Every one of us right now could get depressed piece of cake all we have to do is focus on all the tragedy that’s happening the world right now even little pieces of it children they’re dying right now starvation we can make pictures in our head out those bloated stomachs hearing the cries of babies just as they pass off into death sing flies eating their flesh how’s that for graphic at the same time every one of us could be an absolute total pleasure interrupts that pattern of a picture you’re looking at and think of something a great total pleasure and you know what they’re resilient things but to do that you have to stop focusing you have to delete all the negativity in the world and focus on things that make it feel great so you could focus on a relationship you have you could focus on how much you’ve already learned in the last six or seven or eight days you could focus on the people that love you you could focus on your ability as a human being to change your life at any moment in time you could focus on what learning means to you you could focus on the Sun you could focus on breathing fresh air you could focus on the fact you live in a free country you could focus on the fact that you have a connection with your Creator you could focus on anything and feel incredible you could focus on new babies being born to this moment they had a greater opportunity in life than any time in our history there’s so much we could focus on it feel good about the challenge is this you must control it through questions questions change what we delete we’re always deleting human beings we’re not gonna stop deleting things as long as I’m gonna delete things why not delete things that disempower you and focus on the things that empower you does that make sense the third thing that questions do is they help you to get access to resources within yourself I’m a big believer that anything you’ve ever wanted to accomplish you’ve already got the resources inside of you to make it happen that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go out and learn from somebody else or model the success of others I’m just saying the things you need to succeed are already in your core the resources are there you just need to get access to them by asking better questions I’ll give an example if I ask myself questions like gosh can I really do this that creates a feeling of doubt to hear how that does that and that feeling of doubt will keep me in a state where I’m not gonna get the most out of myself but if instead I ask myself a question how can I make this thing happen right now more powerfully than I ever dreamed of and have fun doing it if I keep asking that question my brain will get access to more of my ability because whatever I ask for my brain will give me but if you ask your brain can I really do this and you do it with a tone of voice of doubt you are gonna get access to the resources called out does that make sense if you think about it the greatest communicators the greatest teachers of all time were not people that so much taught us as they did ask us they shared things with us but they got us to use our own resources they ask questions all the great speakers have done this hey Martin Luther King asked questions about a dream John F Kennedy asked don’t ask what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country he wanted you to take the resources out of yourself and contribute and expand our country you must learn to ask habitual questions that empower you I want you to know that I believe the success in my life has all come down to one basic skill state management but a consistent basis I’ve learned how to manage my state and therefore I’ve been able to get myself to breakthrough and take action with very few people around me were able to do the same they were able to that’s probably not the best description they weren’t using their power because they didn’t have access to all of it and I’ve done that by everyday doing things that would increase my physical ability flexibility power energy by the way I’m moving the way I breathe and also by consistently and daily conditioning myself to ask the kinds of questions to create the kinds of focus that moves me towards larger levels of contribution and joy and fun and success and passion instead of the things that would pull me down that would pull me to areas of frustration and anger and giving up listen there is no capability difference between you and someone you consider to be an ultimate role model of success the only difference is they’ve learned to use their mind and body with more power on a consistent basis they have learned a manager state they’ve learned to use their body effectively whether they know it or not consciously doesn’t matter a lot of people do things without being aware of how they do it and they’ve learned to control their mental focus remember whatever we concentrate our focus on consistently and strive to learn from and make new distinctions about we will get great at I don’t care what it is if you focus on it daily and you strive to be better you’re gonna make little distinctions that’ll make you more and more effective every single day so you better decide what you want to focus on in your life and what you want to experience on a daily basis because that’s where your power is gonna come from that’s where your power is going to emit from that’s the genesis of your power I want you to know that many things that you think are impossible or difficult are only difficult or impossible because of the way you’re focusing on things you’re focusing on how it can’t be done and you can remember whatever you focus on is what you get so if you focus on how it can’t be done you are absolutely right and no one’s gonna prove you wrong so why not focus on what’s possible and create that I mean