pricked it with a fork to ensure an even think as Mary berry would say and I’m going to put it in the other at the moment I’m on gas mark 6 so I think about between 180 200 200 might be to got 180 in a fan of them and I think it’s going to go in for about 15 minutes but I’ll let you know cuz sometimes everyone’s oven is different everyone’s having gets hot then of the Robins just make sure it’s in the middle of the oven so that one side doesn’t get more cooked than the other okay let’s do this right the shortbread still in the oven don’t start heating the caramel until the shortbreads out and quite cool I’m just going to show you basically the start of the caramel so in here I’ve got half my tin of condensed soy milk which I threw away this is the brand that I had set on the camera yes it is so yeah so I’ve got half a can of that I’m doing this recipe in half quantities because I made it the other day so I only had one pan just double it if you want to make a big batch but yeah half of that went into here and then I put in a tablespoon of golden syrup and then 50 grams of brown sugar and I’m just gonna mix it all together before I put it on the heat I just wanted to show you what it looks like and then I’ll show you again when I’m heating it and what it looks like then so my shortbread base is out I think it was in for about 20 minutes it’s nice and golden oh my god I can smell it smells so good so now that’s how I’ve started to put the heat on on the old caramel should probably move the camera but it’s just starting to melt so I’ve got it on a really low heat and it’s probably going to take about five six minutes to be the consistency that I want it to but basically you want all the sugar to have melted all the butter to have melted and it will start to thicken up just keep you need to stay in the room with it so don’t go off and go to the toilet or anything like that and yeah I’ll show you what it looks like when it’s done oh hey I’m so annoyed right it is pretty much at the consistency that I want now you can see how much it’s not even on the camera yeah how much it’s thickened up but it’s still a pourable which is great because once it starts to set it’s really hard to spread evenly so I’m gonna pour it on in a sec alright guys we’re going in oh my god make sure you get every single last bit this is actually a great tip that I’m about to share with you that I haven’t done but I’ve just thought of have a pan up our pan a oh my god look at that I’m gonna move it around a bit in a sec fill in all the little gaps isn’t gonna be so great what I was gonna say is have a sink of hot water ready because once it’s set onto your pan you’re gonna be right that’s that bit done now we just need to leave it to cool yeah right now we are going to make the top at the chocolate top the caramel isn’t completely set but it is hard to the touch still a bit warm though and this is perfect for pouring it on because it’s not going to mix it and it’s still at the top it’s gonna sit on top I am making my chocolate for those of you again who follow me on instagram you’ll see that quite often I post little handmade chocolates this is how I make them and I just really like to do it it’s basically just coconut oil golden syrup or agave if you want to be sugar free but if you want to be sugar free don’t do this recipe because you’re a heart attack and cocoa powder ah basically you just combine like this quarter cup of melted coconut oil with a quarter cup of cocoa powder make sure it’s all in there you can’t just use store-bought chocolate if you can’t bother to do this thing or if you can’t get a hold of coconut oil and mix it together it’s so chocolatey and so like rich and it just sets in the fridge when the coconut oil goes hard I just really like making it but like I said buy your own from just make sure it’s vegan dark chocolate and you can just Mouse it with a tiny bit of soy cream or even a splash of soy milk just to make it a bit more ganache like so it cuts nicely and doesn’t shatter right so that’s the chocolatey syrup but if you eat it like this it will taste disgusting because it will be so bitter so we’re gonna add some golden syrup and I’m putting in about a tablespoon I don’t want this to be too sweet because the whole thing in itself super-sweet so again combiner and if you’re making if you’re going to use this to make little chocolates this is the stage as you can see it’s getting like really glossy and beautiful this is the stage when you just pour it into the little molds to make sure it’s all whipped up if you don’t mix it properly it has a habit of separating and all the sweet stuff goes at the bottom and then you get a very bitter cocoa on top it’s actually not that bad because it kind of tastes a bit like a truffle but I don’t want that for this because I’ve got a post them as well so these need to hold up in the post okay now I’m going to pour it on there will be a link below to a CD available with one of my singing on it they went really I did not know by man my mum okay that’s make sure you’ve got all of it you don’t have to rush massively with this part because the coconut oil doesn’t really satin till it’s gotten pretty cold in the fridge they pour it on just drizzle it around make sure that all of the caramel is covered oh my god there it is now it’s gonna go back in the fridge to set when it’s kind of half there I’m going to put some decorations on the top if you put them on now they’ll literally just disappear free the chocolate look in that is how you make raw vegan chocolate by the way so I’m gonna put it in the freezer because I want it to hurry up but if you’ve got all day put it in the fridge so that’s it they’re done it was a sip as that thank you so much for watching and as always if you make any take a picture and tag me on Instagram or Twitter or whatever you want to do just let me know because I love to see you guys making my stuff thanks again bye

Longevity and a Vegan, Plant Based Diet – Brian Clement

now can you imagine if these people gave up eating any animal-based food and how much longer they may live because from the loma linda studies which is v blue zone that was just added recently they showed that plant-based eaters live an average of seven years longer than meat-eaters and unfortunately in these blue zones many people don’t follow their own rules so they may be cheating and eating small amounts of meat and dairy here at Epocrates we’ve shown the best of blue zones on the planet earth ever in the history of humanity there’s no meat there is no dairy people do live longer none of us age the way the rest of the population ages not because we’re exceptional because their degradation because they are the exception to the way they should be living one thing that Hippocrates prides ourselves on is we’re not mono focused on diet alone longevity is a compilation of different attitudes movement exercise food and even a spiritual life whatever that may be for you whatever that individually is for you what we know is that we’re multifaceted creatures and we need to start with an attitude of purpose and if we know why we’re here and what we can contribute we’re bound to want to do so we know that exercise is equally important to food because you could eat the best food in the world but not being mobile with your body and the muscle structure building your bones are gonna get weak you’re going to age your hormone levels are going to go down your minds not going to be as astute and we don’t want that so we want to do weight lifting exercise stretching exercise and aerobic exercise we know that when you don’t alter a food and you eat raw plant-based organic food it has not only the many nutrients that we already can identify in biological science but how many more are there we the yet to discover and we may find out tomorrow or a hundred years from now that there’s elements in this food because you haven’t processed it that is really the key to why we live a long time this work began in 1954 by dr. Harman and dr. Harman realized that when you gave certain nutria to the human cell they were antioxidants and helped to prevent free radicals we also know that exercise and other lifestyle points help to prevent free radicals and some free radicals are not so bad for you but we want to take the masses of free radicals and hold them back we also know that when you think that you’re part of something larger whatever that may be the universe God religion it always gives you an ability to free yourself of stress and study after study has shown people who have faith true on adulterated faith live longer and when you combine those as we have here you can have magic occur where people live long happy healthy productive lives I don’t want to live a long life if I’m not productive that should be your mantra I want to live a productive long life you