that’s how I created things like the firewalk seminar all I did was hold a new level of possibility instead of focusing on how it couldn’t be done or how it was a terrible thing or something like that I focused on hey this is an incredible example of possibility and if other people can do it my focus and my question is if they can do it then how can we do it how can I share it with other people how could it be used as an empowering experience it’s a lot of fun I did the same thing with teach people wood breaking you know I teach people how to break wood karate style not in two years but in about 20 minutes again not to make them this powerful person but to show them that by simply changing their mental focus by controlling their physical emotional state and by modeling someone’s success that they can get results in 30 minutes that takes most people two years and they have what we call a breakthrough literally I want you to know that you have every right in any moment of time to feel lousy to feel bad to feel sorry to feel hurt I am NOT saying by this tape program that you should never be disappointed or frustrated or angry or anything else because all of those emotions have their place in their proper proportion hey some of my greatest frustrations or angers or upsets or would have driven some of my greatest successes because it’s made me search for more but see what’s interesting is the pain drove me but what changed me from other people who just gave up is I ask better questions I found a way say what can I learn how can I grow from this how can I expand from this what can I take from this experience that’ll empower me what can I learn from this so I never have to experience it again and by asking empowering questions how can I take advantage of this what’s the actual benefit in this situation that I probably hadn’t noticed I began to find benefits whereas other people said why did this happen to me why does this always happen to me why did you do this to me Lord how come I’m not smart enough to pull this off why do I keep self sabotaging see that’s the difference between success and failure so I want you to know I’m not saying you can’t feel bad I’m just saying and when you’re done feeling bad here’s how to change and you may not want to spend quite so much time feeling bad in the future because feeling bad is based on focus if you change your focus you can feel good instantly right now at this moment now so let me ask you a few questions and what I’d like you to do for your homework is design some questions every morning my life I wake up and I ask myself questions now the truth is you already do this too the only problem is you’re not doing it consciously think about it when you’re shaving are you thinking and talking to yourself know that the process of thinking is nothing but asking and answering questions you’re doing it constantly that’s where your thoughts come from think about it now you might say well no that’s not true yes it is true if you said no it’s true or yes it is it’s because you ask yourself the question is that true or something like it see some of the questions you ask are subconscious your brain is deciding all the time if I get in this car if I turn here what’s gonna happen is that car coming too close or too far you’re asking questions constantly subconsciously but you’re also doing it consciously when you’re shaving or putting on your makeup or shampooing you’re asking questions but it might be questions like God why do I always have to do this why do I have to go to work today think about the kind of states that those questions create and what would be some more empowering questions like what could I do today that would make today more fun than ever before what can I do today that would create a breakthrough in my business what could I do today to connect more with my family members I wonder what’s gonna happen today that’ll make me feel total pleasure for no reason I wonder what I’ll see today that I haven’t seen before see those kinds of questions will empower you if you’re bored it’s cuz you ask lousy questions probably ask questions like why do I have to do this why do we do this all the time why do we always do these things versus looking around saying hi what could I notice today that I haven’t before see what can I see that I haven’t seen before what can I smell that I haven’t smelled before see it’s called directing your computer so here are some questions you might want to answer right now in your own mind and notice how they make you feel question 1 what are you really most happy about your life right now what’s one of the things you’re most happy about in your life right now answer that question in your own head what are you most happy about in your life right now or if your brain goes nothing what could you be happy about if you wanted to be if you ever ask a question yourself and somebody says well I don’t feel that way or I don’t think that way so I know you don’t but if you did or if you could what could you feel happy about right now think about it have you thought of something well good I’m asked a question what about that makes you happy third question how does that make you feel really allow yourself to feel don’t just go well my drip-drop II feel the feelings what else are you really happy about in your life right now think of a second thing what else are you really happy about in your life right now what about that makes you feel happy how does that make you feel here’s the second question for you what are you really excited about in your life right now what are you really excited about in your life right now answer the question in your mind think about it or what could you be excited about if you wanted to be excited about something think about it oh come on you’ve got more things to be excited about think what about that makes you excited why does that make you excited how does it make you feel what else you excited about your life right now come on what else what else are you really excited about your life right now or could you be excited about if you wanted to how does that make you feel here’s a third question for you what are you really grateful for in your life right now what are you really grateful for in your life right now what are some of the things you’re grateful for what could you be grateful for if you wanted to be answer the question honestly how does that make you feel I want you to notice do you feel state changes you answer these questions from where you were a few moments before that’s it so you can change your state instantly and you can make yourself feel great there’s so much to feel grateful for if you want my formula for wealth it’s real simple live every day in an attitude of gratitude say the more you feel like you have the more you’ll experience in your life and the more you’ll be willing to give see make sure that you’re always trying to give more than you take back and feel grateful for everything you have and you will be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams but you got to control your focus let me ask you another one what are you really proud of in your life right now what are you really proud about in your life right now or what could you be proud about in your life so far what are some of the things what about those things makes you feel proud how does that make you feel what else are you really proud of in your life right now how does that make you feel and here’s a final question for you who do you really love most in your life and who loves you think about it and don’t just go all my mom my dad my brother my sister get some feeling step into those experiences and feel what it feels like thing about who loves you and how that makes you feel who do you love and how does that make you feel to love that person so much I had a question for you what if every morning you started out asking yourself a series of questions that put you in this kind of state there’s some real power to see the state you’re in affects the way you look at your whole world doesn’t it affects the way you breathe the way you feel the way you treat other people and your level of success see a lot of people teaching life do bunch affirmations go I’m happy I’m FBI MEP MEP MEP I’m happy and then your brain goes bs alright now if you do affirmations long enough they may work because your brain may get bored and say well why am i happy at which time it’ll search your brain for an answer and then all sudden you’ll feel happy that’s what happens when you do affirmations or if you go I’m happy I’m happy I’m happy I’m happy I’m happy and you really create the physiology of happiness you know what I mean by that by using your voice that way then what you’ve done is the affirmation didn’t do it so much that’s putting your body in that state so affirmations are great but what only most questions are even more powerful because now you have a reason to be happy you’re not just jumping yourself up and run around with what I call a perma grin where people go why are you happy and go I don’t know but it feels good it’s better to have all these reasons so every morning you stack more reasons to be happy you come up with more reasons that you’re proud more reasons to be grateful more reasons to feel excited about life more feelings of love if you stack those every day you literally anchor them in your nervous system this is part of what I call destiny technology’s controlling your state you’re asking yourself effective questions this is the power of focus and here’s your exercise pause your success journal and right now I want you to write down five questions after you’ve designed these five questions but I’d like you ask yourself to do is this first of all let me ask you this if every single morning you got up and asked yourself five custom design questions that put you in peak States and they gave you lots of reasons to feel phenomenal so you weren’t just some guy out there again just babbling about how excited you are without any reasons for it I’m not talking about being somebody who’s just all pumped up for no reason but if every day you came up with lots of reasons and felt these powerful emotions what would that do to the quality of your life what would that do to your days would it be worth developing some new habits if your answer to these questions is yes then I’d like to challenge you to do something I’d like you to develop a new habit a one that will literally conditioned your nervous system to associate powerful emotions with waking up in the morning wouldn’t that be nice here’s what I want you to do if you’re willing to take on the challenge for the rest of this program approximately what twenty two more days each morning I want you to answer those five questions and every time you answer them you’ve got to create some feelings so if one of your questions was what am I most excited about my life you got to come up with at least two different answers and you got to think about why you’re exciting how great that makes you feel you got to actually feel the answer the question two answers to each of your five questions each morning again this is not added work you’re already asking questions you just may be asking questions like oh gosh why do I have to get up at this hour that may not be the best question to ask when the alarm goes off maybe you want to install a new one that empowers you would you be willing to do that for the rest of this 30-day program now I don’t want you to do this for the rest of your life because you might get addicted of feeling excellent for the rest of your life and gosh only knows what would happen to you then so don’t go any longer than these thirty days for sure but at least for the thirty days would you be willing to try it okay then go for it so you know your assignment design five questions that we’ll get resources out if you make you feel phenomenal each day that will make you get access to your real powered ability every single day also I want to say to you please use your success journal to write down each day a little bit about what’s happening to you what are you noticing have you already begun to notice that your attitude has changed obviously but also if you notice that maybe you’re willing to take some chances do you’re being more decisive you’re taking some actions you’ve been may be more powerful in some of your communication have you decided maybe to take some actions like lose weight or stop smoking and you’re in like day three or four of that or are you just feeling better about the possibilities of your future now that was each day you might want to just keep a journal jot down a couple of key ideas about what you learn that day or what you’re experiencing in your daily life besides this program I’ve kept journals for years because I believe that if my life is worth living it’s worth recording and for me what journals are as a way to go back and notice my growth because otherwise what happens for a lot of us is we get caught up but if you have a journal you can look and see how you’ve grown in your development and your ability and where you are in your life in addition your journals are things that you can give later on to your children someday they can look back and learn from the lessons you’ve learned in your life sir and valuable I hope you’ll decide to keep a success journal on an ongoing basis after this program but see if you get yourself in the habit right now for the next 30 days over the next 30 days you
Hey guys Aaron and dusty here welcome back to eat move rest and Happy New Year yes happy 2018 so with the New Year here a lot of you are probably thinking it might be time to clean up your diet lose a little bit of weight maybe you’re even entertaining the idea of going vegan after all dr. oz did say that it was like the trend of the year yeah so 2018 it’s only building steam we want to share with you guys seven pip pitfalls or seven reasons that people fail out of plant-based or vegan diet yep so let’s get right into it number one people don’t eat enough calories I know that when I started or we started this journey I got rid of meat and dairy and all of a sudden I was just starving I didn’t know what to eat what’s left right so make sure and get your calories number two too much vegan junk food yes there is such a thing if you go to Whole Foods or any grocery store you’re bound to find plenty of processed packaged junk foods labeled vegan and all the sudden you see the halo 4 minutes glowing light and you grab it snatch it up throw it in your cart bring it home prepare it and you maybe don’t feel any better than you did when you ate your regular burger no Aaron will tell you I am a vegan junk food addict I do my best but every once in a while I just have to order that vegan pizza and eat the whole thing and I feel like dying yeah so steer clear of the junk foods and stick to the Whole Foods plant-based foods yeah more on that later number three being unprepared now this is something that we still struggle with nobody’s perfect but being prepared is going to help I know again when we first started we didn’t know what to buy at the grocery store we didn’t know what to prepare at home and basically we were unprepared and then always hungry yeah so has the same goes if you fail to plan you can plan to fail right number four the fourth reason why people fail at a vegan or plant-based lifestyle is criticism yes and criticism can be harsh it can be downright mean we haven’t had to deal with a whole lot of that especially from our online community it’s been overwhelmingly positive things on YouTube but it can also be just joking around and just giving you a hard time which can also be uncomfortable right so my father-in-law Erin’s wonderful father is the biggest jokester in the world and I don’t know how many vegan slang word nicknames that he’s called me and us but hey we have survived and you will too just stand up to that criticism yes stand firm be confident just walk the walk and eventually people will start to ask you questions right okay so number five money people say it’s too expensive to be vegan and that is simply not true we were just at our families for the holidays and somebody was cooking up a big hunk of meat sitting on the counter we looked at the price and it was $50 a $50 piece of meat do you know how many rice and beans we can buy with that and cases of bananas no kidding we buy beans rice lentils potatoes by the bay it’s so cheap they last forever you can do it for six reason why people fail at a vegan or plant-based lifestyle is impatience patience is a virtue my friends yes it can be tempting to want to go cold turkey and switch overnight and think that everything’s just gonna be like all happy sunshine and rainbows but it can actually set you up for failure and you’ll end up reverting back to how you were before yes so it took me at least two years and it was a little bit quicker but yeah we started out with vegetarian we did it for 40 days then we went back and like it was a two-year journey for us and we’ve right here and we’re happy now but be easy on yourself and have patience and we’re still learning new things every single day that the journey continues and you’re okay with that because we feel great and we’re continuing to feel better right so finally number seven the reason people fail is confusion they’re like what I thought this but this guy says that and we’re all just confused what’s right dr. Oz says one thing Oprah says another thing and ritual dr. Gregers say another thing yeah our best advice is to check your facts yeah for example wheel of nutritionfacts.org dr. Hey this is Leo for actualised org and in this video we’re going to talk about emotional intelligence alright so emotional intelligence why is it important well first before we even get into that let’s say emotional intelligence is also defined as EQ kind of like you have IQ which is your intelligence quotients well here you also have EQ which is your emotional quotient so I’ll be saying interchangeably emotional intelligence sometimes other times I’ll be saying e Q to be compared to IQ alright so why is EQ important well what they’ve actually discovered after doing lots of research in the last really thirty years they’ve had so much research about what creates performance and success in business and in careers and what they really found is that people who are successful the number one factor is not IQ it’s not intelligence the number one factor is EQ it’s emotional intelligence it’s your ability to work with emotions that is what’s critical they’ve done so many studies in colleges and universities and in corporations across the country in the world that really document this and demonstrate this you think we would kind of commonly think that well if somebody is smart if they have a high IQ then that person can get a lot of stuff done and sometimes we even say that well he’s so smart he’s got he’s got like a really sharp mind he’s able to get stuff done that’s not actually very true people that are extremely smart technically speaking on the IQ scale if they have a very high IQ actually they tend to not produce that much they tend to be not that successful when your IQ gets like above 150 it does actually be counterproductive because you’re so much in your head all the time and you lose touch with the emotions and the emotions are what really create success in life because life is about relationships life is about being able to be in relationship with others and it’s also understanding yourself and being able to control and manage your own emotions so if you can do that if you can develop strong emotional intelligence then you are going to be successful and your relationships are going to be more successful you’re going to be happier there you’re just going to be happier alone by yourself naturally you’re going to have better control you’re going to be able to do things you’re going to be able to execute on the things you want to execute on because you’re gonna have the discipline in the wheel power and you’re not going to have those super high highs and those super slow lows in life you’re going to have a more even keeled trajectory through life and that tends to be what produces success and high performance so that’s ultimately why you should be interested in EQ now EQ we should clarify what it is and what it’s not let’s start by what it’s not a lot of people will assume that EQ talks about sociability and what emotional intelligence means is that you’re extroverted and that you’re confident and that you’re a people person and you’re very gregarious right we know those types of people that’s the cliche extrovert well that’s not what emotional intelligence is about emotional intelligence in fact is something that dovetails very nicely with introverts so for example I’m a very strong introvert but I also have a high emotional intelligence and this is something that actually measured through tests so I got I got tested for this and you know you can take assessments online and in both other places so the two are not opposed at all and the two are not synonymous being sociable and being emotionally intelligent is not necessarily synonymous so what is emotional intelligence said let’s really define it let’s break into it so here’s the definition that I got from a book called emotional intelligence 2.0 which I highly recommend you check out because they’ve got a very in-depth explanation with lots of examples and then they give you assessment so you can actually assess yourself and get scores which is which is nice so it’s not subjective it becomes very tangible so definition of emotional intelligence is and I’m reading this off the ability to recognize and understand your emotions in yourself and in others and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and your relationships so that is e Q in a nutshell now there’s really four pillars I’m calling them four pillars of emotional intelligence and they were part of that definition if you notice pillar number one is your ability to understand your own emotions being able to label your emotions and just recognizing what you have and having a broader range of emotions so having more awareness there that’s pillar number one pillar number two is your ability to control your emotions because it’s one thing to just know your emotions what you’re feeling label it it’s a totally another matter to be able to manage it to be able to discipline yourself control yourself so you’re not having those those crashes and you’re not having those ecstatic Peaks but you’re somewhere in the middle and you’re even keeled that’s controlling your emotions pillar number two P low number three is your ability to read emotions and other people you might call this empathy it’s your ability to understand what other people are experiencing and feeling being able to relate to that using your mirror neurons you’re relating to that and you’re understanding their point of view it’s really the ability to step into somebody else’s shoes and look at life or a situation from their perspective that’s pillar number three and pillar number four is your ability to then manage your relationships so how smooth are your relationships going for you how well are you communicating and interacting within them that is also determined by your EQ so EQ consists of all these four pillars and actually in that book emotional intelligence 2.0 I took tests and I got tested I got I got a score for each one of those pillars so you might be stronger and you probably are definitely stronger in some of these four than you are in others so maybe for example you are really good at controlling your emotions but you’re not so good about managing your social relationships or maybe your you’re really good at identifying your emotions but then you can’t really control them and so you know you’re experiencing you can label it you’re self-aware you’re very conscious but then you’re just struggling to actually then practically manage that and channel it into your work or the habits that you’re trying to instill in your life like you’re working on your diet or your gym so you know you can have different levels and of course the idea is that the higher you are in each one of these the better because you want all of them maxed out ideally the more intelligent intelligence you have the better you’re going to do in life the happier you’re going to be so you want them to be maximally at 100 each one at 100 all right so those are the four pillars I’m sure you have a deeper understanding of what EQ is let’s also talk about how this actually relates to some of the stuff that happens in our life because it might still be a little bit abstract at this point it might be a little bit unclear as to how EQ can really help you and how it impacts you already because it’s already impacting what’s happening in your life in fact if you’re having struggle in relationships whether you’re intimate relationship or relationships at work with your boss with coworkers with employees then that’s a really big sign that you have trouble in at least one of these four pillars if not all of them so let’s talk about that so here’s a list of the things that EQ is controlling or is tied to these are some of the effects of EQ firstly is anger management are you able to manage your anger well if you are then you have high EQ if you’re not then you have low EQ probably because well you’re failing on those first two pillars you’re not very conscious about it about your feelings and secondly you’re not able to control them very well so that’s an example right there next is accountability how much accountability are you able to take on yourself rather than blaming other people that’s connected to EQ how about honesty and trust that one is connected tq2 how honest are you with yourself but then also how honest are you able to be in social situations without having to be pressured into into line or telling white lies or being distrustful of people so honesty and trust are big and those are really tied to EQ you’ve also got assertiveness and confidence these are big if you’re lacking in assertiveness and you’re lacking in confidence then you’re also lacking in emotional intelligence communication how good of a communicator are you can you communicate in your intimate relationship how about communicating at work if you’re not able to communicate effectively that shows a lack of emotional intelligence how about stress tolerance are you always stressed are you frantic are you anxious thinking negative thoughts always judging yourself feeling guilty well that is a sign that you don’t have very strong emotional intelligence you’re faltering on one of those four pillars how about decision making how strong are you of a decision-maker do you find yourself waffling all the time making a decision then going back and going forward and going back and going forward or not being able to decide between two things for a long time procrastinating this is a sign of low emotional intelligence how about flexibility how flexible are you do you flow with life are you able to handle the challenge in the situation that are coming up with life or are you very rigid and set in your ways and everything is bumping into you and causing all sorts of pain and suffering that’s a sign of low EQ how about presentation skills probably more related to work how well you able to give a presentation to speak to convince people to motivate people to inspire people especially if your manager this is very very applicable and good managers must have high EQ to be able to influence their employees in a you know effective way also the next point is listening skills how about listening skills how good of a listener are you are you able to really listen to what people are telling you are able to understand it to really empathize with it and are you able to then show them reflect back to them that you did understand do people think that you’re a good listener or do people think that you’re a poreless well if you’re a poor listener then that’s tied to low EQ so that is the list and I’m sure there’s more these are just some of the most obvious ways in which EQ connects to your life in all these different areas but of course it relates to your intimate relationships very much it also relates to how you’re doing at work how you’re talking to clients all of that it also relates very much to how peaceful and happy you feel just inside by yourself because if you’re always frantic and you’re always sad or depressed we’re having any of these kinds of negative emotions you’re angry all the time you’re guilty this shows a lack of emotional intelligence because you’re not recognizing them in yourself first and foremost but then you also don’t have tools and strategies for how to manage them and then you’re you’re expressing them and then it’s also impacting your relationships out in the real world so it affects you and it affects the world so that’s you can you can see how powerful this idea is and how many aspects of your life it affects it literally the tentacles from EQ literally spread into almost every single aspect of your life this is why this idea is so so so important so now we know what EQ is we really defined it I think you have a good strong sense of how it relates to your life with all these examples the question now is how do you go about developing it or even can you develop it what can you do about this what if you happen to be low in one of these areas what if you don’t really have a strong sense of your emotions what if you don’t have good control what if you can empathize what if you are a bad communicator or bad in relationships how do you manage that well the good news is that more so than IQ EQ is highly developable that means you can develop it you can work on it it takes time it doesn’t happen overnight it’s not a week-long process it will take you months to do this but you can work in pinpointed ways on those exact deficiencies that you have in each one of these four pillars you can do things to retrain your mind to think in new ways to make new distinctions to understand new thing and to put new communication skills into place so that these things are brought up to to the maximum and that’s work that you can do I actually do a lot of that work through coaching a lot of the videos that I share with you guys although I don’t explicitly say that this is about EQ or emotional intelligence ultimately this is what actualize that org is about we’re helping you understand emotions we’ll help you understand your psychology and psychology is very emotion Laden and then we’re helping you understand how to master them through all these different techniques so for example something like meditation or something like journaling could be a technique that you can use to reduce your stress or to build more understanding of your emotions something like coaching is something you can use to understand your emotions better reading books and understand about this stuff can help you understand your emotions better then going out there actually practicing some of this stuff so there’s a lot of different like practical techniques that you can use and you should use to actually go out and work on each one of these pillars I don’t really have time to go into them it’s such a deep topic there’s literally hundreds of them so I can’t cover them all I’m going to have other videos that cover how to work probably on each one of these pillars and share more of these techniques with you but this video the purpose was just to show you that this is out there get you to start to understand that emotional intelligence is important and then hopefully give you a sense of this is something that you should care about and you should probably have a sense right now whether you are lacking in one of these four pillars or in all of them do you think you have low EQ or high EQ well now you probably now have a better sense although you can go out there to actually get it tested objectively through some of these surveys that they have in books and online which I highly encourage you to do but ultimately now you’ve got a sense of this and now get a little bit more body in to this idea that emotions are important self-control is important it’s all connected to your success in life alright this is Leo I would be signing off this You don’t need money to start a business I got a great question for my YouTube viewers love you guys tank wahoo wrote in to say I really want to open my own vegan bakery slash cafe the issue here is money and I don’t even know in a kitchen I came up with baking years ago since my parents wanted me to become a nurse worst thing I did was give up on something I believed in and loved I’m still resentful towards them although really it was my own fault for not going with what I wanted this is a great question and I’ve got three bits of advice to help you with this problem number one is change your mindset you’re telling yourself a story that is holding you back right now you’re blaming your parents you’re blaming them because they had your best interests in heart they were looking out for you they wanted you to be a nurse even though it wasn’t your dream and you listen to them when you give up control of your life of your destiny and put it into somebody else’s hands you have nobody to blame but yourself so stop feeling resentful stop blaming them start looking in the mirror and saying this is on me to fix nobody’s going to give you your dream if you want to chase something it’s up to you to follow it number two is model success if you went out and took out a loan to start this business you would fail right now because you don’t know anything about running a vegan bakery cafe you’ll make a ton of mistakes and you could be in debt for the rest of your life so instead of jumping all in goal model success learn from someone who’s already doing what you want to do go find a cafe that you look up to that you respect who’s doing exactly what you want to become and go work for them learn the ropes understand what makes them successful get as close to the founder as possible take on as much roles and responsibilities as you can you’re getting paid to learn you’re getting paid to make mistakes you’re getting paid to make connections and you’re getting paid to get educated on how to run a successful bakery number three it starts small start right now with what you have you’re starting from here we have this desire to build a bakery your next step you see is being way up here where you want to open up your bake shop and you can’t bridge that gap right the only way you can see it is you have to get some money you don’t have the money you don’t know how to scale that big gap the way to do it is to take smaller steps break that down to the next step to allow you to start making forward progress you don’t start with a bakery you start by doing bake sales here’s a great example of a local Toronto and City vegan bakery cafe called bunner’s I first met the owner actually at a bake sale in the basement of a church she was selling gluten-free cupcakes and they were amazing she went to bake sale after bake sale after bake sale learning what works figuring out who her customers were understanding what recipes people really really liked she learned she saved up she started part-time before jumping all in when she saved up enough money and she knew she had customers she can call on and she knew she had products that people would actually buy she opened up her first location then she opened up another then she started a cookbook then she started a wholesale business and now she’s winning awards for best new bakery best dessert shop best muffin vegan or otherwise so change your beliefs and stop blaming other people model success and go work for someone who’s doing this right now and start small on the side instead of thinking you have to go all-in and launch your own shop and continue to believe for those you’re watching like the video subscribe to the channel see more just like it thank you so much for watching I’ll see you soon.
This last year I decided to make some huge shifts in my life I made the choice that mediocrity would no longer have a hold on me instead my life would be consumed by hardwork self-discipline and passion I love that sound every day I wake up in bed next to my beautiful wife is a blessing knowing that today is a brand new day and it’s full of opportunity and Wonder it always stirs up my passion for impacting the world in some kind of new way every day I like to kick off my morning with some positive music something that will get me in the right frame of mind for the rest of the day I’ll go straight into brushing my teeth getting rid of that morning breath then of course hit the shower to wake me up using my steam spray to fight back any morning congestion besides washing my face and going through the necessary steps of my skincare routine I always find the shower as a quiet place where I can start my day right with meditation and prayer I never go a day without moisturizing my today I’m actually testing out our newest hair product that we’re currently working on which will be launched a little later this year to go along with our other well-known products such as ocean clay which of course I used to style my hair with just about every day to save myself time I usually like to figure out what I’m gonna wear the night before especially on big days like today because in a couple hours from now I’ll be launching a little something I’ve been working on called individuals which is a community brand that anyone can be a part of individuals is all about embracing that things that make you unique your strengths your weaknesses see most people think that you have to be perfect to impact the world I say let people be inspired by your imperfections now I’m a big fan of staying healthy and keeping my body performing at the top of its game so every morning I’ll have my daily dose of vitamins and I’ll make a couple of these health drinks for my wife and I that are full of antioxidants fiber and other healthy ingredients we’ll have this along with an awesome breakfast that my wife always makes for us I like to always start off my day by reading positive development books I believe that having a high-quality personality is even more important than having a high quality style C in school we were never taught how to have vision or be an entrepreneur how to brand our name or how to even be good husbands or family men so reading learning and stretching ourselves every day is mandatory now about two or three days a week I like to go outside and just meditate I follow wim Hof’s breathing method and I absolutely love the way it makes me feel if I’m in need of a boost my wife and I like to hit up the coffee shop especially this little place called the breviary it’s this really good coffee joint located in Saint George Utah [Music] [Music] now this is also a great spot where I like to do all of my work before launching individuals I still need to upload and publish this YouTube video that I’ve been working really hard on for the last few days you know every time I post a video I get so excited to be able to chat with you guys in the comments section all hours before working on some more videos for YouTube it’s kind of funny my brother and I grew up making music and this is how I was actually introduced to the whole YouTube industry way before i produce videos david and i used to make music and travel doing shows then one day we got in contact with a little youtube channel called tokyo TV that wanted to use our music for their videos so now things have come full circle and we’re getting ready to release our first album in over six years it’s been nothing but hard work and major dedication getting back into the groove again and creating our new sound over these past few years but now we’re ready to impact the world in a whole new way you know when it comes down to it being successful is all based on perspective and attitude being 25 and married creating YouTube videos being an owner of shavoo and individuals and now music all in the works my life gets pretty crazy I’m constantly on my grind non-stop but everything I’m doing I absolutely love it I love it all and I feel so blessed that God has entrusted me with so much I mean I can honestly say that I am truly grateful you know when you push yourself and I mean truly push yourself and when you stay grateful and full of faith no matter what circumstance that your current that’s a beautiful thing when you’re constantly helping other people and constantly dreaming big
